HENRIETTA CRAWN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Henrietta Crawn age 86 of Port Jervis, NY passed away April 28, 2018 at Milford Senior Care., Milford, PA. She was born on June 10, 1931 in Godeffroy, NY the daughter of Fred C. and Carrie Conklin. Henrietta worked as an assembler at Kolmar Labs Inc. and later at Jamesway Dept. Store in Montague, NJ until her retirement. She was a member of the Drew United Methodist Church in Port Jervis. Henrietta married Allen L. Crawn on July 9, 1950 and he pre-deceased her on May 5, 2017. She is survived by her two daughters Linda Babcock and her husband George of Godeffroy, Frances Dubois and her husband Dave of Port Jervis, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great great grandson, her sister Cordelia DeStefano of Port Jervis, her brother William Conklin and his wife Pat of Port Jervis and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Margie, Elsie, Lois, and her brothers Fred and Jessie. She was a loving and caring Mom and Grandma. Henrietta was loved by all who knew her. Visitation will be held 3-6 PM Tuesday, May 1, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday May 2, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Sommers officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY. HELEN Z. KOWINSKY, MONTAGUE, NEW JERSEY

Helen Z. Kowinsky age 94 of Montague, New Jersey passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Suffern, NY. She was born on September 5, 1923 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of Alex and Bertha Bezel Zenes. Helen retired as an assembler from Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis. She was a member of St. James The Greater R.C. Church in Montague. She married Theodore Kowinsky who pre-deceased her. Helen is survived by her two sons, Richard Kowinsky and his wife Rose of Spring Lake, North Carolina and Robert Kowinsky of Montague, New Jersey, her daughter Barbara Kowinsky of Riverside, California, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Stella Mead and Jennie Love, and her brothers Zigmond, William and Edward Zenes. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, April 26th at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY. Rev. Wayne Varga will officiate. KENNETH H. SIMPSON, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Kenneth H. Simpson age 56 of Port Jervis, NY passed away April 18, 2018 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was born on June 5, 1961 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Willis H. Simpson, Jr. and Patricia Mons Simpson who survives.
Kenneth graduated from Port Jervis High School and continued his education at Iowa State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Animal Husbandry. He was a member of St. Mary’s R. C. Church in Port Jervis.
Kenneth is survived by his mother, Patricia Simpson of Port Jervis; his brother, Michael Simpson and his wife, Valerie of Port Jervis; his uncle, Dr. Francis Simpson of Port Jervis; his niece, Jennifer Simpson; his nephew, Devon Simpson, and several cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother, James H. Simpson and his aunt, Lois Simpson.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County 4-H Dairy Program, Orange County Co-operative Extensive Education Ctr., Community Campus, Dillon Drive, Middletown, NY 10940.

LILLIAN A. WACHTER, CRYSTAL RIVER, FLORIDA

Lillian A. Wachter, known affectionally as "Great" to her grandchildren, died on April 6, 2018, at her daughters home in Crystal River, Fl, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Lillian was born in Brooklyn, NY. She met and married her husband, Clifford, and they raised two daughters, enjoying summers in Barryville. After retirement from Chase Manhatten Bank, she moved to Barryville to be close to family. Lillian was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, geat grandmother and aunt. Se was a strong, spirited, beautiful and independent woman, who was forever 29. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband, Clifford and her beloved daughter, Joanne Clouse and her four brothers, Henry, Frank, John and Joseph Meyer and her two sisters, Catherine Warden and Madeline Walter.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Carole Rudolph and her husband Joseph, her son-in-law Herman Clouse, five grandchildren, Laura and John Stuba, Regina and James Lynett, Lenora Lee Rudolph and James Ryan, Erik and Beth Clouse, and Jason and Rachel Clouse. She was great grandmother to nine wonderful children, Michael and Tyler Stuba, Carolyn and Katherine Lynett, Drew, Kaylee and Khloe Clouse and Donovan and Laurel Clouse. She is also survived by her favorite niece, Janet Warden, and many other caring nieces and nephews and friends both in New York and Florida.
There will be no visitation per her wishes, A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Yulan, NY. on June 2, 2018. Rev. Jocelyn Berkmans will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Eldred, NY. MATTHEW WAYNE DAVIS, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

Matthew Wayne Davis age 33 of Huguenot, New York passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home. He was born on December 28, 1984 in Goshen, New York the son of William J. Davis, Sr. and the late Joyce Suffern Davis. Matthew worked as a mason at Earth and Stone Masonary, New Hampton, New York. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the great outdoors. Matthew is survived by his father William J. Davis, Sr and his stepmother Tina M. Davis of Huguenot, his three brothers Eric M. Davis of Vero Beach, Florida, Christopher G. Davis and his wife Meghann of Shohola, Pennsylvania, William Davis , Jr, and his wife Megan of New Hampton, his step-brother Jack McCloud of Rock Hill, New York, his step-sister Kelly Anne McCloud of Oswego, New York, his nieces and nephews, William, Olivia, Aiden, Jack and Emily Davis. He was pre-deceased by his beloved pet dog “Duke”. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, New York. Rev. WILLIAM (BILL) H. PFUNDHELLER, SR., MOUNT JOY, PENNSYLVANIA

William (Bill) H. Pfundheller, Sr., 76, of Mount Joy, Pa, passed away Saturday, March 24th at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Born on April 19th, 1941 in New York, NY, Bill later resided in Port Jervis, N.Y. where he graduated from high school and joined the army in 1959. He was stationed in Texas and in LaRochelle, France. After returning to Port Jervis from his military post with Honorable Discharge, he married Janice Van Aken, who after 36 years of marriage, preceded him in death in 2000. Bill met Frances Natale (Bracciodieta) in Lancaster County, Pa, and the two were married in 2002. They resided in Jensen Beach, Florida until 2014 when they moved back to Pennsylvania and settled in Mount Joy to be closer to family.
He worked 37 years for Agway Inc, then several years for Ephrata Agway enjoyed taking long drives and meeting new people. He was quite fond of playing cards, rooting for the Cowboys, fishing, and checking out the latest and best dining establishments. He is survived by his wife, Frances, his brother Richard Pfundheller of Florida, his son William Pfundheller Jr of Elizabethtown, Pa and his daughter, Michele Pfundheller Hunter of Yardley, Pa, as well as several step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 12 noon-1 PM Friday, April 20th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Memorial services will follow 1 PM at the funeral home with Rev. WALTER R. AMUNDSEN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

Walter R. Amundsen age 93 of Port Jervis, NY passed away on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was born on January 31, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Rolf and Elida Rorvik Amundsen. Walter married Justine Freudenberger Amundsen who survives at home. He proudly served our country during World War II with the Fourth Marine Division with the U.S. Marines and received 2 Silver Stars, 1 Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. Walter worked as an Iron Worker at Stone Derrickmen & Riggers, IW Local 197. He was a member of First Church-Religious Science, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Walter is survived by his wife Justine Amundsen at home; one son Daniel Walter Amundsen of New York, NY, his very close friends John and Mary Gelormino, and Paul Weinrich; three nieces and nephews, his two special Yorkies: Benson and Bridgett. GEORGE HOFFMAN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK

George Hoffman age 58 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 27, 1959 in Patchogue, Long Island the son Arthur and Martha Boehl Hoffman. George recently retired as a correctional officer from the New York Sate Dept. of Corrections, Otisville, NY. He was an avid fisherman and hunter enjoying the great outdoors. George married Jan Scovern Hoffman who survives at home. He is also survived by his son George Hoffman, II and his longtime companion Juliana Henneforth of Waymart, Pennsylvania, his daughter Erika Stauffer of York, Pennsylvania, his step-son Ryan O’Toole of Queens, NY and his sister JoAnne Hiaght of Long Island. JOYCE ZITONE, MONTAGUE, NEW JERSEY, FORMERLY OF MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA

Joyce Zitone age 80 of Montague, New Jersey and formerly of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away April 3, 2018 in Newton, New Jersey surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 7, 1938 in Matamoras, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred Furman Masurack. Joyce retired as an office manager at Phil’s Ford in Port Jervis, NY after many years of dedicated service. She attended the United Methodist Church of Matamoras and was a member of the Montague Seniors. Joyce was an avid golfer and a member of the Port Jervis Country Club. She was club champion for five years of the Women’s Golf Club. Joyce married David H. Schular who pre-deceased her. She then married Edward Zitone who survives at home. Joyce is also survived by her daughter Karen Brunnabend and her husband Michael of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, her son Darryl Schular and his partner Dennis Camt of Matamoras, her daughter Alicia Schular Kingston and her husband Michael of Matamoras, her granddaughter Michaela Brunnabend, her brother-in-law John Kolvenbach of Matamoras, Pennsylvania several nieces and nephews. Joyce was pre-deceased by her brother Elmer Masurack, and her sister Dolores Kolvenbach. Visitation will be held 3-6 PM Thursday, April 5th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
