DONALD JAMES "JAMIE" CASE, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

DONALD JAMES "JAMIE" CASE
September 15, 1965 - January 5, 2014
Donald James "Jamie" Case, age 48, of Port Jervis, formed a last goodbye kiss on his lips for his sister, reached his arms up to God our Father Almighty on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at New York University Hospital and went off to keep his date with destiny.
Jamie, a life-long adventurer and son of Sherrill Elston Case Holley and the late Donald James Case was born on September 15, 1965. He owned Case Consulting as a consultant for charter jet sales. His quick wit and humor, laced with sensitivity, caring, curiosity, a hunger to learn business, and a sense of good ethics combined with a sometimes untamed zest for life that fascinated others, won him many old and new loyal friends whom he cherished.
He was never a bore with his ready grin and hearty laugh. Jamie had a broad scope of interests and when he wasn't "unavoidably detained" from pursuing his fancies he engaged in golfing, rafting, fishing, skeet-shooting, biking, trumpet playing, drumming, museum hopping and jet traveling. He also proudly spent two seasons yachting on the Sean Fein with Irish buddies who taught him the ropes. There wasn't an indoor or outdoor sport he met that he didn't like, nor a wooded path through the mountain forests, lakes and river banks he didn't want to explore. His love for music was all inclusive, favoring jazz and mellow classical pieces which gave him great pleasure in the last days of his life.
His favorite artist was Georgia O'Keefe. His hero was General George S. Patton.
Jamie loved and lived life to the max and died an unsung hero, volunteering as a "lab rat" for experimental medicine in the battle against Melanoma cancer. He was respected as a warrior and was dearly loved by his family, friends, experimental research teams and care givers.
Jamie Case was a Patriot who took enormous pride in his American heritage. He was a direct descendant of Englishman, John Elston, who sailed here on the Winthorp Fleet and settled in Salem, MA in 1630.
Jamie was predeceased by his beloved grandparents: Merle and Letitia Elston, Henry and Ethel Holley; grandmother, Millicent Case Eberhart; adored uncle, John Easton Holley, uncle, Kenneth Elston; cousins: Kim Elston, Greg and Craig Holley and father, Donald J. Case.
He is survived by his parents, Henry J. Holley, Esq. and wife, Sherrill of Port Jervis; his two sisters, Robin Lyn Miller of West Orange, NJ and Stacy Jane Case; brother, Henry Elston Holley and step-sister, Marsha McCreery of Port Jervis; nephews: Noah Samuel Miller and Jonah Merle Miller; uncle, Robert Elston and wife, Shirley of Matamoras, PA, and devoted cousin, Jeffrey Elston and brothers, Glenn and Michael Elston and families; uncle, Thomas Holley, wife, Mary and family from Omaha, NB; cousins, Brian and Cathy Holley and family of Wappingers Falls, NY, and cousin, Reverend Kevin Holley and wife, Juanita of Illinois.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, January 10th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the NYU Cancer Institute, Clinical Cancer Center, c/o Dr. Anna Pavlick, MD, 160 East 34th St., NY, NY 10016.
