      Genevieve Remillard, Glen Spey, New York
		
          Genevieve Remillard of Glen Spey, died peacefully at her home, Monday, July 17, 2006. She was 100 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Hanley Reed, and was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on April 15, 1906. She was married to Charles Remillard who preceded her in death.
Genevieve was the retired owner and operator of Remillard's Cabins, Glen Spey. She was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Pond Eddy, and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church, she was a member of the Highland Seniors and Lumberland Seniors. She was also in the Ladies Auxiliary, Lumberland Fire Dept. She was a resident of the area for 60 years.
A family statement reads "She was an extremely loving and devoted grandmother. She loved living in the country, taking care of her flowers and trees. These were her passions."
Survivors include two granddaughters, Lynn Hull and her fiance, Larry Thompson of Port Jervis, and Jamie Remillard Eaddy and her husband, Dennis of Glen Spey; two great- grandsons, C.J. Hull of Virginia and Willie Rodriguez of Glen Spey; one great-great- grandson, Max Akridge of Washington D.C.; her former daughter-in-law, Joan Remillard of Peekskill, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by several sisters and brothers.
Friends may call Thursday, July 20, 2006 prior to services.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis. Following will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Pond Eddy.
Officiating will be the Rev. Anthony Moore.
Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Eldred, N.Y.

      Margaret A. Stewart, Port Jervis, New York
		
          Margaret A. Stewart, a lifelong resident of the area, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, N.Y. She was 56.
The daughter of Marilyn Fargo Heald and the late Charles Stark, she was born August 27, 1949 in Austin, Texas.
Margaret was an assembler at Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis, N.Y. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary #161 and former member of V.F.W. Post #161 in Port Jervis.
In addition to her mother of South Carolina, she is survived by her husband, John R. Stewart, at home; three sons: Gregory Stewart and his wife, Stacey, of Port Jervis, Shawn Stewart and his wife, Jessica, of Shohola, Pa., and David Stewart of Ocean Gate, N.J.; two daughters, Monica Lancaster and her husband, Corliss, of Ocean Grove, N.J., and Melody DeGraw and her husband, Nathan, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; two brothers, Charles and James Stark of South Carolina; and seven grandchildren: Gregory, Stephanie, Angelica, Corliss, Angel, Courtney, and Joshua.
Memorial services will be held at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 1 p.m.
Interment will be private.

      Elisabeth (Van Ophemert) Ostermann of Ormond Beach, Fla. formerly of Glen Spey, N.Y.
		
          Elisabeth (Van Ophemert) Ostermann of Ormond Beach, Fla. formerly of Glen Spey, N.Y., died March 14, 2006 at Mayfield Heights, Ohio. She was 99 years old.
Elisabeth was married to the late Klaus Ostermann, she was born in Koblenz, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany on February 6, 1907. She was a longtime resident of the area.
Elisabeth was a lifelong member of The Schwartwald (Black Forest) German American Club in Glen Spey.
Survivors include one son, Carl H. Ostermann and his wife, Margaret of Philadelphia, Pa.; one daughter, Betty Szirony and her husband, James of Cleveland, Ohio. Elisabeth was a devoted grandmother to Evan A. Szirony and Michael K. Ostermann. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Margot Peterson of Glen Spey.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. in The Black Forest Cemetery, Glen Spey.
The family will have a reception following the service at the Black Bear Inn to honor and celebrate Mom's life.
Burial will be in Black Forest Cemetery, Glen Spey.

      Joseph Haggerty, Port Jervis, New York
		
          Joseph Haggerty of Port Jervis, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was 76 years old.
The son of the late John and Ethel Schweinfest Haggerty, he was born in Port Jervis on March 2, 1930. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was married to Joan Horst Haggerty.
Joseph was a retired metal worker for Wilder Mfg., Port Jervis. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis; a member of Maghogomock Hook and Ladder Co. #1, Port Jervis, Fire Dept., Past Captain of the Port Jervis Fire Police.
Survivors include his wife, at home, Joan Horst Haggerty. He was predeceased by his twin brother, William Haggerty; and brother, Richard Haggerty and his sister, Marie.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.

      August "Chris" DeCristoforo Jr.,  Port Jervis, New York
		
          August "Chris" DeCristoforo Jr., a foreman of New Jersey Transit, Port Jervis and longtime area resident, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at his home. He was 59.
The son of August DeCristoforo Sr. and the late Edith Meschino DeCristoforo, he was born August 30, 1947 in the Bronx.
He was a US Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War.
A family statement reads, "Chris was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him."
Survivors include his wife at home, Eleanor Sickles DeCristoforo; his father, August DeCristoforo Sr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Michael DeCristoforo of Bethesda, Md.; four daughters, Dianna Guacci and husband Anthony of Selden, N.Y., Amber Bedell and husband John of Chestertown, Md., Maryellen Mattot of Las Vegas, Nev. and Joann Carbone of West Palm, Fla.; one sister, Edith DeCristoforo of Lakeville, Pa.; one stepson Harry E. Williams and his fiancée Kelly of Port Jervis; three stepdaughters, Ginni Gushue and her fiance, John of Sparrowbush, Kathleen Williams her fiancé Gabriel of Port Jervis, Elizabeth Williams and her fiancé Pat of New Tripoli, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; four nieces.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main Street., Port Jervis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Andville, Pa.

      Marge B. Wehinger, Port Jervis, New York
		
          Marge B. Wehinger of Port Jervis, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 in St. Joseph's Place in Port Jervis. She was 91 years old.
The daughter of the late Abraham and Amy Dauch Barber, Marge was born in Black Lake, N.Y. on March 15, 1915. She has been a lifelong resident of the area.
Marge was a retired seamstress for Hinden Coat Factory, Port Jervis, and a retired waitress for the Rendezvous Restaurant, Montague, N.J. She attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Port Jervis, and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. (International Ladies Garment Workers Union).
Survivors include one son, John A. Wehinger and his wife, Jean of Port Jervis, two grandchildren, Dina Allen and Jeff Wehinger.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Denise Wehinger.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Officiating will be the Rev. Betsy Diver.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush.
