PATRICIA J, ROLLINS, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK

Patricia J. Rollins age 61 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her home.  She was born in New York City, NY on July 2, 1954 the daughter of the late Oliver “ Pop” and JoAnn Cavallo Rollins. Patricia worked as a waitress at the Goshen Diner in Goshen, NY.  She was a member of St. John The Evangelist RC Church in Goshen, NY and attended North Bay Chapel in Southport, Florida.  She is survived by her two daughters Dietra Warren and her husband  Bubba of Bayou George, Florida, Durann Rollins and her significant other Scottie  Parchment of Sparrowbush, NY, her son  Clarence Rollins and his significant other Charlotte of Panama City, Florida; six grandchildren: Joseph Warren, Trenton, Alyssa, Aaliyah, Krista Rollins and Pierce Gilley, her brother Peter A.H.  Rollins and his wife  Laura of Goshen, her nephew Peter Rollins, Jr, her  beloved  dogs BB, Beau,and Cricket.  She was pre-deceased by her grand daughter Jayden Rollins.  Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans PO Box PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH  45250  or to the American Cancer Society 121 Executive Dr., New Windsor, NY  12553  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. DAVID MICHAEL ABER, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK

David Michael Aber Ph.D. of Sparrowbush, NY passed unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT.

Born on May 15, 1957 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Gertrude Aber and her late husband, Robert D. Aber of Sparrowbush, he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Clarkson University, and both a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems and Engineering and Ph.D. from Lehigh University. During his career he was involved with CAD/CAM, Product Lifecycle Management and the 3DExperience with assignments at both IBM and Dassault Systems. Well respected in his field, he served on the Board of Directors of COE (a forum for Product Life Cycle software); he was also an elected member of the COE College of Fellows.

David married his wife of 35 years, Suzanne Lynn Onofry who survives him, along with his much beloved daughter, Lauren Michelle Aber, a 2013 graduate of Trinity College with a B.S. in Chemistry, and a 2015 graduate of Quinnipiac University with a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences. She now attends Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Building much of their life together in Dutchess County, David and his family maintained ties to the area. An avid outdoors man and Eagle Scout, David was a member of the Cahoonzie Club and the Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs of Sullivan County (a tradition continued upon his father’s passing, and for which David handcrafted 75 birdhouse kits for children to build this year); he also routinely donated time to a local food pantry.  Upon retirement David set up an independent consulting practice based out of his Sparrowbush home, allowing him to dedicate time to his family, friends, projects and passions. 

Along with his wife, daughter, and mother, David is survived by his siblings: Bryan C. Aber of Gakona, AK, Gary R. Aber (Pat) of Pleasant Valley, NY and Barbara A. Ryan (Sean) of Wakeforest, NC. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Dorothy M. Onofry, of Port Jervis, his brothers and sisters-in-law and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 30th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY; Rev.  William McGinty  will officiate.

PHYLLIS M. GARMS, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Phyllis M. Garms age 85 of Port Jervis sadly passed away at Bon Secour Community Hospital on Christmas Day, December 25, 2015 surrounded by her family.  She was born on July 17, 1930 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of Morgan and Ella Hartz Mosher.  Her family stated, “ She was a loving and proud mother and grandmother.  She will forever be remembered for always putting others before herself.  She had the most generous and loving heart and touched many lives with her presence.  Her family will always be thankful for the gift that was her life.  Nothing made her happier than being with her family, especially her grandson Shaun who dedicated many hours a day spending time with her and caring for her.  On a day of gift giving God has received the greatest gift of all.  We all love her and will miss her more than words can say.” Phyllis married  Edward R. Garms who pre-deceased her in 1976.  She is survived by her daughters Sandy Garms, Linda Quick, Dawn Sobolewski and her husband Bob, Cathy O’Brien and her husband Tom; her sons Allan Garms and his wife Lynne, Dick Garms and his wife Marika, her grandchildren, Garrett, Jason, Rachael, Mike, Joe, Chris, Christina, Natasha and Shaun, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her grandson Dickie, her two sisters Dorothy and Joan, her brothers, Edward, Walter and Morgan.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. MARGARET V. CORDISCO, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Margaret V. Cordisco age 95 of Port Jervis passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. She was born on  September 26, 1920 in Port Jervis, the daughter of Herbert and Susan Morgan Bonney.  In her early years Margaret worked as a clerk for Woolworth’s Store in Port Jervis and as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co.   She  then worked  as a  teacher’s aide for the Port Jervis School District until her retirement. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s RC Church, Port Jervis. the Catholic Daughters Court Madonna, #114, the Port Jervis Senior Citizens and National AARP.  Margaret married Mario V. Cordisco who pre-deceased her in 1976.  She is survived by her two daughters JoAnn Grey and her husband James of Lake George, NY, Diane Creamer and her husband Jerry of Lovettsville, Virginia, her son Michael Cordisco and his wife Claudia of Sparrowbush, her grandchildren David, Val, Margo, Jim, J.R., Andrew, Alex and Jillian, her great grandchildren Devin, Keegan, Rowan, Reese, several nieces, nephews her beloved pet dog, “Lucky”.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, from 4:30-8:30 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis.  Catholic daughters will conduct services at 6  PM at the funeral home.  Prayers will be offered 9:15 AM Wednesday morning December 23 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, Port Jervis concelebrated by Rev. KIMBERLY R. KNESEL, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

Kimberly R. Knesel, age 34 of Huguenot, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Port Jervis. She was born on January 8, 1981 in Glen Gardner, NJ, the daughter of the late Joseph O'Byrne and Roseann Parks O'Byrne who survives.  Kimberly worked as a legal secretary for Gregory Chelak, Attorney At Law, Milford, PA. She married  Kristian Knesel who survives at home. Kimberly is also survived by her mother, Roseann O'Byrne of Glen Gardner; her three children: Karrington Rose Knesel, Kameron William Knesel and Khloe Helene Knesel, all at home; two step-sons: Knolan Knesel of Detroit, MI and Noah Knesel of Cortland, NY; her brother, Brendan O'Byrne; her sister, Courtney O'Byrne, both of Rhode Island; her maternal grandparents, George and Rose Parks of Glen Gardner; her mother-in-law, Rosemary Hulse of Huguenot; her grandmother-in-law, Helene Roeder of Huguenot; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be held at a later time. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. JAMES L. GAINOR, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

James L. Gainor age 56 of Port Jervis, NY died  Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1959 in the Bronx, NY the son of Lawrence E. Gainor and the late Catherine H. Gorman Gainor.  James worked as a Supervisor for the Department of Homeless Services in New York City, NY.  He is survived by his father Lawrence E. Gainor of Milford, PA, his two sons, Timothy J. Gainor and Tyler Gainor both of Long Island, his sister Deborah Pawelski and her husband Martin of Milford, his brother Daniel Gainor and his wife Victoria of Aston, PA,  Nephews: Marty Pawelski and his wife, Katherine and Matthew Pawelski  and  Joseph Pawelski
Nieces: Kristin Lamarra and her husband Andrew and Lauren Gainor. He was pre-deceased by his mother Catherine Gorman Gainor and his sister Eileen Gainor. Jim was an avid fisherman and loved being captain of his life and his boat. He always had a pot of soup on and enjoyed good times in his garage with his family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 19 at St. Patrick's R.C.,Church, 111 E. High St., Milford PA.  Rev. Gregory Kelly will be the celebrant. MARY C. CABLE, TOWN OF GREENVILLE, NEW YORK

Mary C. Cable age 59 of the Town of Greenville, NY passsed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY.  She was born on  March 25, 1956 in Nyack, Ny the daught of the late Charles Schott and Ann Kroenung Schott who survives.  Mary dedicated 34 years as a special education teacher for the Board of Education in New York City, NY.  She married  Leslie "Boots" Cable who survives at home.  She is also survived by her mother Ann Schott of W. Haverstraw, NY, her three daughters Krystal Cable, Amanda DiToto, Carol Lydia Lindo all at home, her three sons Charles J. Cable at home, Michael J. Cable and Brian Cable both of South Carolina, her sister Gail Schott of W. Haverstraw, her two brothers Matthew Schott of Port Jervis, and Charles Schott of W. Haverstraw, five grandchildren Thomas, Julie, Vincent, Kayla, Aaron, seveal nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 16, 11AM-12 noon at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. THERESA "TERRY" EDWARDS, TOWN OF GREENVILLE, NEW YORK

 
Theresa "Terry" Edwards age 82 of the Town of Greenville passed away Thursday, December 10 at the home of her niece Barbara Sauschuck surrounded by her family.  Terry was born on October 29, 1933 in Goshen, NY, the daughter of  Joseph J. and  Bertha Dudek Banach.  In her earlier years Terry worked at Woolworth's, Port Jervis in the stationery department. She then worked as a waitress  at Holiday Lakes in Montague, NJ. She was a loving and caring health care giver to many local residents.  Terry was a faithful member of Holy Cross R.C. Church in South Centerville, and a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary, V.F. W. Post #3175, Greenville  Terry traveled extensively with her late husband Andrew "Jim" Edwards.  She is survived by her  three sisters,  Mary Jo Chandler of Sparrowbush, Caroline Banach and Alice Lapriore both of Port Jervis, her brother  Joseph Banach and his wife Diane of Matamoras, PA, her sister-in-law Helen Banach of Greenville and her beloved nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her  two sisters Elizabeth Geib, Cecilia Rhoades and her brother Vincent Banach. Visitation will be held Monday, December 14 from 4-7 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Jeanne Geiger age 65 of Matamoras, PA passed away Tuesday, December 8, at her home.  She was born on  October 15, 1950 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Vincent and Catherine Young Shields.  Jeanne worked as medical assistant for Dr. Javdan in Middletown, NY  and for Willcare as a home health care practitioner for many years. She was a faithful member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis. She was a Jr. Warden, Vestry member and Alter Guild member of Grace Church.  Jeanne is survived by her daughter Jennifer Jones of Poughkeepsie, her two sons, Steven  Jones, (US Navy) and his wife Lisa of Guam,   Matthew Jones and his wife Lacy of Matamoras, PA; her three sisters Denise Aber-Ramsey of Scottsdale, AZ, Fern Lutfy of Milford, PA, and Susan Davis of New Hampton, NY; her beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Noah, Rozlin, Brody, Aila, several nieces, nephews and her long time companion Richard Andree.  A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11 AM Monday, December 21, at the Grace Episcopal Church, 84 Seward Ave., Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. EDNA M. CONKLIN, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

Edna M. Conklin age 94 of Huguenot, NY passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was born on December 13, 1920 in Maybrook, NY the daughter of William and Jennie Babcock  Hicks.  Edna retired  after many years of  dedication, as an assembler from Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis. She was a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, in Port Jervis.  She was pre-deceased by her husband Kenneth Conklin, Sr. She is survived by her  daughter Patricia  Goddard of Monroe,  her two sons Kenneth Conklin, Jr. and his wife Judy of Huguenot, NY, David Conklin and his wife Theresa of Port Jervis, her sister Gloria Cuddeback and her husband Lee of the State of Florida, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Edna was pre-deceased by five daughters Sandy Conklin, Phyllis Osborne, Carol Nadeau Owings, Judy Groover and Barbara Diaz, her brother William Hicks, her two sisters Betty Brody, Jean Goble and her grand daughter Stephanie Conklin.  Graveside services, to be announced at a later time, will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Dr., New Windsor, NY  12553.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. JAMES A. KOFERL, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

James A. Koferl age 78 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis.  He was born on December 8, 1936 in Narrowsburg, NY the son of Leonard and Pearl Skinner Koferl.  Jim was a self employed contractor. He was a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop #77, Matamoras a former coach for Port Jervis Little League,  a member of the Port Jervis Lions Club, and a member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Masons #328, F&AM.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  Above all spending time with his grandchildren gave him the most joy.  Jim married Linda  Rowe Koferl who survives at home.  He is also survived by his two sons William Koferl and his wife Beth of Matamoras, Michael Koferl and his wife Heather of Dingmans, PA, two grandchildren Travis and Ashleigh, his sister Augusta DeGraw of Sullivan County, his mother-in-law  Lou Ella Rowe of Sparrowbush, his sister-in-law Debra Rowe and her companion Kenneth Kent of Sparrowbush, his brother-in-law James Rowe and his wife Bernadette of Brooklyn, his long time close friends Don Reed, and his wife Jean of Glen Spey who Jim considered Don as a brother, several nieces,nephews and his beloved pet dog Belle.  He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Raymond,John, Leonard and Norman Koferl, his sisters, Alice Tyler, Eleanor Edwards, Rose Gallagher, Alice Collns and Mary Koferl. ROBERT E. DAY, WILMINGTON , NORTH CAROLINA , FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Robert E. Day of Wilmington, North Carolina and formerly a life-long resident of Port Jervis, NY passed away on Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2015 at New Hanover Hospital, Wilmington, North Carolina.  Robert was born on  August 25, 1926 in Port Jervis, NY the son of George Day and Harriet Hopkins Day. Bob proudly served our country during WW II with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Jervis, a life member  of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645 B.P.O.E.,  a member of the Howard Wheat Engine Co., Port Jervis Fire Dept., a life member and Past Captain of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis.  Bob was pre-deceased by his wife of 66 years ,Dorothy Kirschner Day and his brother Frank E. Day both of Port Jervis, NY. He is survived by his two sons Robert N. Day and his wife Patricia of Bend, Oregon, Thomas J. Day and his significant other Florissa of Perry, Georgia,  his daughter Nancy Day-White and her husband David of Wilmington, North Carolina,   two sisters  Muriel Fornabai of W. Haven, Conn  and Julene Winters of Port Jervis, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be private at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush on April 8th, 2016. Gary D. Maltby age 66 of Matamoras, PA passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his home.  He was born on June 1, 1949 in Port Jervis, the son of Donald T. and Hazel Hamilton Maltby.  Gary retired as a school bus driver for the Delaware Valley School District.  He was a life member of the Westfall Fire Dept, Westfall Township, Pa.  He is survived by his brother Roger K. Maltby and his wife Judy of Matamoras,  his nieces, Sherelyn, Kaylee, Bethany, Adalie, Heather, Ella, Ariana and his nephew, Dylon.  Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3, from 3-7 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Friday, December 4th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. Neal Wintermute will officiate.  Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society, Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771 or to th Pike County Humane Society, PO Box 255, Milford, PA 18337.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. ROBERT L. "BOBBY" SORENSEN, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK


Robert L. "Bobby" Sorensen age 21 of Huguenot, NY  died  Monday, November 16, 2015 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.  He was born on  March 21, 1994 in Port Jervis, NY the son of  Edward and Elizabeth Bridau Sorensen.  Bobby was employed by the Times-Herald Record in Middletown, NY.  He is survived by his parents  Edward and Elizabeth Sorensen of Huguenot; his two brothers Nicholas and Christopher Sorensen both of Huguenot.  He attended Trinity Catholic Elementary and Port Jervis Schools.   He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis.  A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 12th at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant.  Memorial contributions may be made to the  Trauma Ctr. at Westchester Medical Ctr., 100 Woods Rd., Valhalla, NY 10595.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
