
Mary T. Wohlscheid age 91 of Port Jervis, NY passed away peacefully December 28, 2019 at Belle Reve, Milford, PA. She was born on May 29, 1928 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of Frank P. and Evelyn Buckley Wohlscheid. Mary graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary School and St. John’s High School in Goshen, NY. She continued her education at New Paltz State Teacher’s College, earning her Bachelors in Education in 1949. Mary went to work for the Port Jervis School District as a third grade teacher retiring after many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member and lector of St. Mary’s RC Church. For many years Mary was a soloist for the church and sang for most Funeral Masses. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Madonna, #114, Port Jervis. Mary traveled extensively with her best friend Rayola McLaughlin, throughout the years to numerous conventions and meetings of the Catholic Daughters. She is survived by her three nephews; Frederick Stinard and his wife Cindy of Virginia Beach, VA, Mark Stinard and his wife Gwen of Virginia Beach, Greg Stinard and his wife Kim of Texarcanna, Texas, several grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend Rayola McLaughlin of Port Jervis and her care givers and close friends, Cathy Jo Ewanciw and her husband John of the Town of Greenville. Mary was pre-deceased by her brothers, John “Jack” Wohlscheid and James Wohlscheid and her sister Jean Stinard. Visitation will be held 2-5 PM Thursday, January 2, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Catholic Daughters and vigil wake prayers will be held at 4PM , Thursday at the funeral home. Prayers will be offered 9:15 AM, Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 AM at St. Marys R.C.Church, Port Jervis, NY. Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis. Jay V. Orben age 58 of Milford, PA passed away Sat. December 7, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He was born on April 3, 1961 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Victor Orben and Jane Stephens Orben who survives. Jay worked as a surveyor in the family business, Orben Land Surveyors, Milford, PA. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Port Jervis. Jay married Robynne Valentine Orben who pre-deceased him. He is survived by his mother, Jane Stephens Orben of Milford, his two brothers, Mark Orben and his wife Amy, Kerry Orben and his wife Laura and Richard Orben all of Milford, PA. He is also survived by his very special niece Kaylan Alexander. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Peter W. Harvey age 71 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away December 7, 2019 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was born on September 3, 1948 in Rockville Center, Long Island, the son of Bernard and Cornelia Germaine Harvey. Peter proudly served our country during the Vietnam War with the US Army. He was a truck driver for Wilson Fuel Co. in Montague, New Jersey, Agway, Sparrowbush Oil Co. and Deerpark Oil Co. in Sparrowbush, NY. He was a member of the Marsch-Kellogg American Legion Post #139, Milford, PA, a former member of the Seacliff Fire Dept. and Maghogmock Hook & Ladder Co. #1, Port Jervis, Fire Dept. Peter is survived by his two daughters; Cornelia Harvey of Sparrowbush, and Mary Capobianco of Port Jervis, his two sons; Scott Small and his wife Zaira of Milford, PA, and James Capobianco and his wife Leanne of the State of Florida, his beloved grandchildren; Chelsea Harvey, Amanda Capobianco, Victor Beadle, Kaylee and Bethany Maltby, Andrew and Zachary Lauria and Antonio Capobianco, his great grandchildren Curtis and Hailiegh. Peter is also survived by his former wife Ruth A. Cheshire, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Bernard Harvey JR, father Bernard Harvey SR and mother Cornelia Germaine Harvey. Memorial services will be held on Monday December 16th at 6 PM at the VFW Post 161 in Port Jervis, NY. Interment will take place in the Spring at Indiantown Gap Veterans Cemetery.
