ANNA NESTER, WESTTOWN, NEW YORK

Anna Nester age 93, of Westtown, NY passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at  the Highland  Rehabilitation and Nursing Ctr., Middletown, NY.  She was born on  October 6, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY. Anna was a retired bookkeeper for the United States Navy in Beth Page, Long Island.  She married  William F. Nester, who pre-deceased her.  Anna is survived by her two grandchildren,  Ann Copolla  and Michael Fuchs, her four great grandchildren,  Sophia and Maxwell Fuchs and Alexander and  Isabella Copolla and her son-in-law Lawrence Fuchs of  Sound Beach, NY.  She was pre-deceased by her son Wayne Nester and her daughter Mary Ann Fuchs.  Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Cremation will take place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pennsylvania.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. PATRICIA SWEENEY, TOWN OF GREENVILLE, NEW YORK

Patricia  Sweeney age 73 of  the Town of Greenville, NY, passed away  Monday, May 26,2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.  She was born on March 22, 1941 in Suffern, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Wisnieskie Manion.   Pat was a retired accounts payable  clerk for Media Com, Inc. in Middletown, NY. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's RC Church in Port Jervis.  Pat married Thomas F. Sweeney who pre-deceased her on September 7, 2013.  She is survived by her three daughters,  Wendy Wheeling and her husband Richard  of Milford, Conn., Donna Stawski and her husband David of Huguenot, NY,  Karen DeGroat and her husband Scott of Westtown, NY, her two sons,  Kevin Sweeney and his wife Andrea of Newtown, Penna., Keith Sweeney and his wife Julie of the Town of Greenville, 12 grandchildren, Lauren and Jason Perry, Amanda and Christopher Stawski, Josh and Heidi DeGroat, Mikayla and Brandon Cranfield, Ian, Aaron, Noah and Allison Sweeney, her sister, Veronica Luick of Suffern, NY, two nephews and two nieces.  Pat was pre-deceased by her sister Dorothy Manion.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, May 30, at 10 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. BETTY SAVANNAH, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Betty Savannah, age 84,  of Port Jervis, NY, entered into rest at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, on Thursday, May 29, 2014, after complications of a hip fracture. Betty was born on September 7, 1929 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Edwin and Mildred  Conklin Taylor.She grew up in a small house built by her father at Airport Park in Huguenot, NY, which still stands on Taylor Road. Her pet dog "Buddy" meant everything to her. She loved visiting family and friends and was seen frequently at Stewart's Family Restaurant in Matamoras. Betty married  Richard H. Savannah, Sr., who survives at home, celebrating 54 years of  marriage. Betty is also survived by her four daughters,  Kathleen Decker and her husband, Obie of Cuddebackville, NY, Diane Predmore and her husband, Richard of Sparrowbush, Cindy Ellison and her husband, Jim of Matamoras, and Sherrill Galanakis  and her husband, Tom of Port Jervis;  her son, Roger  Savannah and his companion, Michael of Port Jervis; her sister, Joyce Shafer; two brothers, Lester and  Gene Taylor; her step-son, Richard  Savannah, Jr and his wife, Jeanne of Matamoras; her grandchildren, Kim, Jill, Jody, Holly, Heather, Michelle, Diane, George, Keshia and Richard; two step-grandchildren, Richard and Philip; her great grandchildren, Max, J.D., Zachary, Hailey, Jagger, Ella, Gabriel, Hannah, Megan, Bill,  Hunter, Dakota, Willie, Devon, Jenna May; and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special niece, Sharon Jenks; her special friends, Mary Conklin and Kay Hansen; a host of close friends, extended family, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was pre-deceased by her brothers, Monty and Ray Taylor; her sister, Doris Labold; her grand daughter, Cheryl Ann Hutchinson; her great grand daughter, Katie Decker; and her grandson-in-law, Jason Carroll. Betty's family would like to extend a special thank you to Bon Secours Hospital, ICU, the third floor nurses and staff, to Dr. Daboul and his staff for all of their compassion and expert care. A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, from, 1 to 6 p.m. at  the family home, 9 Hill Street, Port JervisMemorial contributions may be made to the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society, Route 209, Port Jervis, NY  12771.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. JULIANA CAROSELLI, MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA

Juliana Caroselli, age 86 of Milford, Pennsylvania passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Kindred Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  She was born on  January 7, 1928 in France, the daughter of the late  John and Juliette Allgeyer  Ehrler.  Juliana married  Ernest Caroselli, who pre-deceased her.  She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Arch and her husband Ronald of  Stony Creek, NY, her three grandchildren Ronald Arch and his companion Tracy Taylor of Milford, PA, Lisa Binder and her husband David of Athol,  NY,  Kim Rosensweet and her husband Matthew of Lake Ariel, PA, 12 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Audrey Ehrler of the State of Florida, several nieces and nephews. PATRICIA A. SPIECHER , PATERSON, NEW JERSEY

Patricia A. Spiecher, age 88 of Paterson, New Jersey, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was born on  November  14, 1925 in West New York, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Joseph and  Helen Flynn Faller.  Patricia was a retired waitress for High  Mountain Country Club in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.  She married Otto Spiecher, Jr., who pre-deceased her.  Patricia is survived by her two grandsons, Kenneth Engelhardt and his wife  Tracy of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania and Michael Engelhardt of Paterson, New Jersey, two great grand children, Rebecca and Joseph Engelhardt, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Cheryl S. ALFRED "TED" BLAIR, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Alfred "Ted" Blair, age 73 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ. He was born on April 7, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Frederick G. and Lillian Reilly Blair.  Ted was the owner and operator of Blair Carpet in Port Jervis. He was also operator and owner of the Emporium at Carpenters Point in Port Jervis with his wife, Brenda. Ted was very active with various Lions Clubs in previous years locally and state wide. He was Past District Governor, District "O" with the New York State Lions, he was Past President of the Past District Governors Assoc. for New York State and a former Lions Leadership Chair for New York State. Ted was a founding member of the Deerpark Lions Club and founded several other local Lions Clubs. He was past Commissioner of the Hudson and Delaware Boy Scouts Council and he achieved his Silver Beaver Award. He was an instructor for adult leadership for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a past Fire Commissioner for the Sparrowbush Fire Dept., a member of the Port Jervis Volunteer Ambulance Corp, a member of the Port Jervis Merchants Assoc., and a former member of the Port Jervis Chamber of Commerce. He received his diploma from the Ashford Institute of Antiques and was a certified antiques appraiser. Ted married Arlene Sczerba Blair, who predeceased him. He later married Brenda Sutton Blair, who survives at home. He is also survived by his two sons: Allen Blair and Glenn Blair of Framingham, MA; his four granddaughters; and his step-son, Fredric Scott Clinton and his wife, Sandra of Spring Glen, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28th at the funeral home; Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate. PENNY M. LEWIS, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Penny M. Lewis, age 47 went to be with our Lord on May 14, 2014 at Westchester Medical Ctr. Valhalla, NY. Penny was born on June 25, 1965 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Robert W. McAfee and Mary Balidoy McAfee. She was a nail technician and proprietor of Fancy fingers Nail Salon in Port Jervis. She was a faithful member of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church. Penny  married Richard A. Lewis, who survives at home. she is also survived by her daughter Jordan M. Lewis at home, and her son Christopher Lewis of Matamoras, Pa.,her grand daughter Alyssa Lewis,two brothers , Larry McAfee and his wife Meg of Texas, and Gary McAfee and his wife Phillipa of Glen Spey, eight sisters, Beverly Branch and her husband Buz of Colorado, Luverne Scully  Rhoner and her husband James of Port Jervis, Doretta Reiss and her husband Ed of Glen Spey, Marilyn Sigreto and her husband Peter of Matamoras,PA., Alberta McCullough and her husband Bruce of Texas, Kathy Smith and her husband Gary of Sparrowbush, Danita McAfee and her companion Joe of Pittsburgh,PA, and Teri Guerrero and her husband Oscar of Collegeville, PA, several nieces, and nephews, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Maggie and Charles Hurtgam of Greene,NY, her brother-in-law Bobby"Lew" Lewis and his fiance Lisa Addio of Matamoras,PA, her dear and very close friend Lori Ey, and her beloved pet dog, Maui. Penny was pre-deceased by her brother, Robert McAfee,her niece Sara McAfee and her nephew Robert McAfee, III.  Not only was penny an amazing and beautiful  woman she was also a wonderful daughter,Wife, Mother, sister, and best friend,. Her real passion in life were her family and friends. Penny fought a long hard battle and through it all she never once gave up, she even kept our family laughing when we were all sad. She is the strongest women we've ever known.  Her strength has inspired others. Even through her illness she was always thinking of other people and worrying about everyone being safe and having to drive so far to visit her. Penny's beautiful smile and BIG BROWN  EYES would light up the room and keep us going.  Penny enjoyed reading,sitting out by the pool with her family and taking trips to the casino, and she also enjoyed playing candy crush. Penny was very creative when it came to family fun, she would love making up games to play and dancing around the living room. Penny especially enjoyed spending time with her dog Maui  and putting together jigsaw puzzles. There are no words to describe the love within our family. All of her great memories will continue to bring joy to the hearts of those who remain. Penny is FOREVER in our hearts and will forever be OUR LUCKY Penny. She is now in a safe place in the hands of GOD where she is finally at peace.

ROBERT WAYNE SWINGLE, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK

Robert Wayne Swingle, age 79 of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. John's Episcopal Hospital, Far Rockaway, Queens, NY.  He was born in Port Jervis, NY, on March 25, 1935, the son  of the late Henry R. and Lois Edwards Swingle.  Wayne was a retired carpenter for Future Home Technologies, in Port Jervis.  He proudly served our country during the Korean War with the US Army. He was a social member of the Tri-State Naval Ship VF W Post #7241 in Port Jervis. He married Jeanette Viola Swingle, who survives at home.  He is also survived by his daughter, Brenda Prater of the State of Florida, his brother William Swingle and his wife Toni of  Tenn., his brother-in-law Robert Keener of Sparrowbush,  several nieces and nephews including his special niece Cindy Clark and her husband Ken of Sparrowbush, and his special nephew Robert Wayne Swingle.  He was pre-deceased by his two sisters, Leah Keener and Grace Dudko, and his four brothers, Charles, Chester, Raymond and Blakely Swingle.  Private graveside services will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. FRANCES E. PALERMO, PLEASANT HILL, TENNESSEE, FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Frances E. Palermo, age 100, formerly a 67 year resident of Port Jervis, NY, passed away May 8, 2014 at Wharton Homes, Pleasant Hill, Tennessee.  She was born on  February 28, 1914 in Old Forge, PA, the daughter of the late Peter and Concetta Cristano Callis. Frances was a retired seamstress for Andmore Sportswear, Inc., in Port Jervis.  She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Madonna, #114 for over 50 years and a member of the Port Jervis Seniors and AARP.  She was the longest living member of the Port Jervis Home Bureau Sewing Circle and the "Stitch and Rip" Sewing Group.  Frances married  John Palermo on October 19, 1941, who pre-deceased her  on November 14, 1976.  She is survived by her daughter, Marie Anglin and her husband  James (Don) of Fairfield Glade, Tn., her sister, Margaret Marmo of Old Forge, Pa, and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by  eight step grandchildren and their spouses,24 step great grandchildren and seven step great great grandchildren.  Frances was pre-deceased by her four sisters, Teresa Shambe, Mary Cherundolo, Angeline Brennan and Rose Mazitelli, her three brothers, Joseph, Fiore and Ralph Callis.  Friends may visit Wednesday, May 14, from 2- 5 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis NY.  Catholic Daughters will conduct memorial services at 4 PM at the funeral home.  Prayers will be offered Thursday, May 15,  at 9:15 AM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. George Hafemann will be the celebrant. VALORIE A. ZACHRY, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Valorie A. Zachry, age 65 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at her home. She was born on December 17, 1948 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late George Hensz and Mary Alice Balch Hensz, who survives. Valorie worked as a tax clerk for the County of Pike in Milford, Penna. She is a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Valorie married John W. Zachry who survives at home. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Hensz of Matamoras, her son, Steven Hess of Port Jervis, her daughter-in-law Melanie Hess of Port Jervis, her special aunt, Noel Balch of Matamoras, and several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Rev. George Hafemann will be the celebrant. GERTRUDE JANE OELLERICH, MILL RIFT, PENNSYLVANIA

Gertrude Jane Oellerich, 87, of Mill Rift, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, New York.

She was born on September 26, 1926 in Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late William and Lila Moddle Bimson.  Gertrude was the proprietor of G & R Trophy and Awards Co., located at the Farm Plus Store in Westfall Township, PA.  Prior to permanently moving to Mill Rift, PA she was a long time resident of Staten Island for 65 years where she was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 18 years with Girl Scouts of America Troop 5-211 and an active member of her childhood parish St Albans, formerly Holy Comforter, Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday school and co-managed the annual Christmas Bazaar. Her passions were gardening, sewing, travelling and her love of her children and grandchildren.  She was affectionately known among the Mill Rift community as Grandma O.   Gertrude married the love of her life  Robert W. Oellerich on June 27, 1948 celebrating 65 years of marriage.  She is survived by her husband Robert, her son, Larry Oellerich and his wife Carolyn of Mill Rift, two daughters, Pennie Oellerich and her partner Keith Sevek of Mill Rift, and Sandra LaRocca and her husband Gerard of Mendham, NJ, seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Lauren, Tracey, Thomas Oellerich, James Sileo, Robert and Allison LaRocca and several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call Monday, May 5 from 2-4 and7-9 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 6 at 11:00 o'clock at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.  Rev. PETER PETNUCH, CUDDEBACKVILLE, NEW YORK

Peter Petnuch, Jr., age 57 of Cuddebackville, NY, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.  He was born on  February 11, 1957  in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late  Peter Petnuch and Beverly Henry Petnuch.  Peter worked as a machinist for Arlo Industries in Peekskill, NY.  He married Bernice Simon Petnuch, who survives at home.  He is also survived by his  son Peter Petnuch, III and his companion Ashley of Cornwall, NY, his two brothers,  Thomas Petnuch of  Hopewell Jct., NY and  George Petnuch of Yonkers, NY, three sisters, Dawn and Lori Petnuch both of Yonkers and Debbie  Lavarde and several nieces and nephews.  Services  were private at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home,  154 E.
