EMOGENE H. SWEENEY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Emogene H. Sweeney, age 92 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis.  She was born on  March 26, 1922 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late  Eugene and Vera May Halpin Hawkins.  Emogene worked as a waitress for Homer's Coffee Shop in her earlier years. She was  a beautician, owning and operating her beauty shop for many years.  Emogene was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis, a member of the River Artists Group, and the Pike County Arts and Crafts Assoc., in Milford, PA. She was a student of Matilda Grech, in her  water color class for over 50 years.   Emogene is survived by her brother William R. Hawkins and his wife Vera of Port Jervis.  She is also survived by her nephews, Jeffrey Hawkins, Esq., and his wife Linda, Eric Hawkins and his wife Terry, Michael, Bruce and Gerald Porter, her nieces, Jennifer Lecce and her husband Carl Lecce, MD, Jeanette Gallagher, Patricia Koehn, and Nancy Porter, her grand nieces and nephews, James, Lauren, Ann Marie, William and Daniel Hawkins, her cousins, Richard Hawkins and his wife Carol, Jean Crine, Marjorie and Douglas Headley and her God Daughter, Kathleen Krupp. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Wednesday, July 2, at 11:30 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church, 85 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. David Lee Carlson will officiate. Interment will be private at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made in Emogene's name to the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society, Route 209, Port Jervis, NY  12771.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. GENE H. CLARK, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Gene H.Clark age 81, of Port Jervis, New York, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Milford Senior Care Facility. He was born on April 30,1933 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Burton and Edith Babcock Clark. He was the proud owner and operator of Clark Motor Sales, Inc., along with his wife Elaine since 1957 in Port JervisHe was fortunate enough to truly enjoy his life's work. He was one of the original founders of the Port Jervis Softball League and a participant in the 1st annual Port Jervis Soap Box Derby which he continued to support throughout the years. He was a life member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645, B.P.O.E. He married his high school sweetheart Elaine Winters Clark on May 6, 1956, celebrating 58 years of marriage. He is survived by his beloved wife Elaine at home, his three daughters, Susan Martin and her husband Tony of Port Jervis, Linda Hensz and her husband John of Narrowsburg, NY, Karen and Ed Predmore of Port Jervis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren and her husband Shawn, Ryan and his companion Trisha, Devin Culver, Zach Martin, Alex, Caleb, Jacob, Jason, Rebekah, and Isannah Hensz, his two great grandchildren, Kayla and David, His two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Simpson of Port Jervis and Julene Winters of Wilmington, Delaware, his niece, Doreen Semerano and several nephews. Gene was pre-deceased by his step brothers, Jack and Harry Clark. A family statement read, "He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his family and his beloved cat, "Bootsie". Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, from 4-7 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.Elks memorial services will be held at 5:30 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, June 25 at the funeral home with Sister Cathy Crowley officiating. Interment will be private. DOROTHY J. FARLEY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Dorothy J. Farley, age 73 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home.  She was born on  July 17, 1940 in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of the late  John and Dorothy Bissinger Farley.  Dorothy was a retired administrative assistant for Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Washington, D.C.  She is survived by her son John P. Sullivan and his wife Jennifer of Pawling, NY, her daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Sullivan  of Sparrowbush, two grandchildren, Vincent Apicella and John Sullivan.  Dorothy was pre-deceased by her  son David Sullivan.  Services will be private.  Cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pennsylvania.  Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to a charity of donor's choice.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154  E. MAGGIE B. JENKS, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Maggie B. Jenks, age 85 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Milford Senior Care Facility, Milford, PA. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Westbrookville, NY, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Emmeline Brown Benedict. Maggie married Henry H. Jenks, who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her two sons, Russell A. Jenks and his wife Sharon of Matamoras, William Jenks and his wife Linda of Scranton, PA, her daughter, Susan Calvitti and her husband Jerome of Danville, Virginia, her grandchildren, Melissa Mieszkuc and her husband Phil, Michael Jenks and his wife Cindy, Patrick Jenks and Jonathan Hill, her great grandchildren, Yadi, Taylor, Aubree, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Kenneth H. Jenks. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 17, from 1-2 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Don Coy will officiate. Interment will take place at Westbrookville Cemetery, Westbrookville, NY. RAYMOND S. GANSARSKI, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Raymond S. Gansarski, age 82 of Port Jervis, NY and formerly a long time resident of Warwick, NY, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was born on May 15, 1932 in Mayfield, PA, the son of the late John and Sophia Uliasz Gansarski. Raymond proudly served our country during the Korean War, with the US Army. He worked as an assembler for Ford Motor Co., in Mawah, NJ and later as correctional officer for the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility at Warwick, NY. Raymond was a faithful member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis and a life time member of the Warwick VFW Post #4662. He enjoyed going to Casinos and he was an avid Phillies and Flyers fan. Raymond married Dorothy Russell Gansarski on November 1, 1958, celebrating 55 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Dorothy at home, his two daughters, Mary F. Way and her husband Richard of Johnstown, PA., Joan M. Orr and her husband Anthony of Port Jervis, His son, Raymond Gansarski of Tobyhanna, PA, his sister, Florence Gansarski of Mayfield, PA, seven grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica Orr, Cody, Emily and Julie Way, Chloe and Shelby Gansarski, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Chester, Joseph, Stanley, Walter, John, Leonard, Edward, Adolph and his sister, Stella Smith. Visitation will be held Monday, June 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Prayers will be offered Tuesday, June 17, at 9:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Rev. George Hafemann will be the celebrant. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis. HARRY "TOM" GALANAKIS, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Harry "Tom" Galanakis, age 70 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at  St. Claire's, Dover  General  Hospital, Dover, NJ.  Tom was born in  Jersey City, New Jersey, on  March 18, 1944, the son of the late  Thomas and Florence Turner Galanakis.  He retired as correctional officer for the Orange County Sheriff's Dept., Goshen, NY.  Tom was a life member of the Howard Wheat Engine Co. #4, Port Jervis Fire Dept., and enjoyed  the Friday morning Breakfast Club at the fire house with his fellow firemen.    In the year 2004, Tom was Co-Grand Marshall for the Port Jervis  Annual Firemen's Parade.  He was an avid  Mets and Giants Fan, enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.  Tom  married Sherill Southers  Galanakis on  July 1, 1989, who survives at home.  He is also survived by his son Harry  Galanakis and his companion Kathy Cross of Port Jervis, his three brothers,  Joseph Mills and his wife Deanna, Timothy Mills and his wife Diane all of Port Jervis,  James Mills and his wife June of Matamoras, PA,  two sister, Linda Murphy and  her husband  Michael of Virginia, Cheryl Fuller and her companion Wayne Lauer-Mills, his father-in-law Richard Savannah, Sr. of Port Jervis,  sisters-in-law,  Kathleen Decker and her husband Obie of Cuddebackville,  Diane Predmore and her husband Richard of Sparrowbush,  Cindy Ellison and he husband Jim of Matamoras, brother-in-law Roger Savannah and his companion Michael of Port Jervis,  Step-brother-in-law  Richard Savannah, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Matamoras, several nieces, nephews, cousins, including his special cousins Sharon and Russell Jenks, his extended family and his loving pet cat, "Midnight".  He was pre-deceased by his  step-father, George Mills, Sr.,  step-mother, Doris Galanakis, his brother George Mills, Jr., and two days before his passing , he was pre-deceased by his  mother-in-law, Betty Savannah.  Tom fought a courageous battle with several different illnesses for many years.  His compassion  and kindness towards others was ever present through his warm smile  and words, he will be sadly missed.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Firematic services will be held at 7:45 PM at the funeral home with Rev. George Hafemann as chaplain.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 10:30 AM  at the funeral home with Rev. FRANK CORRAO, SHOHOLA, PENNSYLVANIA

Frank Corrao, age 72 of Shohola, Pennsylvania, passed away  Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.  He was born on  September 22, 1941 in  Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late  Anthony and  Louise Alfano Corrao.  Frank retired from C& D Battery, Inc., in Huguenot, NY.  He is survived by his wife Rose Davis at home, his step-children,  Clinton Terpening of Lexington, Kentucky,  Roxanne Marie Howland of Port Jervis, and Gene  Charles Terpening, Jr. of  Littleton, Colorado, his sister, Mary Ann Corrao of Brooklyn, NY, his nephew,  Harry Mortimer, great niece,  Hazel Farren, seven grandchildren and one great grandson.   Cremation will take place at MacLennan Hall Crematory, Milford, Pennsylvania.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E.
