PHILOMENA COOPER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Philomena Cooper, age 85 of Port Jervis, New York passed away, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Julia Ribaudo Health Care Facility, Lake Ariel, PA.  She was born on  January 20, 1928 in Lords, Valley, PA., the daughter of the late  Jefferson D. and Catherine McConnell Cooper.  Philomena was a retired L.P.N. and worked as an independent health care giver to many families in the Tri-State Area.  She was a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis.  Philomena is survived by her sister, Agnes Ellison of Montague, New Jersey, her two brothers, Paul Cooper  of White Mills, PA, and Thomas Cooper of Lords Valley, PA, several nieces and nephews, including, Joseph Majesky, of Lords Valley, Cherelyn and Bill Mills, of Port Jervis. The family is forever grateful and would like to thank Cherelyn and Bill for their support and compassionate care to Philomena. She was pre-deceased by several sisters and brothers.  Friends may call Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. KAREN A. EMERICK, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Karen A. Emerick, age 52 of Port Jervis, New York, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her home.  She was born on December 16, 1961 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Joan Delaney Boucher.  Karen was an assembler for Kolmar labs, Inc., in Port Jervis.  She married Brian R. Emerick, who survives at home.  Karen is also survived by her daughter, Danielle Boucher and her companion Vincent Black of Port Jervis, her two sisters, Dawn M. Knight and her husband Harold of Port Jervis, and Robin Josd of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, Mariah, Noah, Isaiah, and Mercedes, and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be private.  Cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pennsylvania.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society, Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771 or to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Dr., New Windsor, New York  12553.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. KIMBERLY A. RANICH, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Kimberly A. Ranich, age 44 of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 30, 1969 in Pequannock, New Jersey, the daughter of Leonard Troiana and Barbara Van Beveran Troiana Ridner. Kimberly worked a waitress for Homer's Coffee Shop in Port Jervis. She married Jefferson J. Ranich, who survives at home, Kimberly is also survived by her three sons, Daniel Drumm of Cape coral, Florida, Steven Drumm and Matthew Ranich both at home, her father Leonard Troiana and his wife Dawn of Oak Hill, Florida, and her mother, Barbara Ridner and her husband Bill of Lackawaxen, Penna., her sister, Charlotte Troiana, of Elizabethtown, Penna., two brothers, Leonard Troiana and his wife Stephanie of Elizabethtown, Penna., and Joseph Troiana of Oak Hill, Florida, her maternal grandparents, Daniel and Barbara Van Beveran of Port Jervis, , two nieces Isabella and Riley and one nephew Leonard, as well as her extended family. MARIA MATTHEWS, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Maria Matthews, age 86 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Twin Cedars Senior Living Facility, Shohola, Pennsylvania.  She was born on  August 18, 1927 in Pascia, Italy, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Erina Cecconi Tintorini.  Maria worked as a supervisor for the Highland Training School in Poughkeepsie, New York.  She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Matamoras, Pennsylvania.  Maria married Lester Matthews, who pre-deceased her in December 1996.  She is survived by her Step-son, David  J. Mathews of Venice, California, her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Matthews of Montague, New Jersey,  her grand daughter, Vikki Hendershot and her husband William of Montague, NJ,  her grandson, David Matthews  of Florida, three great grandchildren, Billy Hendershot, Chad and Summer Matthews, and several nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy.   She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Martha Burrows and Renata Belti and her brother,  Egidio Tintorini.  A  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held,Monday, December 30, at 12 Noon at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, Penna. Rev. ARLINE J. YOERG, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Arline J. Yoerg, age 79, of Port Jervis, NY passed away,  Friday, December 20, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.  She was born on October 5, 1934 in Shohola, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late  Emil and Irene McKean  Shields.  Arline worked  in the Housekeeping Department at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis.  Arline married William A. Yoerg, who pre-deceased her.  She is survived by her  son, William Yoerg and his wife  Colleen of Shohola, PA., her daughter Irene Flood and her husband  Ellison of Shohola, PA., seven grandchildren, Richard, William III, Brian, Jonathan, Amy, Matt and Biko, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. PATRICIA H. McKEON, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Patricia H. McKeon age 95 of Port Jervis, New York passed away, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at her home. She was born on December 1, 1918 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Nicholas E. and Mary Rooney Hicks. Pat was a retired clerk for General Telephone Co., in Middletown, NY. She was also a retired clerk for the Port Jervis Free Library. Pat was a faithful member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, in Port Jervis. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241. Patricia married Lawrence J. McKeon, who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her five sons, John "Sam" McKeon a thome, William McKeon and his wife Carole of Stroudsburg, Penna., Robert McKeon and his wife karen of Sumter, S.C., Thomas McKeon and his wife Denise of Milford, Penna., and Kevin Mckeon and his wife Patricia of Port Jervis, her two daughters, Theresa Talmage of Charleston, S.C., and Kathleen Rasha of Port Jervis,her two son-in-laws mayor Russell Potter and Jerry Talmage and her daughter-in-law Maureen McKeon, 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was pre-deceased by her daughter, Mary Ann Potter, her granddaughter, Reagan McKeon and her grandson, Kevin McKeon, and one brother and two sisters. ERNEST W. CRAMER, TOWN OF GREENVILLE, NEW YORK

Ernest W. Cramer, age 90 of the Town of Greenville, New York, passed peacefully surrounded by his family, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Ctr., Middletown, NY. He was born on May 17, 1923 in Port Jervis, New York, the son of the late  Harry and Clara Simons Cramer.  Ernest proudly served our country during WW II with the U.S Army.  He is a life member of the Greenville V.F. W Post, and a member  of the Greenville Sports Club and Past Treasurer.  He also served as former councilman for the Town of Greenville from 1958-1974. Ernest worked as a self-employed salesman for Folgesons Bakery for twenty years.  In 1967 he founded and  was the former owner of Area Refuse Co., in the Town of Greenville.  He married Marie  Casterlin Cramer  on September 26, 1948 and celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.  He is survived by his wife Marie, at home, his two daughters, Darlene Amarilla and her husband Alex of Port Jervis, Sherry Cramer of Port Jervis, his three sons, Allan Cramer and his wife Judith  of the Town of Greenville, Lee Cramer and his wife Mary of Port Jervis, and Brian Cramer and his wife Denise of Port Jervis, eight grandchildren, George Cramer and his wife Hannah, Aaron and his companion Amanda, Cheyenne, Janet and her husband Chris, Kyle, Brandon, Brianna Cramer and Alexi Amarilla, two great grandchildren Logan and Haileigh Cramer and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Ernest was pre-deceased by his two sisters, Jennie French, and Marguerite Dwyer.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Manning Cemetery, Town of Greenville.  Rev.  Don Coy will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. BERNARD H. LAZAR, LORDS VALLEY, PENNSYLVANIA

Bernard H. Lazar, age 85, of Lords Valley, PA and formerly of Bremen, ME and Madison, CT, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was born on May 10, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Albert and Olga Backer Lazar.  Bernard served our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and earned BA and Master’s degrees from Syracuse University. He later enrolled in a doctoral program, studying playwriting, at Yale University. He taught English and Drama at the college and high school levels, most recently at Cromwell High School in Cromwell, CT. In retirement, he spent 14 tranquil years on the coast of Maine, writing fiction and reading voraciously. In 2007, he moved to the NY/PA area to be closer to family. Over the course of his life, Bernard wrote 13 works of fiction, both novels and plays.

 Bernard is survived by his son, Stephen D. Lazar, M.D. and wife Jessica of Marlboro, NY; by his four daughters, Sandra L. Cohan and her husband Terry of Lords Valley, PA, Dr. Priscilla K. Coleman and her husband Brian Smith of Bowling Green, OH, Robin A. Lazar of Walnut Creek, CA, and Amy L. Livezey and her husband John of New Fairfield, CT; by his brother Lawrence Lazar of Jacksonville, FL; by his nine grandchildren, Jillian and her husband Brian, Melissa, Joseph and his wife Christina, Samuel, Stephen, Jr., Hannah, Hayley, Jolie, and Emersyn; and by several nieces and nephews, including his special nephew, close friend, and caregiver Timothy Klein.

 Memorial services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. Main Street, Port Jervis, NY. Keith Raser will officiate. CAROL ANNE LOMBARDI, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK, FORMERLY OF BRIARCLIFF MANOR, WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK

Carol Anne Lombardi, age 72 of Huguenot, NY and formerly of Briarcliff Manor, Westchester County,  NY passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home.  She was born on September 6, 1941 in White Plains, NY, the daughter of the late Richard and Bertha Ruehling Langle.  Carol retired, after twenty years, from the business office at the Pocantico Hills Central School District in Sleepy Hollow, NY. She married  George T. Lombardi on April 20, 1963 and celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Carol is also survived by her daughter, Dawn Orza and her husband Louie, her sons, David Lombardi and his wife Linda, and Danny Lombardi and his wife Joanne, and her daughter Diane VanderBrink and her husband Brian, nine grandchildren, Catherine, Lucien, Grace, Emma, Nicholas, Oskar, Abby, Joy
and Paige, and her sister, Elizabeth Fitzgerald. Carol and her husband George, retired to their farm in Huguenot in the year 2000 to enjoy their horses, gardening and relaxing on the Neversink River. She

RUTH B. MYERS, ELDRED, NEW YORK

Ruth B. Myers, age 89 of Eldred, NY, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 13, 1924 in Pond Eddy, New York, the daughter of the late Herman J. and Blanche Quick Worzel. Ruth retired as a secretary for the Eldred Central School. She was an active member, organist, and treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eldred Congregational Church. Ruth married Charles H. Myers on June 9,1946, celebrating sixty-seven and a half years of marriage. She is survived by her husband at home, Charles "Chuck" Myers, her son Robert W. Myers and his wife Elizabeth of Shohola, PA, her grand daughter, Wendy Myers and her husband David of Shohola, and two great grand children, Adam and Aubrie Myers, her sister Virginia Fredericks and her husband Sam of Pond Eddy, ad her brother Herman "Okie" Worzel and his wife Carolyn of Eaton, NY and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was pre-deceased by her brother, Gordon Worzel. Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Eldred Congregational Church, Eldred. Rev. KATHRYN A. GASTMEYER, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Kathryn A. Gastmeyer, age 96 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away MonDay, November 25, 2013 at Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born on September 22, 1917 in Matamoras, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Robertson Meyer. Kathryn was a member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Matamoras Fire Dept. She married Ernest Gastmeyer, who pre-deceased her. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Benson of Port St. Lucie, Florida, her two grand daughters, Susan Jewell and her husband Robert and Sandra Coleman and her husband Edward, two great grandchildren, Kelsey and Jeremey Coleman, her brother Henry "Pip" Meyer of Matamoras, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Thomas Benson, her brother Karl Meyer, and her four sisters, Mildred Edwards, Genevieve Hooey, Jessie Reichel and Alice Quick. Joseph Patrick Bradley, age 62 of Cuddebackville, NY, passed away, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 20, 1951 in the Bronx, New York, the son of Thomas J. Bradley and the late Margaret Moran Bradley. Joseph was a retired Proprietor of Medallion Yellow Taxi, in New York City, NY. Moving from New York City, Joseph relocated to Sullivan county to be close to his family. He is survived by his father Thomas J. Bradley and his step-mother Bernadette. He is also survived by his daughter, Caroline Russell, , 2 grandchildren Ethan and Deckloyn and his sister Margaret Bianca and her husband Vito of Ellenville, and several nieces and nephews. HARRIET R. MCALLISTER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Harriet R. McAllister, age 93 of Port Jervis, New York, passed away, Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Montgomery Nursing Home, Montgomery, NY. She was born on February 6, 1920 in Sparrowbush, New York, the daughter of the late Fred and Lila Adams Robinson. Harriet was retired as a supervisor from Andmore Sportswear, Inc., in Port Jervis. She was a member and Sunday school teacher of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Harriet married John McAllister, who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her grandson, Jonah Erickson and his companion, Jessica Benner of Pittsburg, PA, and several nieces and nephews including Janice Kinney and her husband John of Montgomery, NY. Harriet was pre-deceased by her daughter, Carol McAllister, her two brothers Edward and Lester Robinson and her sister, Gladys Karr. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1 PM at the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church. Rev. Amy Garret will officiate. Louis Maudsley, age 89 of Eldred, new York, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 5, 1924 in Binghamton, New York, the son of the late Ellis and Edna A. Rauner Maudsley. Louis was a retired Bridge Supervisor for the Sullivan County Dept. of Public Works, in Monticello. Lou was a very active member of the Eldred United Methodist Church in Eldred. He dedicated much of his time in helping to maintain the church. He married Edith I. Rutledge Maudsley, who pre-deceased him in 1988. He is survived by his son, Kevin Maudsley and his wife Karen of Lexington, Kentucky, his three daughters, Mary Huntington and her husband James of Eldred, Amy Benedict and her husband Jeril of Houston, Texas, and Bonnie Cohen and her husband Steven of Staten Island, NY, his sister, Doris Day of Honesdale, Penna., six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister Elsie Hathaway. Funeral services will be held , Friday, December 6, at 11 AM at the Eldred United Methodist Church, Eldred. Rev. Linda Bohs will officiate.
