VIRGINIA MARCIA, MILFORD , PENNSYLVANIA

Virginia Marcia age 95  of Milford, Pennsylvania passed away Monday  August 15, 2016 at Milford Senior Care, Milford, Pennsylvania.  She was born April 24, 1921 in New York City, NY the daughter of  Francesco and Nancy Marasa.  Virginia retired as a secretary for  Volkswagen of America in New Jersey.  She is survived by her sister  Josephine Carreras of LaGuna Niguel, California, her two nephews, Steven Carreras of LaGuna Beach, California and Robin Carreras and his wife Margaret of  Newport Beach, Calif, several nieces and nephews.  Services were private at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. PATRICIA ANN HEMION, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Patricia Ann Hemion, 75 of Port Jervis, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Patricia was born in Mahwah, NJ on May 7, 1941 to the late Sherman and Eleanor Moulton. She was a devoted wife to the late Roy Hemion of 40 years. Survivors include her best friend and significant other, William “Bub” Gray; she was beloved mother to Roy Hemion of Marlboro, NY, Roger Hemion and his wife, Jessica of New Windsor, NY, Patricia Mantz and her fiance, George Sauschuck of Port Jervis and Dennis Hemion and his wife, Debbie of Port Jervis. Surviving also are her 13 grandchildren: Alicia, Candice, Roy, Justin, Kyle, Roger, Kelly, Brian, Kim, C.J., Kristie, Tiffany and Tori and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Richard Moulton and his wife, Barbara of Milford, CT, Keith Moulton and his wife, Ruth of Middletown, NY, Reade Moulton and his wife, Maryellen of Piffard, NY, Kenneth Moulton and his wife, Arlene of Port Charlotte, FL, Ronald Moulton and his wife, Dottie of Rocky Point, NC, Glen Moulton and his wife, Charlene of Burgaw, NC; her sisters: Beverly Hogancamp and her husband, Donald, JoAnn Sickles and her husband, Terry, all of Port Jervis, Kathleen Sicina and her husband, Danny of Havelock, NC, several nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by a brother, Robert Moulton and a sister, Joyce Moulton. Patricia was a retired Teamsters Local 445 worker from A&W Products in Port Jervis after devoting 30 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Patricia was the loving matriarch who always put family first. She loved everyone. She was a very strong woman who battled cancer courageously for years which first began when she was only 45 years old. She had the will and desire to never give up the fight. She never complained, shed a tear or felt sorry for herself. She always had a smile on her face and was always worrying about everyone else even to the end. She will be missed by everyone whoever had the fortune to know her. Patricia was truly one of a kind who loved to spend time with her family, visit casinos, watch her favorite soap opera and just be there for everyone. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 30 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 31 at the funeral home with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Interment will take place at The Brick Church Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY. DENNIS W. SIMMONS, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

DENNIS W. SIMMONS April 6, 1951 - August 22, 2016 Port Jervis, NY Dennis W. Simmons, age 65, of Port Jervis, NY passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at home. He was born on April 6, 1951 in Port Jervis the son of David C. Simmons, Jr. and Kathryn E. Monahan Simmons. Dennis worked as a Acting Deputy Superintendent Reception Classification/Senior Correction Counselor for the NYS Dept. of Corrections at Otisville, NY. Dennis graduated from Port Jervis High School with the class of 1969. He was a member of the ALL-DUSO Football Sports Writers Team 1967, 1968; the ALL-DUSO Football Coaches Team 1967, 1968 and football player of the year in 1968 DUSO Coaches Team and Sports Writers Team; President of the Varsity Club 1968-69; He was Football Player of the Year 1968-Area 845 Team, and Captain of the 1968 PJHS Football Team; He was the DUSO League Wrestling Champion 1968 & 1969; Dennis attended USMA from July 1, 1969 - February 22, 1971. He was a member of the West Point Class of 1973. He graduated from SUNY Excelsior College in 1981 earning his BS in General Studies. Dennis served 24 years with the NY Air National Guard as a Senior Master Sergeant and Air Freight Superintendant at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, NY. His various Military Commendations include: the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terror Expeditionary medal, the Air Force Expeditionary Medal with Gold Border, the Outstanding Unit Award with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal with 2 Bronze Star Attachments. He was deployed to the Middle East from 2003-2004 in support of Iraqi Freedom-Enduring Freedom. He was one of three SNCO's and three officers to run Cargo and Passenger operation for the largest US Airport in AOR. When he left he was commended by the Commander for putting the operation four months ahead of schedule. Dennis's civic accomplishments included 13 years of coaching the Port Jervis High School Football Team; coaching four years of Port Jervis Modified Wrestling; Life member and Past Commander of the Roosa-Fleming VF W Post #161, Port Jervis; Member and Past Commander of the James C. Bilz American Legion Post #685; Coordinator of the Charles G. Croopin Memorial Scholarship; 43 year member of the Port Jervis Fire Dept; 42 year member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks #645; member and Eucharistic Minister of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis; 4th Degree member of the Port Jervis Knights of Columbus, Council #471; member of Division 4, Ancient Order of the Hibernians; Aide to Grand Marshall-Mid Hudson St. Patrick's Day Parade, 2015; Life member of the Viet Nam Veterans of America; member of the Iraqi Afghanistan Veterans Assoc; member of the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Honor Flight and he enabled over 400 World War II veterans to fly to Washington, D.C. to see the World War II memorial; member of the Port Jervis Chamber of Commerce; member of the Neversink Valley Area Museum and Minisink Valley Area Museum; member of the Port Jervis Republican Committee, member of the Orange County Republican Executive Committee; past member of Congresswoman Sue Kelly Veterans Advisory Committee and Congresswoman Nan Hayworth Veterans Advisory Committee; past Councilman Port Jervis Common Council and Chairman of the West End Park Committee, enabling the celebration of 9/11 Ceremony in the park on September 11, 2002. He was Orange County Legislator, District 13 representing Deerpark, Port Jervis, and Mount Hope, he was appointed Commissioner of Jurors for Orange County; he was admitted to the Port Jervis High School Hall of Fame Class of 2014; Dennis held a General Class License with the Ham Radio Operators, call sign K2OKL. Dennis's strong patriotism and love of community, was certainly demonstrated as he dedicated his life to serve and protect others. Dennis took great pleasure and pride in coaching the young men of Port Jervis hoping to not only teach them about football and make them strong players, but about life and being good citizens. He married Carla M. Irwin Simmons who survives at home. Dennis is also survived by his daughter, Kimberly Wortman and her husband, Rick of Vestal, NY; his brothers: David Simmons and his wife, Carol of Port Jervis, Daniel Simmons and his wife, Molly of Ft. Myers, Florida, Timothy Simmons and his wife, Linda of Port Jervis; two grandchildren, Ashley and Erick Wortman, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, August 25 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 8 p.m. Firematic services will be held Thurs. evening at 8:30 p.m. Prayers will be offered 9 a..m., Friday, August 26 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant. Interment will follow with military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis. JANNY SYBRANDY, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Janny Sybrandy age 75 of Matamoras, PA passed away Tuesday, August 16. 2016 at Middletown, NY. She was born on August 24, 1940 in Bruinisse, Holland the daughter of Cornelius and Jozina Wesdorp van Gilst. Janny was the former co-owner of Sybrandy's Deli in Matamoras for many years. She later retired as a cafeteria worker for the Delaware Valley School District in Westfall Twshp, PA. Janny was a faithful member of the Deerpark Reformed Church in Port Jervis. She was a Deacon, Elder, Choir member and Treasurer of the Church. She was a dedicated member of the Deerpark Reformed Church Women for many years. Janny married Ignatius "John" Sybrandy who survives at home. She is also survived by her four sons, Cornelius A. Sybrandy and his wife Vanessa Primavera of Marriottsville, MD, Paul George Sybrandy and his wife Diana of Matamoras, Johannes P. Sybrandy and his wife Amber of Dingmans Twshp., PA, George Rodgers and his wife Kathy of Oak Ridge, NJ, two daughters, Anna M. Rolando and her husband Edward of Hewitt, NJ, Patricia C. Fernot and her companion Kevin, of Vernon, NJ, and 20 grandchildren. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, August 22 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. ROBERT C. RITCHIE, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Robert C. Ritchie age 60 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Tuesday August 16th 2016 surrounded by his family. Bob was born on July 4, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY the son Robert and Patricia Martin Ritchie. He is survived by his wife Susan H. Gillinder, his daughter Sarah Butto and her husband Joe, his daughter Claire Ritchie, and his beloved granddog Velvet. He is also survived by his mother Patricia Ritchie, brother Michael Ritchie and his husband Bob Martorano, sister Debbie Ditoto and her husband Anthony, brother Jimmy Ritchie, sister in law Lyn Mack and her husband Brant, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father Robert W. Ritchie, father in law Edwin H. Gillinder and mother in law Jeanne Gillinder. Bob was an active member of the community. He served many years as a councilman for the Second Ward for the City of Port Jervis. He was Chairman of the Port Jervis Republican Committee and coach for Port Jervis Youth Soccer. Bob worked as a Help Desk Supervisor for the Orange County Government in Goshen. Bob truly loved the City of Port Jervis. He dedicated himself to trying to make the city he called home a better place. Bob considered it a privilege to serve the people of Port Jervis, he cared very much about those he represented. Those that knew or worked with Bob considered him to be a gentleman and honorable man. After his family, Bob’s love was the New York Rangers. He enjoyed nothing more than taking his family and friends to Madison Square Garden. He loved to share his passion and enthusiasm for the sport and his team. Every year he looked forward to going to opening night with his girls to partake in everything Rangers Bob was extremely proud of his girls and loved his family more than words could ever express. He was always there, whether it was traveling for AAU basketball, coaching youth soccer, or just hanging out in the backyard, you could always count on him. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Friday, August 19th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 20, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Cassidy officiating. Interment will follow at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY. Julia M. Goble age 83 of Matamoras, PA passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Port Jervis. She was born on May 16, 1933 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of Salvatore and Madeline Salva Prisco. Julia worked at Jeff's Garden Shop in Matamoras for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA. She married David L. Goble, Sr. who pre-deceased her. Julia is survived by her daughter, Donna Mance and her husband Jeffrey, her son David Goble, Jr. and his wife Earlene, her brother Salvatore Prisco and his wife Delores all of Matamoras. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Amy Mahoney and her husband Scott, Becky McKean and her husband Sean, Karina Vincent and her husband Brian, and David Goble; her great grandchildren;Gavin, Landon, Logan, Liam, Hayden, Kiera, David, Adrian and Adelynn, nieces, nephews and cousins. Edward Sierra age 78 of Matamoras, PA passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his home. He was born in Puerto Rico on February 8, 1938 the son of Edward and Benedicta Ramos Sierra. He proudly served our country with the US Navy during the Korean War. Edward worked as a painter for ATT at Morristown, NJ. Edward was a faithful member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. He married Antonia Ramos Sierra who survives at home. He is also survived by his two daughters; Benita Sierra-Clark and her husband Tom of Scranton, PA, Diana Sierra of Matamoras, his two sons; Edwin Sierra and his wife Michele of Town of Greenville, Heriberto Sierra and his companion RhondaSue Myers of Creedmoor, N.C., his two sisters; Lydia Sierra of Frederick, MD and Luz Estelle Sierra of San Juan, Puerto Rico, his brother Jesus "Cano" Sierra of Manhattan, eight grandchildren; Christine, Raymond, Robert, Kathleen, Angelica, Jessica, Mariah, Antonio, two great grandchildren Ashton and Autumn, several nieces and nephews. Betty L. Reilly age 63 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis  She was born on August 6, 1952 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of George H. Kurtz, Jr. and Leila Quick Kurtz.  Betty retired as a developmental aid for The New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities Hudson Valley DDSO, Thiells, NY.  She married Michael K.  Reilly who survives at home.  She is also survived by her three sons; Edward J. Reilly and Alicia of Sparrowbush, Robert R. Reilly and Sarah of Sparrowbush, Timothy M. Reilly of Port Jervis,  two daughters; Bridget C. Reilly of Huguenot, Lisa M. Reilly and Lou of Huguenot, four sisters; Barbara Ogrodnick of Sparrowbush,  Nancy Howell of Port Jervis, Sheila Roberts of Glen Spey, Beth Morris of Sparrowbush,  her brother George Michael Kurtz of Port Jervis, 15 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Betty was pre-deceased by her brothers, Thomas, Daniel and David Kurtz and her sister  Julia Ellson.  Visitation will be held 2-4 PM Friday, August 5th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
