MICHAEL J. HELT, SR., HAWLEY, PENNSYLVANIA, FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK AND SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK

Michael J. Helt, Sr., age 64 of Hawley, PA, formerly of Port Jervis and Sparrowbush, NY, passed away  Wednesday, July 22, 2015 the Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA. He was born on November 25, 1950 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of  Charles A. and Marion Elaine Skinner Helt.

Michael worked as a communications service technician for General Telephone and later for Lackawaxen Tele Communications in Lackawaxen, PA. He was a former member of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church.
Michael married Terry Ann Knight Helt, who survives at home. He is also survived by his two sons, Michael J. Helt, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Matamoras, PA; and Andrew Helt and his wife, Corrine of Forest City, PA; his daughter, Rebecca Helt of Hawley, PA; seven grandchildren, Michel Helt, III, John and Nicole Helt, Jayden, Kylie, Emily and Julia Kangal.
Services will be private. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY  12553.

MARGARET McLAUGHLIN STRUCIC, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Margaret McLaughlin  Strucic  age 55 of Port Jervis, NY died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Cornell Medical Ctr., New York, NY.  She was born on  June 22, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of William  and Margaret  Agrella McLaughlin Mills. Margaret worked as a licensed cosmetologist.  She was a communicant of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis.  Margaret is survived by her mother Margaret Mills, and her step-father James Mills of Port Jervis, her sons, Matthew Strucic and his wife  Rachel of North Carolina, Kristopher Strucic of Long Island,  her daughter Donna Strucic and her fiancé  Israel Castro of Long Island, three grandchildren Evan, Brianna and Christian, three brothers,  William McLaughlin and his wife  Laura of  Florida, NY, Christopher  McLaughlin of Port Jervis,  Jason Mills and his wife Andrea of Milford, PA, her sister Carol Nivens and her companion Mark Rutt of Port Jervis, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her father William McLaughlin. Visitation  will be held Friday, July 31 from  2-6 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Prayers will be offered Friday afternoon at the funeral home.  Cremation will be private.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society, Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771. LAURENCE D. MURRAY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Laurence D. Murray, age 91 of Port Jervis passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 24, 1924 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Francis and Susan Murray.  Larry retired from Skydyne Aeronautics Inc. in Port Jervis as a draftsman.

He was a faithful member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Port Jervis and a former vestry member of the church.  He was a member of the Port Jervis Fire Dept., Neversink Engine Co. #1 for 61 years. He served as the Grand Marshall of the Annual Firemen's Parade in 2008.

Larry's family would like to thank his care givers: Tracy, Pam, Nickie, JoAnn, Jenn, and Jeanette. He loved his "angels" who took such loving and compassionate care of him during his illness.

A family statement reads: "Dad made a lasting impression on everyone he met with his charm and sense of humor, only surpassed by his devoted love for his family."

Larry married Alice C. Goodspeed Murray, who survives at home. He is also survived by his two daughters: Agnes L. Clark, and Kathy Pope and her husband, Dennis, all of Port Jervis; his son, Laurence J. Murray and his wife, Diane of Phoenix, AZ; his brother, Robert J. Murray of Port Jervis; his beloved grandchildren: Caryn Stuart and her husband, Brian, Sheila Clark, Scott Ryerson, and Laura Clark; his great grandchildren: Stephen, Tiffany, Alexa, Devon and Paige; his great great grandchildren: Stevie, Aiden, Benny, Louis and several nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his two sisters: Marilyn Borkenhagen and Frances Hosking.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 28th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Firematic services will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29th at The Grace Episcopal Church, 84 Seward Ave., Port Jervis; Rev. David Lee Carlson will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.

Memorial contributions may be made in Laurence's name to the Grace Episcopal Church, 84 Seward Ave., Port Jervis, NY 12771.

ANN P. JENNINGS, CUDDEBACKVILLE, NEW YORK


Ann P. Jennings age 78 of Cuddebackville, NY formerly  of Rockland County died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Middletown, NY.  She was born on March 25,1937 in Hackensack, New Jersey the daughter of  George and Mary Bigger Terhune.  Ann proudly served our country during the Korean War with the US Army.  She retired as a school bus driver for the Washingtonville School District. She was a faithful member of the  Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Hillburn, NY.  Ann married Louis E.  Jennings who survives at home.  She is also survived by her daughter Marcie Jennings  at home,  her three sons, Michael Penfold and his wife Lena of  Fort Lee, New Jersey,Scott Jennings of Cornwall,NY Wayne E. Jennings and his wife  Shari  of Suffern, her two sisters Kathy Alldredge of Texas and  and Mary Terhuneof Boston, her bother George Terhune of Warwick, NY, 3 grandchildren,Scottie,  Matthew and Wayne Evan, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. ARTHUR " ART" DEAN ABBADUSKY, GOSHEN, NEW YORK

Arthur Dean Abbadusky “Art”, 77, passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 2, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born February 14th, Valentine’s Day, 1938 in Monmouth,Illinois. As a young man he proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. ALCOR. After his military service he was employed by Butler Manufacturing Company in Kansas City Missouri where he became East Coast Regional Manager and retired after 25 years of loyal service. He was an avid golfer, bowler and sports fan. He was passionate about helping and serving others. Most importantly he loved and cared for his family and will be greatly missed. Art was preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Elsie Abbadusky, brothers Edward and Melvin Abbadusky. In addition to his beloved wife Marguerite of 36 years, he is survived by brother John “Willie” and his wife Beth Abbadusky, his son Arthur Dean Jr. “Skip” and wife Lisa, daughter Karen Savacool and husband Eric, son Daniel Abbadusky and wife Diane, daughter Kathryn Gallagher and husband Kevin, son Jared Abbadusky and wife Stephanie, stepdaughters Karin Pitzel, Donna Reed and husband William. He has 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. His family will be forever grateful for the tender loving care he received over the past 8 years from the staff at the Valley View Center for Nursing Care in Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Valley View, 59 Quarry Road, Goshen NY 10924 attn: “Homestead floor” A Celebration of Art’s life will be held at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery,111 Craigville Road, Goshen NY 10924 on July 24, 2015 at  2 pm with military honors. AGNES D. ELLISON, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Agnes D. Ellison age 80 of Port Jervis, NY and formerly a long time resident of Montague, New Jersey passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.  She was born on  November 15, 1934 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of  Jefferson Davis Cooper and  Catherine McConnell Cooper.  Agnes retired from Barbara Quilting in Port Jervis as a sewing machine operator.  She was a faithful member of  St. James R.C. Church in Montague.  Agnes married  Frank C. Ellison who pre-deceased her.  She is survived by her daughter Cherelyn Ellison and her  long time companion Bill Mills of Port Jervis.  Agnes is also survived by her two brothers, Paul Cooper  of White Mills, PA., and Thomas Cooper of Lords Valley, PA and several nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her  four sisters,  Marion Longhenry, Ann Stewart, Helen Majesky and Philomena Cooper,  and her brother Gordon Cooper.  Services will be 2:00 pm,Tuesday, July 14, at the Minisink Reformed Church Cemetery in Montague,New Jersey.  Rev. Mercedes Carre, age 91 of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Orange Regional Medical Ctr., Middletown, NY. She was  born on April 11, 1924 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie Drigno Carre. Mercedes is survived by her son, Joseph Santiago and his wife, Theresa of Sparrowbush, NY; her daughter, Laura Matthews of Davey, Florida; her three grandchildren, Dennis, Michael and Brian; her three great grandchildren, Kodey, Hannah and Nicholas; and seveal nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her two grandchildren, Jennifer and Aaron Santiago. Services will ber private. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
