ANN MARIE "ANNIE" CATALANO, MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA, FORMERLY OF WASHINGTONVILLE, NEW YORK

Ann Marie “Annie” Catalano age 82 of Milford, PA and formerly of Washingtonville, NY passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on August 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Eugene and Anne Moran Smith. Annie worked as a case worker in the support unit for the Orange County Dept. of Social Services, Goshen, NY. After her retirement from Orange County she worked for many years as a clerk for the Port Jervis Police Dept. with the Detective Unit until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Milford, PA, and a choir member of the church. She was a dedicated member of the the Milford Garden Club and won numerous prizes for her floral designs. She was an active member of the Friends of the Library, Milford. A family statement read: “ Annie had a gift for gardening and an unmatched enthusiasm for her Irish heritage. She loved to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day by baking her famous Soda bread, watching the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, and spreading her Irish joy to family and friends. Annie was also and avid traveler, but it was never just about the places she went, but always about sharing experiences with people she loved. Annie was married first to the late William Waugh and second to Blaze “Bud” Catalano who survives at home. She is also survived by her four daughters, Patsy Rainaldi and her husband Stephen of Montgomery, NY, Ellen Waugh of the County of Sullivan, Maureen De Stefano of Montebello, NY, Kathleen Waugh and her fiancé Victor Spaccarelli of Marlboro, NY; eight grandchildren, Michael and his wife Krissy, Matthew and his wife Sylvie, A.J. and his wife Ashley, Sean and his wife Stacey, Shannon, Melissa, Sarah, Deirdre, four great grandchildren, Gavin, Colin, Keegan and Madeline and her husband’s extended family. She was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Dr. Irvin De Stefano and her little pet dog “Robbie”. Annie’s family would like to send a special thank you to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice and her two special care givers, Marge and Nancy. They would also like to thank Phyllis L’Estrange, N.P. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8 from 4-8 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Prayers will be offered 10 AM Wednesday, March 9th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, 111 E. High St., Milford, PA. Rev. Gregory Kelly will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.
