      EDWARD P. BABCOCK, SR., PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Edward P. Babcock,Sr. age 85 of Port Jervis, NY passed away August 29, 2017 at home surrounded  by his family.  He was born August 22, 1932 in Hardyston, New Jersey the son of Howard Drake and Jennie V. Babcock.  Edward proudly served our country during the Korean War with the US Army.  He retired as an assembler  from Ford Motor Co. at Mahwah, New Jersey after  many years of service.  He married  Betty Ann  Davenport Babcock who pre-deceased him in 2015.  He is survived by his son, Edward P. Babcock, Jr and his wife Susan  of Port Jervis, four daughters Veronica Smith and her husband Paul of Port Jervis, Cassandra Jenks an of Port Jervis, Rita Cosh  and Amanda  Babcock both at home, 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Edward was pre-deceased by his great grandson  Shane Decker.  Visitation will be held  11 AM-12 noon Tuesday September 5 th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.       JOSEPH M. PICCOLO, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          Joseph  M. Piccolo age 64 of Matamoras, PA passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at his home.  He was born on September 19, 1952 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Joseph and Carmella Marioni Piccolo.   He graduated from Delaware Valley High School and continued his education at Bloomsburg  University.  He graduated from Temple University at Philadelphia  achieving his master’s degree. Joe retired as a sales executive for medical software at McDonald-Douglas Inc., Columbia Maryland. He is survived by his daughter Julia May Giles of Plano, Texas, his sister Ann Marie Seeber and her husband Brian of San Antonio, Florida, his brother Mario Piccolo and his wife Kathy of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, his  special aunt Mary Billman of Port Jervis, several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis with Rev. Alfred Vito officiating.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154  E.       ERNEST E. MORGAN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Ernest E. Morgan age 85 of Port Jervis, NY passed away August 26, 2017 at his home.  He was born  on December 4, 1931 in Port Jervis, NY the son of  Ernest and Viola Mailett Morgan.  Ernest retired as an assembler at Skydyne, Inc., Port Jervis.  He proudly served our country with the US Army during the Korean War from 1956-1960.  He was a member of the Drew United Methodist Church in Port Jervis.  He married Susan Graziano who pre-deceased him.  He is survived by his daughters Viki Henry and her husband Raymond of Charlotte, NC, Diann “Dee” Hocker and her husband Keith of Blufton, SC, his mother-in-law Elizabeth Graziano of Port Jervis, his sister Shirley Ostrom  and her husband Raymond of Port Jervis, his brothers Robert  Morgan of Godeffroy,  and Richard Morgan of Port Jervis, his sister Lovyon Eckart and her husband James of Port Jervis, his three grandchildren Lori, Kim and Brian, several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his sisters Dixie Balmos, Betty Wood, his brothers, Harold Tampier, and Paul Manwaring.  Services will be private at the convenience of the family.       RONALD F. VANAKEN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          
Ronald F. VanAken age 70 of Port Jervis, NY passed away August 26, 2017 at Middletown, NY.  He was born on April 12, 1947 in Port Jervis, NY the son of  Floyd G. and Daisy Barber VanAken.  Ronald retired as a rural letter carrier after 30 + years for the US Postal Service, Branchville, New Jersey.  He married Natalie Getz VanAken who pre-deceased him in 1996.  He is survived by his daughter Kathy  Rodriguez and her husband Ismael of Martinez, Georgia. He is also survived by his  grandsons Joshua and Joseph  of Martinez, Georgia, his brother-in-law Carl Getz and his wife Nancy of Holland Patent, NY, several cousins, nieces and nephews.  Ronald was past president of the Deerpark Lions Club, a member of Monticello Lodge of Elks #1544 B.P.O.E., a 25 + year member of Mahogamack Hook & Ladder Co #1, Port Jervis Fire Dept., Orange Ulster BOCES Section 9, High School Referee, and an assistant coach for the Bears, Pop Warner Football League.  He  was an avid New York Giants and Yankees Fan and enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle.   Memorial services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 30 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main, Port Jervis, NY.  Carl Getz will officiate. Theresa Gerstmann Crowell age 61 of Port Jervis, NY passed away August 26, 2017 at her home after a short illness.  She was born on  June 28, 1956 in Sussex, New Jersey the daughter of the late Ronald J. Gerstmann and  Leona R. Wesolowski Gerstmann who survives.  She is a 1974 graduate of High Point Regional High School. Terri continued her education  at Glassboro College, Glassboro, NJ where she earned a degree in Early Child Development. She was also a graduate of C.H.U.B. Institute.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Terri is survived by her loving companion, Danny Ashe at home, her daughter Stephanie Alster and her husband Gregory of Port Jervis, her son Mark Alster and his fiancé Kyra of Port Jervis, Her mother Leona Gerstmann of Sussex, her two brothers Walt Gerstmann and his wife Sue of Greeley, PA, Ronald Gertsmann of Sussex, NJ, one grandson Greg, Jr , her uncles Walter Wesolowski of Virginia Beach, Va, Leon Wesolowski  of Olean, NY, and a special friend Michael Pugliese.. Dolores Ann Lowick age 72 of Port Jervis, NY and formerly of Newton, NJ passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 9, 1945 in Endicott, NY and is the daughter of the late Roberta Madison Page. Dolores married Lawerence Lowick who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Licata of Newton, NJ, her son, Steven Lowick of Casper, Wyoming, five grandchildren: Christine Cohen and her husband Matthew, Kaitlin, Melissa, Jenna, and Ryan; three great-grandchildren: Talon, Olivia, and Blake.       WILLIAM P. DeBREE, MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

William P. DeBree, age 25 of Milford, PA, passed away peacefully  August 24, 2017.
He was born June 26, 1992 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Gustave and Laureen DeBree.  William operated Warner Sealcoating in Milford PA.
He is survived by his wife Emily Jacobs and their seven month old son, Finley; his parents, Gustave and Laureen DeBree of Matamoras PA; his brother, Gustave DeBree, IV and his wife, Christine of Hawley, PA; his two sisters, Heather DeBree of Milford, PA, and Alizabeth Muller of South Carolina, and several cousins. 
He was predeceased by his grand parents, Harry and Gloria Foss, Gustave Sr. and Ardell DeBree. 
William had an infectious laugh and quick witted sense of humor and was a joy to all. He loved music and festivals, in Bethel especially. He was an animal lover and he adored his cat, Dude and their dog, Sushi.  He was a loving father and above all his son Finley gave him the greatest joy. He was loved by all who knew him.
Visitation will be 12 noon to 2 p.m. held Friday, Sepembert 1, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA.

      MARIANNE V. RIPEL, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK
		
          

Marianne V. Ripel, age 71 of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on February 28, 1946 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of Odd and Veronica Bogen. Marianne worked many years as a bookkeeper for Horn’s Coal & Lumber Co. in Port Jervis and also for Edward Schafer Accounting in Maramoras until her retirement.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Marianne married Ansel  J. Ripel who survives at home. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Bogen and his wife, Regina of Holbrook, NY; her sister, Carol DiGiantommaso and her husband, Jeffrey of Winston-Salem, NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 27 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Prayers will be offered at 9:15 a.m., Monday morning, August 28 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Rev. Joseph Biliyock will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.

      THOMAS NICHOLAS GALLONDORN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Thomas Nicholas Gallondorn, a life-long resident of Port Jervis, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 17, 2017.  Tom was employed by the US Postal Service for over 30 years.
Tom is survived by his wife, Diane and their children, Terri Perriello and her husband(Romolo), Lori Cusick and her husband (Reggie), Dawn Lory and her husband  (Darin),  Mark Gallondorn and his wife(Amanda), Pamela Dunleavy and her husband(Michael) and Kenneth Costic and his wife (Diane), his sister Sally Hall  and her husband (Frank “Junie”).  Tom found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren Dawn (Jason), Maria (Thomas), Gina, Karlianne, Lilyana, Emerson, Samantha and M.J.,  and great-grandchildren Dianna, Caitlyn, Jacqueline and “Big Ben” Bennett,  his son-in-law Matthew Messenger as well as special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Tom was predeceased by his parents Nicholas Gallondorn and Anna  Pedlock Gallondorn, wives Penny (Stoll) and Sharon (Brown), and daughter Debbie Messenger.
Tom had a larger-than-life personality and was actively involved in his community.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Mongaup Rod and Gun Club and Deer Call Hunting Club.  He was a longtime member of several organizations: Port Jervis Lodge of Elks #645 B.P.O.E., where he was a past Exalted Ruler and Elk of the Year; Port Jervis Fire Department Hose #5 where he served in several capacities including Captain and was Grand Marshall for the Port Jervis Fireman’s Parade in 2014; the Tri-State Naval Ship Post # 7241 where he served as paymaster for many years.  Tom was a patriot and was especially proud of his service in the United States Navy from 1957-1959.  Visitation will be held  3-7 PM Tuesday, August 22 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Elks services will be held Tues. evening at 6 PM. Firematic services will be held  at 6:30 PM, Tues. evening.  Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, Aug. 23 at the funeral home.  Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate

      JEANNINE RENEE  MULHERN, GLEN SPEY, NEW YORK
		
          

Jeannine Renee Mulhern age 47 of Glen Spey, NY passed away on August 15, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY. Jeannine was born on April 14, 1970 in Morristown, NJ and is the daughter of Dave and Gail Stymacks. Michael,her husband met the love of his life in 1990 in Sackett Lake, Sullivan County whom he married on July 27, 1991, celebrating 26 years of marriage. At that time Jeannine was his personal care giver. She and her husband Michael owned and operated  the former White Glove Cleaning Service. Jeannine attended Berdan Institute in Totowa, NJ. She was a certified medical assistant and a phlebotomist. She graduated top of her class and continued her education at Sullivan County Community College, where she achieved a 4.0 GPA, making the Dean’s List. Jeannine was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY and Catskill Regional Hospital. She was a home health aide at Litson Health Care. Jeannine studied Abnormal Psychology at SUNY Sullivan. She was an advocate for Animal Rescue. Jeannine was a member of the Jehovah’s  Witnesses, Kingdom Hall, Milford, PA. She is survived by her husband Michael Mulhern at home, her Father Dave and Mother Gail, her brother David Stymacks and his wife Nancy, her sister Michelle Stymacks, sister in law Karen Mulhern and her husband Tommy , niece Tivoli Ved and her husband David , and expecting their new arrival in September, Sienna Ved, nephew Brian Stymacks,  and two great nieces. She leaves behind her precious dog Sadie and her parrot Murphy. Jeannine loved all animals. Services will be private. Winifred P. Coyne (known to her friends and loved ones as Una),age 80 of Milford, PA passed away  Monday, August 14, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Una’s strength, faith and determination to live through three decades of cancer has served as inspiration to friends and family alike,
was born on June 29, 1937 in Tipperary County, Ireland the daughter of  Patrick and Mary Ryan.  Winifred retired as a registered nurse  at Camp LaGuardia, Chester, NY.  She was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Milford, PA.  Winifred is survived by her husband Peter M. Coyne at home, her three sons,  Michael Coyne of Maybrook, NY, Patrick Coyne and his wife  Brenda  of Mamaronek, NY, Peter Coyne and his wife Lori of  Hawthorne, NY, five sisters; Maureen Corbett, Mary Clare 
Ryan, Helena Boland,  Nan Dawn and Elise  Ryan all of Ireland, two brothers, Dennis and Nicholas Ryan both of Ireland, her seven beloved grandchildren;  Claire, Emma, Dillon, Jackson, Mackenzie, Mia, Maeve, several nieces and nephews.       LLOYD R. RHOADES, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

Lloyd R. Rhoades, age 75 of Matamoras, PA and formerly a life long resident of Port Jervis, NY passed away August 15, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Place, Port Jervis, NY.
He was born on February 3, 1942 in Port Jervis, the son of Russell and Dora Worzel Rhoades. Lloyd  retired as a maintenance supervisor of Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis.
Lloyd married Elizabeth Martin Rhoades, who survives at home.  He is also survived by his  daughter, JoAnn VanHorn and her husband, Carl of Sparrowbush; his sons, Jeffrey Rhoades and his wife,  Heather of Port Jervis, Christopher Morock of El Paso, TX, Stephen Rhoades and his wife, Lori of Schenectady, NY; his brother, Robert Rhoades and his wife, Mildred of End North, CA; his beloved grandchildren: Heather, Carl, Gregory, Jillian, Jerilyn, Joseph, Brian, Drew and Tessa; three great-grandchildren: Hailey, Nick and Harry; also several nieces and nephews. He was formerly married to Barbara Newman of Port Jervis.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Port Jervis. He was also a 59 year member and Past Treasurer of the Neversink Engine Co. #1, Port Jervis Fire Dept., a member and Past President of the Port Jervis Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Port Jervis Tourism Board.
In his earlier years, he worked for Doctor’s Sunnyside Hospital, Port Jervis, he was employed by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home and worked as a monitor for the Port Jervis School District.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Firematic services  will be held Saturday evening at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Amy Garrett officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis.

James E. Sweitzer age 81 0f Otisville, NY passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was born on  June 17, 1936 in Hawley, PA the son of Fred W. And Mary Elizabeth Gregory Sweitzer.  After graduating high school he proudly served our country  from 1955-1957 with the US Navy.  He retired after 38 years of dedicated service as a equipment operator for  Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. at Port Jervis.  He was a member of the American Legion Post  #311, Hawley, PA and an active member of the Otisville Sportsman Club.  Jim married  Betty F. Hosking Sweitzer who survives at home.  He is also survived by his daughter Tammy Mann and her companion Douglas Cherry of Mt. Hope, NY, his son Brian Sweitzer  of Mt. Hope, his two sisters; Lorraine Hazen of PA and Ruth  Rose of Maryland, his beloved grandchildren;  Michelle and Jonelle Mann, Matthew and Katie Sweitzer, several nieces and nephews.  Graveside services with military honors will be held   11 AM Friday, August 18, at the Mount Hope Plains Cemetery, Otisville, NY.  Rev. Jeffrey Farley will officiate. (Bob) McCann, age 83, of Elkton, Virginia and formerly of Port Jervis, NY passed away on June 7, 2017 at the home of his brother and sister in law, William G and Nancy McCann, after a short illness. Bob was born October 21, 1933 to the late Thomas J. and Agnes Kohl McCann in Port Jervis, NY.  Bob was a Trooper with the New York State Police from August, 1956-June 1982 before retiring and moving to Virginia.  He was a US Navy (SeaBees) veteran and a member of the Holy Infant Catholic Church in Elkton, VA.  He was a avid reader and a true lover of all things Irish.  Bob was married to Ivy Louise Riggleman in 1980 and she predeceased him on May 28, 2017.  He is survived by his daughters, Robyn Fulk and her husband Danny of Richmond, VA and Tara McCann-Banghart and her husband, Chris of Port Jervis, NY.  He is also survived by his step children, Tara Ann Layman and William Corcoran.  In addition, he is survived by his grandson, John Lake of Evant, Texas, great granddaughter, Savannah Rose of Port Jervis, NY and his brother William (Bill) McCann and wife Nancy of Broadway, VA . He is also survived by several nieces,nephews and cousins in Ireland, Australia, England and Wales.   
He was predeceased by his sisters Helen Kline and MaryAnn Gosch and grandson, Donald Crane. The McCann family will receive friends  1-2 PM  Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Memorial services will be held Friday at 2 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.  Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.       ALBERT W. PHILLIPS, SR., CUDDEBACKVILLE, NEW YORK
		
          
Albert W. Phillips, Sr., age 80 of Cuddebackville, NY, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Middletown, NY. He was born on March 5, 1937 in Otisville, NY, the son of Thomas and Evelyn Conklin Phillips. 
Albert proudly served our country with the U.S. Army from 1960-1962. He worked as an auto mechanic until his retirement.
Albert married Patricia DeGraw on December 19, 1964, celebrating 52 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia at home; his three sons, Albert W.  Phillips, Jr. and his fiance, Cindy Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Forest A. Phillips and his wife, Lisa of Huguenot and James T. Phillips and his fiance, Chrissy Dolan of Cuddebackville; his daughter, Patricia LeFevre and her husband, Jason of Marlboro, NY; six grandchildren: Brandon, James, Ryan, Justin, Stephan and Jason; three sisters, Marlene, Darlene and Arbella; two brothers, Charles and Steve Phillips; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.

      HERBERT C. CRONK, MONTAGUE, NEW JERSEY
		
          

Herbert C. Cronk age 88 of Montague, NJ died August 1, 2017 at Belle Reve, Milford, PA.  He was born on January 7, 1929 in Stevensville, PA the son of  Burton and  Olive Baer Cronk.  Herbert proudly served our country from 1946-1949 with the US Army.  He was a charter member of the VFW Post in Montague, NJ and a member of the Montague Fire Dept.  He enjoyed bike riding, ice skating, dancing and spending time with his family.  Herbert worked as a Greens Keeper at numerous golf courses from the State of Florida to New York and Canada.  He also worked at C&D Battery in Huguenot, NY for many years.  He married Ernestine Forker  Cronk who pre-deceased him.   Herbert is survived by his two sons Bradley Cronk and his wife Donith of Port Jervis, Larry Cronk and his wife Anita of Montague, NJ, and his daughter Tracy  Hughson and her fiancé Mitchell Chasmar of Port Jervis.  He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; Angela, Jesse, Amy, Ashley, Michael, Kathleen and David, four great grandchildren; Liam Michael, Gwendolyn, Karter and Kasey. His brother-in -law Gary Forker and his wife Jackie of Arizona, several nieces and nephews.  Herbert was pre-deceased by his brother Samuel E. Cronk and two sisters Viola Staudt and Olive Bell-Taylor.  Memorial services will be held 3 PM  Friday, August 4 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Father Richard Bretone will officiate.  Interment will take place at East Herrick Cemetery,  Herrick Township, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Montague Fire department. Mary A. Prisco age 88 of Port Jervis, NY died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Milford Senior Care, Milford, PA.  She was born in Port Jervis, NY on April 6, 1929 the daughter of Henry and Charlotte L. Kline Stone.  Mary retired from Gillinder Brothers Glass Co. in Port Jervis.  She married  Carman”Chub” Prisco who pre-deceased her in 2005.  Mary is survived by her sons Carman “Barney” Prisco, III and his wife  Deanna of Otisville, NY and R. George Prisco of Matamoras, PA, her grandchildren; Lyndsay Foster  husband Chris, Casey  Prisco and his wife Emily, Carrie Morrison and her husband Darrell, Susan Kimbrough and her husband Paul, three great grandchildren; Layla, Cole and Clayton, several nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her sister Margaret Swanerbury and her brother Henry Stone.  Mary was a strong advocate for the Port Jervis  Republican  Committee.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family.  Her meatballs were OUTSTANDING!!  Visitation will be held  3-5 PM Thursday, August 3rd at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
