JOAN K. McHUGH, MONTAGUE, NEW JERSEY

Joan K. McHugh age 81 of Montague, New Jersey passed away April 28, 2020 in Newton, New Jersey. She was born on February 15, 1939 in Englewood, New Jersey, the daughter of Fredrick and Henrietta Olsomer Ray. Joan co-owned and operated Tri-State Steel Fabricators in Hainesville ,NJ with her late husband Michael. She was a faithful member of St. James R.C. Church, Montague, a member of the Montague Seniors, the Sandyston Seniors and the Montague Crafters Club. Joan married Michael E. McHugh who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas McHugh and his wife Maureen of Hainesville, NJ, Michael McHugh and his wife Tracy of Montague, and her daughter Colleen George of Matamoras, PA. Joan is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Kathleen, Richard, Thomas, Michele, Karlene, Melissa and her loving 12 great grandchildren, five nephews and one niece. She was pre-deceased by her sister Elizabeth Pawson. Due to the health crisis, with love and respect to Joan’s family and friends services will be private at this time. CLYDE J. MAGARELLI, Ph.D., HIGHLAND MILLS, NEW YORK

Clyde J. Magarelli, Ph.D., age 79 of Highland Mills, NY passed away suddenly April 21, 2020 at his home. He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on May 27, 1940, the son of Corrodo and Carrie Nespoli Magarelli. Clyde was a professor at the William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. He proudly served our country with the United States Army from1958 -1964. He is survived by his close and dear friend, Anna Osowick of Port Jervis. Services will be private. Maria R. Rodriguez age 83 of Port Jervis, NY passed away on April 28, 2020 at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY. She was born on October 24, 1936 in San Salvador, El Salvador. STEVEN R. DUKE, CARBONDALE, PENNSYLVANIA, FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Steven R. Duke, 74, Carbondale, died Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Carbondale Nursing Home. Born in New York City, June 4, 1945, he was the son of the late George and Margaret Brennan Duke. When he was three years old, his family moved to Greenville NY where he spent the rest of the his childhood. Steve served in the Army from July 1963 until July 1966. After basic training, he was stationed in Germany. On February 1, 1969, he was united in marriage to the former Barbara Lane. In 1972, he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served his Creator faithfully until his death, of late with the Carbondale Congregation. He deemed it a privilege to serve as a full-time minister for 12 years. Steve was a retired house painter, a job he loved for close to 30 years. He was a gifted musician who worked with many local bands in the Port Jervis area including George Day and the Day Dreamers, Mickey Barnetto's Band, Jubal, Rich Wilson and the Riverview Boys and Town and Country. His love for music stayed with him throughout his life. During his time in the nursing home, residents loved to hear him play his guitar and entertain. In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by: four daughters, Mary El Ritzel Curry, South Carolina; Sarah (Sammi) Ritzel Long and husband, Michael, Virginia; Margaret (Marnie) Duke Wood and husband, Dale, Kentucky, and Jakey Lyn Duke, at home; eight grandsons; two granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Duke and Sharon Lane; one brother-in-law, Donald Lane and his wife, Ellen; several cousins including Raymond Mahoney. Steve was preceded in death by his two brothers Charles and George Duke, three brothers-in-law, Ralph, Jake and Harry Lane and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Campbell. Memorial Services and interment will take place in Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddbackville NY, will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Lawrence A. JOHN A. CARROLL, PORT ST. LUCIE, FLORIDA, FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

John A. Carroll, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at age of 70 after battling a longtime illness. John was born August 29, 1949 to John and Antoinette Carroll of Port Jervis, NY. He was a proud graduate of the Indiana Institute of Technology, a retiree of the Federal Government where he worked as a Patent Examiner, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. John was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle and great uncle. John is survived by his mother, Antoinette Carroll, his sister Nancy Keeler (Gary), his brother Paul, his nephew Austin Carroll (Colleen), and his nieces Erin Keeler, Meghan Buffamante (Michael), Lindsay Carroll, and Lauren Buda (Ian). He also leaves behind his great nieces Shayna, Lia and Elena. John is pre-deceased by his father John "Jack" and his sister-in-law Pam. He will be dearly missed and remain forever in our hearts. MARGARET "PEGGY" NELSON, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK

Margaret “Peggy” Nelson age 75 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her home. Peggy was born on June 9, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Nels P. and Ruth Noble Nelson. She retired as a first and second grade school teacher for the Port Jervis School District after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of the New York State Retired Teacher’s Assoc. Peggy was a faithful member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis. She was vestry member of Grace Church, head of the Sunday School and Altar Guild. She often would be seen manicuring the beautiful flower gardens around Grace Church. Peggy is survived by her brother Nels P. Nelson, III of Guildhall, Vermont, her two nephews, Nels P. Nelson, IV and Christopher Eric Nelson, two great nieces and four great nephews, her step-daughter Melissa Hamilton of Pine Island, NY and three step-grandsons. She is also survived by her very close friends and care givers, Patty and Jim McCooey of Sparrowbush, Carol Brown and her family of Matamoras, and Pat Reed, her church family at Grace Church, and a host of special friends. She will be also greatly missed her devoted furbabies. Due to the health crisis, with love and respect to Peggy’s family and friends, services and cremation will be private at this time. Vicki L. Vicchiariello age 60 of Sparrow Bush, NY passed away April 23, 2020 in Suffern, NY. She was born on November 27, 1959 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of Pat and Edith Mills Trotta. Vicki worked as a laboratory technician for Kolmar Labs, Inc. in Port Jervis. She loved life and brightened everyone’s lives with her contagious smile. She loved animals and was extremely artistic. She loved being a mother, MiMi and wife. She married the love of her life, Michael Vicchiariello, who survives at home. Vicki is also survived by her loving daughter, Nicole Berberich of New Port Richey, Florida and her loving son, Michael Vicchiariello and his companion Melinda Suarez of St. Petersburg, Florida, her parents Pat and Edith Trotta of Port Jervis, her adored grandchildren, Brielle (Doodlebug) and Bryson (Dapper Dan), her sister Susie Depew and her husband Bobby of Middletown, NY, her brother Mark Trotta and his wife Heather of Port Jervis, her mother-in-law Lois Vicchiariello of Huguenot, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susie (Kevin) Carmody and Sam (Susie) Vicchiariello, her aunt Sis Leeper and uncle Kenny (Merna) Mills, her brother-n-law Raymond Kolvenbach, also, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. NANCY WALLINGFORD BAUMAN MURPHY, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Nancy Wallingford Bauman Murphy age 87 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away April 21, 2020 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. Nancy was born on May 26, 1932 in Watervliet, New York, the daughter of Francis and Lillian Masterson Wallingford. Nancy was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Matamoras and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church. She retired as a kitchen designer for Smith Plumbing and Heating Co. in Port Jervis after many years of dedicated service. Nancy married Robert H. Bauman, who pre-deceased her. She later married Francis Murphy who also pre-deceased her. Nancy is survived by her loving children; son, Michael Bauman and her is wife Laura of Fishkill, NY, daughters, Kathleen Konopa and her husband Michael of Winchester, Virginia, Carol Cordova and her husband Patrick of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, son, Thomas Bauman and his wife Mary Ellen of Lafayette, New Jersey, her beloved grandchildren; Dennis Cordova and his wife Caitlin, Vincent Cordova and his wife Christine, Andrea, Jessica, Ryan and Shannon Bauman, her beloved great grandchildren; Carter, Henry, Olivia and Isabella, her three brothers; Francis Wallingford of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Michael Wallingford and his wife Barbara of Tiverton, Rhode Island, Thomas Wallingford and his wife Cheryl of Troy, New York, several nieces and nephews. Paul Paradiso age 65 of Port Jervis, NY passed away April 17, 2020 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. Paul was born on February 8, 1955 in Queens, NY the son of Peter and Ida Magnetico Paradiso. He worked as an electrician with the I.B.E.W., Union Local #3 in New York, NY. Paul is survived by his two sons, Paul Paradiso and his wife Cindy of Patterson, New York and Daniel Paradiso and his wife Tara of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, his brother Peter Paradiso and his wife Lynn of Las Vegas, Nevada, his beloved grandchildren; Derek, Emily, Ben, Anthony, Rocco, Miabella and Vincenzo. ALEXANDRA "RUTH" ROSENCRANCE, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

On Saturday, April 18, 2020, Alexandra Ruth Rosencrance armed with a lifetime of memories and the love of her family took her final journey home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and her loved ones gone before. Alexandra was born May 11,1926 in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Known to her friends and family as Ruth, she was proud of her Scottish, English and Canadian heritage but even more proud the day she became a United States Citizen shortly after coming to America at the age of eighteen. Ruth married Ira W. Rosencrance on August 24, 1946. Together they had six children. They were married for 42 years when Ira passed on July 14, 1988. Ruth was an animal lover and spent many years with her beloved dachshund, Annie. Annie was less than 5 weeks-old and abandoned as a stray under her car. Ruth nursed her back to health and loved her for over 10 years. Many a day you could find Ruth, Ira and Annie on the front porch of their home sitting in rocking chairs watching the beautiful Delaware river flow by. Ruth is survived by her six children, Gary Rosencrance (Kathy) Greeley, PA, Donald Rosencrance (Peggy) Mill Rift PA, Richard Rosencrance (Lorna) Milford, PA, Debra Allen (Gary) Milford, PA, Michael Rosencrance (Darci) Milford, PA, Joseph Rosencrance (Katie) Matamoras, PA, her sister Shirley Shadler, Mill Rift, PA , five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ira, her mother, Violet Anthony Jamieson, her father Alexander Jamieson and her beloved granddaughter, Ashley Alexandra Katherine Allen. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to: The Dr. Ashley Alexandra Katherine Allen Memorial Nursing Scholarship. REV. DONALD COY, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

Rev. Donald Coy age 82 of Huguenot, NY went to be with our Lord on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was born on December 22, 1937 in Huguenot, NY the son of the late Zenus Jay Coy and Ellamae McCreary Coy. Presently, Rev. Coy was the pastor of Redemption Lighthouse Church in Huguenot. After graduation Don attended Orange Community College, graduating with his associate’s degree. He continued his education at SUNY New Paltz graduating on June 9, 1968 with his BA. He attended New York Theological School and enrolled at Drew University, graduating in 1971 with his Masters in Divinity. Don was a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship in Dallas, Texas. Throughout his lifetime Rev. Coy ministered at the Frankford Plains Methodist Church, Sparrowbush United Methodist Church, the Greenville United Methodist Church, The Rio Methodist Church, and the Bethel House of Prayer in Huguenot. Rev. Coy lived everyday of his life, as he preached, serving The Lord. He was a member of the Tri-State Rod & Gun Club. Don married Shirley A. Stark Coy, who survives at home. He is also survived by his four loving daughters; Dawn Bast and her husband Robert of the Town of Greenville, Sharon Mead of Huguenot, Sandra Tice and her husband John of North Carolina and Heidi Messer and her husband Larry of Port Jervis, his beloved grandchildren, Aaron, Nevin, Lauren, Timothy, Sherie, Amanda, John, Ashley, Cheyenne, Brandon and Kendyll, and his 19 beloved great grandchildren. Maryann M. Farrell age 70 of Glen Spey, NY passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. She was born on June 1, 1949 in Yonkers, NY and is the daughter of the late Cornelius Farrell and Anna Brozman Farrell. Maryann was a member of the Church of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Eldred, NY. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Paust of Eldred, NY; her son Barry Paust of Westchester County, NY; her brother Cornelius Farrell of Eldred, NY; her beloved grandchildren Mackenzie and Johnny Simonsen. Maryann was predeceased by her son Christopher Paust and her brother Edward Farrell. She was a big hearted, caring person, always thinking of others. She was a caring mother and did the best she could with what she had. She was an amazing Grandmother and her grandchildren will deeply miss her. SYLVIA-JEANNE TRIPP, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Sylvia-Jeanne Tripp age 84 of Port Jervis, NY passed away April 15, 2020 in Port Jervis, NY. She was born on February 11, 1936 in Monroe, New York, the daughter of the late Howard Wood and Edna Wood Hall and stepfather Francis L. Hall. Sylvia retired as an assembler for Kolmar Labs, Inc. in Port Jervis. Sylvia married Robert Tripp who pre-deceased her on May 4, 2015. Sylvia was a loving mom, grandmother and great grandmother spending her time with them was the joy of her life. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Balmos and her husband Harold of Port Jervis,Deborah Gamble and her husband Pat of Orange Park, Florida, her two sons, Robert Tripp, Jr. and his wife Edith of Port Jervis, and Scott Tripp and his wife Jill of Uniontown, Ohio. Sylvia is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Moose Balmos and companion Christine, Staci Zingarelli and husband James, Robert Tripp, III, Hayden and Jenna Tripp, her three great grandchildren; Jacob and Amber Balmos and Sawyer Zingarelli, her cousin, Dorean Reilly of Matamoras, PA, one niece and two nephews. JAMES C. GILL, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

James C. Gill age 90 of Port Jervis, NY was called home on April 14, 2020 at Valley View Center in Goshen, NY. He was born on April 28th,1929 in Port Jervis, NY the son of Richard and Ethel Lewis Gill. Jim retired as an expert auto mechanic from Ed Smith Chevrolet in Port Jervis after many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of the Milford Bible Church in Milford, PA. Jim was a 74 year member, Past Captain and Past Lieutenant of the Howard Wheat Engine Co, #4, Port Jervis, Fire Dept. He was a former Grand Marshall of the Port Jervis Fireman’s Parade. James C. Gill Day was proclaimed by the County of Orange and The City of Port Jervis, in Jim’s honor. Jim married Ethel Dewey, who survives at home. He is also survived by his two daughters, Donna Mitchell and her husband Gene of Matamoras, PA, Deborah Gill of North Wales, PA. He is also survived by his brother Robert Gill of Dumont, New Jersey, his brother-in-law Robert Dewey of Chicago, IL., his beloved grandchildren; Gene, Jenna, Kyle and his fiancé Shelby, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was pre-deceased by his three brothers, Harry, Richard and Roy Gill, his four sisters, Betty Addy, Beatrice Litts, Ione Howell and Doris Hall. He had a sincere love for his God, family and community. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be so sorely missed. CHRISTOPHER J. PARRY, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

Christopher J. Parry age 43 of Huguenot, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY. He was born on October 26, 1976 in Brooklyn, NY and is the son of Vincent Parry and Mary Jane Moore who survive. Christopher worked as an Alarm Installer for JCI in Harriman, NY. Julia “Julie” Cochrane age 73 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 at home. She was born on March 4, 1947 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of Raymond and Julia Caul. Julie worked for Jamesway Dept. Store in Montague, New Jersey for many years. She later worked at Turkey Hill in Matamoras, Pennsylvania. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sparrowbush Engine Co. Julie married George W. Cochrane, who survives at home. She is also survived by her two daughters, Terry Neenan of Sparrowbush and Georgia Mosher and her husband Morgan of Port Jervis, her beloved grandchildren; Zachery and Samantha Neenan, Joshua, Michael, Morgan and Andrew Mosher and Casey Larson, her beloved great grandchildren; Hailie, Austin, Hunter, Kaiden, Aubrey, Andie, Olivia, Wyatt, Broc and Gunner, several nieces and nephews. Robert C. DeGroat, age 75 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 in Port Jervis, NY. Robert was born on January 31, 1945 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Harold and Frances Smith DeGroat. Robert retired from Bon Secours Community after many years of dedicated service. In his earlier years Robert was a member of the Port Jervis Men’s bowling Team. He is survived by his brother, Harold DeGroat of Sparrowbush, NY. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law Terri DeGroat of Port Jervis, his extended family, the Marchesin, Felter, Gardner, Stellato and Clawson families. Robert was pre-deceased by his brother David DeGroat, his sister-in-law, Charlotte DeGroat, and his long time companion, Ralph Stellato. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. CHRISTOPHER ERIC CARLSEN, DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA , FORMERLY OF HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

Christopher Eric Carlsen age 45 of Daytona Beach, Florida and formerly of Huguenot, NY passed away on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Advent Health Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. Christopher was born on Yom Kippor, September 26, 1974 in Port Jervis, the son of Charles and Constance Carlsen. He graduated from the Port Jervis High School with the class of 1992. He was a graduate of the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Illinois. He was a true American Patriot and Navy Veteran of the Gulf War. He proudly served on the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 from 1992-1994. Christopher worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, he was a long haul truck driver and was a fleet manager/equipment operating engineer for USMA. Chris was an avid car enthusiast. His proudest car moment was as a member of The Carlisle Crew when he became the recipient of the "Chips Champion Award" at Carlisle, Pa in August 2017 with his black, C4 generation Corvette. Chris was a Die-Hard Yankee Fan no matter where he called home. A family statement read, "Chris loved his family and friends with all of his heart and soul. He was the most loyal, tried and true man you could ever meet. If anyone called in need he would be there as fast as his car would go..almost. He rarely missed a call. As you cruise with the Angels Chris may your big loving heart be made whole again and filled with peace. We love you. Until we meet again." Chris is survived by his daughter, Gianna Rose Carlsen, his "peanut" and his faithful fur companion Jazzy. parents Charles and Constance Carlsen, his sister Cassandra Carlsen and her partner Darryl McKeeby, and his beloved nephew Jacob Paul Fiorito, several aunts and uncles and cousins, his best friend Jeff Greene and his family. JOHN E. DECKER, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

John E Decker of Huguenot NY. Passed away on April 11th, 2020 in Middletown, NY. John was born in Port Jervis NY on August 17th,1944. He was the son of Amos and Lucy Osborne Decker. He was nicknamed " Sonny Boy" by his father and was always referred by that name at family gatherings. John worked for the Town of Deerpark Highway Department as a machine equipment operator, and mechanic for 27 years. He was a founding member of the Huguenot Fire Dept. Surviving at home is his wife, Maureen Moore Decker of 53 years, his son John and fiance Stephanie Freeman. He is also survived by his sister Stella M. Reil, his sister in law Melvenia Conklin, and her two daughters Anita Muir, and husband John, Sheila Ladika, and husband Fred who were like his own children. His longtime friend, and hunting companion Natale Costa, and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Ross, and husband Glenn, and Naomi Clara Reilly and husband James. John was a man with a big heart always willing to lend a helping hand. He was our Mr. Fix It. He will be be missed greatly by his family. DOUGLAS C. LOVELACE, WESTBROOKVILLE, NEW YORK

Douglas C. Lovelace age 94 of Westbrookville, NY passed away April 8, 2020 in Middletown. He was born on November 19, 1925 in Durbin, West Virginia the son of Clarence and Minnie Bice Lovelace. Douglas proudly served our country during WW II with the US Navy and was a member of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis. He retired as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825, Middletown, NY. Doug married Beth A. Glick Lovelace who survives at home. He is also survived by his children; Gail Patterson of Port Jervis, Douglas Lovelace, Jr. and his wife Mary of Carlisle, PA, Robert Lovelace and his wife Diane of Bangor, PA, Bonnie Davis of Winston-Salem, NC, Ronney Lovelace and his wife Nena of Harlingen, Texas, Tom Lovelace and his wife Pattie of Middletown, NY, his step-dfaughgter, Teri Androvette and her husband Norman of Port Jervis, and Roy Hallenbeck and his wife Helen of Watkins Glen, NY, his two brothers Jim Lovelace of Milford, PA, and Paul Lovelace of Elkhart, IN, his sister Roseann Arace of Kissimmee, Fl., 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Douglas was pre-deceased by his daughter Shirley Strohl and his granddaughter Laurie Lovelace. GENE D. LEWIS, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Gene D. Lewis age 71 of Matamoras, Pennyslvania passed away April 6, 2020 in Port Jervis. He was born on December 14, 1948 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Eugene M. and Margaret Beemer Lewis. Gene served with the US Air Force in 1968. He attended the Hope Evangelical Church in Matamoras. Gene retired from sales with the Orange County Plumbing and Heating Supply Co. in Middletown, NY after many years of service. After his retirement Gene was employed by the Rohrer Bus Co. as school bus driver for the Delaware Valley School District. He dedicated his life to helping and serving others as a 50 year member of the Westfall Fire Dept.. He was a Past Chief, and Past President. Gene held every line office and every office of the officers with the Westfall Fire Dept. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local union 210 in Newburgh, NY, a member of the Local #667 Musicians Union and a member of the Port Jervis Band. Gene married Sharon L. Strouse Lewis who survives at home. He is also survived by his son Marty Lewis and his wife Jessica of Matamoras, his beloved grandchildren; Jesse, Julianne, Adalie, Kaylee and Chase. Gene is survived by his numerous in laws, several cousins and 50+ nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all. BETTE WARNER SMITH, FERNANDINA BEACH, FLORIDA, FORMERLY OF MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Bette Warner Smith, 96, formerly of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away March 25. 2020 in the comfort of Community Hospice & Palliative Care’s Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, FL. She was born October 8, 1923 in Port Jervis, N.Y., the daughter of Carl S. Warner and Helen Durant Warner. She lived most of her life in Matamoras, PA. She graduated from Matamoras High School in 1941 and attended Susquehanna University. She left college to join the U.S .Navy (WAVES) during World War II, and served as a Yeoman First Class at Boston Navy Yard. Her love of and service to her country filled her with lifelong pride. She served as Matamoras Borough Secretary for 30 years and was also employed by Pike County Soil Conservation. She was a charter member of the Keystone Community Club; served on the board of Port/Pike Chapter American Red Cross; was active in the Matamoras Alumni Association, Devore Quinn Post 486 American Legion, and many other community and civic organizations. She was a lifelong member and trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Jervis. She was preceded death in by her husband, Frances J. Smith and her parents. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Warner F. and Sue Smith of Elizabethtown, PA.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Ryder and Dante DeFlorio; Kerry and Robert Woods all of Fernandina Beach, FL. Six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is her cousin Nancy Whitney of Vero Beach, FL. and many special friends. Due to the current health crisis, with love and respect to Bette’s family and friends, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY Bette’s ashes will be buried next to her husband and her parents in Pine Grove Cemetery in her beloved Matamoras, PA. JOHN "JACK" REILLY, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

John “Jack” Reilly age 76 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away April 2, 2020 in Port Jervis. He was born on January 31, 1944 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late John F. Reilly, Sr. and Gertrude “Billie” Norman Reilly. Jack retired as Assistant Vice President of TD Bank in Monticello, NY. He was a faithful member, eucharistic minister and altar server of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Matamoras, PA. Jack also was a faithful member and eucharistic minister of Our Lady Of Lourdes RC Church in Dunedin, Florida. He proudly served our country with the US Navy from 1963-1967. He was plank owner aboard the USS Richard E. Byrd DDG-23, a guided missile destroyer, serving in the Pacific and Atlantic Theater. Jack was a member of the DeVore-Quinn American Legion Post #486, Matamoras, PA, a past president of the Howard Wheat Engine Co. # 4, Port Jervis, Fire Dept. He was past president, treasurer and assistant coach for the Cardinals, Port Jervis Pop Warner Football, he was former member of the Advisory Board of the Port Jervis Salvation Army, a member and past president of the Port Jervis Rotary Club, a member and past chairman of the Port Jervis Housing Authority, a member of the Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of Mercy Community Hospital, Port Jervis. Jack is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorean Cook Reilly. He is also survived by his son Kevin Reilly and his wife Jessica of Port Jervis, his beloved grandsons, Owen, Evan, Joshua and Jakson, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Michael Reilly and his sister-in-law Betty Reilly. Due to the current health crisis, with love and respect to Jack’s family and friends, services will be private at this time. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis. EDWARD D. HAYCOOK, CANTON, NEW YORK, FORMERLY OF CUDDEBACKVILLE, NEW YORK

Edward D. Haycook, Jr., age 74, passed away March 31, 2020 at his home in Canton, New York surrounded by his loving family. Ed graduated from Cornell University in 1967 and joined the United States Air Force after graduation. While in the military he served as a Pilot, Flight Instructor and Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Ed retired from his distinguished military career in 1995 as a Lieutenant Colonel and Commander of the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron of the 105th Airlift Group at Stewart Airbase. Throughout his life he was involved in agriculture and often remarked his experiences and leadership in 4-H made him what he was. Ed and his wife Janet also owned and operated a small dairy farm in Bullville, New York. In 2005, soon after retiring from dairy farming, they moved to Canton, New York. Ed was an avid fan of his grandchildren’s sporting events and was always on the sidelines (in person or by video) cheering them on. He also served as Trustee of the United Methodist Church in Canton. Ed is survived by his wife Janet (Detch) of 54 years, son Michael Haycook (Triva) of Canton, New York, daughter Lisa Klumpp (Scott) of Lockport, New York and sister Barbara Hanson, Peoria, Illinois. He is also survived by four grandchildren Jennifer Haycook, Matthew Haycook, Joshua Klumpp and Christopher Klumpp. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Trisha Michelle Haycook in 1975, father Edward Haycook Sr. in 1990 and mother Elsie Haycook in 2013.
