In 1996, Alma moved to AnacortesWA for health reasons.  She lived there several years where her niece Joan Cox assisted her with maintaining her own apartment.  She was blessed with the faculties to still maintain all the functions and an apartment into her nineties.  She still maintained close contact with her son, Richard, on the east coast along with several of his classmates. Some actually visited her in Washington.

Alma and John were very active in their son’s participation in athletics.  They did not miss a football or lacrosse game while he was at Rutgers, and made many visits to Penn State to see lacrosse.  They made many friends with these visits.  Even Joe Paterno wrote her and sent photographs to wish her well.

She loved to travel.  Alma and John traveled to Europe several times, and she along with her son would go to Canada or Oregon when he would visit.

Alma was very close to her extended family.  She kept in close contact with them.  She always tried to help others, and always remembered to send cards or telephone friends when there was a special occasion.  Her kindness and thoughtfulness will be sorely missed. Memorial services  will be announced  at a later date and will be held at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home,  154 E.
