      WILLIAM LEIGH "BILL" CARMICHAEL, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK
		
          
William Leigh “Bill” Carmichael, age 73, died at home, July 27, 2017, after a long illness.  He was born November 10, 1943 in Middletown, NY to the late Kenneth and Norma Carmichael.   
Bill was a licensed land surveyor until his retirement in 2012. He married Sara Roth on June 20, 1964 in Middletown, NY. He was a loving husband and father known for his kindness and tireless assistance to his many friends. Since 1972, he served  as an elder in five different congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sara (Sally); his daughter, Lisa (Chris) Hallinan of NY; his son, Joel (Evelyn) Carmichael of Morris Plains, NJ; his brothers, Kenneth (Virginia) of Scotchtown, NY, John of VT and Timothy (Kathy) of Lee, NH; his sister, Elizabeth (Dan) Darling, Norma Jean (Jason) Harris of Circleville, NY; and four grandchildren: Courtney, Layla, Arlen, and Rowan.  He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy. 
The memorial service will be held  August 5, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Shin Hollow Rd, Port Jervis NY. Interment will be private.       JAMES T. QUICK, SHOHOLA, PENNSYLVANIA, FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          
James T. Quick age 70 of Shohola, PA and formerly of Port Jervis, NY passed away  July 25, 2017 at Middletown, NY surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was born on November 16, 1946 in Port Jervis the son of Everitt and Grace Montgomery Quick.  He proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the  US Air Force.  He retired  as a shipper-receiver after 40 years of service with numerous railroad  companies, the last being Norfolk Southern Railroad, Jersey City, NJ.  He was a member  of the undefeated DUSO Champions of 1963 in football, Port Jervis School District. He was a member of the TCU Union with the railroad and a member of the American Legion Post #685, Port Jervis.  He was also a member of several  baseball and softball teams and coached for many years at Hollidaysburg, PA.  He is survived by his son Lance Quick and his wife Carol of Pasadena, MD, his daughter Heather Quick and her companion Shannon May of Bellwood, PA, his long time companion June Garcia O’Donnell at home, his beloved grandchildren Savannah, Daryn, Lainey and Jayce, two nephews Joseph and James Kraycer and several cousins.  Jim  was pre-deceased by his two sisters Sandra Quick and Evaline Kraycer, his two grandsons Dalton and Dawson.  Jim and his family would like to send a special thank you to numerous people who touched his life and were dear friends throughout his life including two very special people, Erin and Shaun.       RICHARD E. GRAY, SR., MONTAGUE, NEW JERSEY
		
          
Richard E. Gray, Sr. age 76 of Montague, New Jersey  died Wednesday, July 19, 2017  at his home surrounded by his beloved wife Margaret.  Richard was born  on October 22, 1940  in Boonton, New Jersey the son of  Warner and  Emma Gould Gray.  He retired from SCARC  in Augusta, New Jersey.  Richard married Margaret “Peggy” Lamb Gray who survives at home.  He is also survived by his three children, Terry Foster and her husband Lloyd  of Ft. Myers, Florida, Richard Gray, Jr. of California, Jason Gray and his wife Toni of Los Osos, California, his sister  Caroline Flatt and her husband Charles of Boonton, NJ, four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, his brother-in-law Robert Lamb of Montague,  his sister-in-law MaryAnn Delman and her husband Frank of Blairstown, New Jersey, several nieces and nephews.  Richard was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Warner and  James Gray and his sister Arlene Sabo.  Richard was a faithful communicant of St. James The Greater RC Church in Montague.  He enjoyed golfing and was an avid fisherman.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, August 26th at St. Thomas The Apostle RC Church, Sandyston, New Jersey.  Rev.       SEAN P. RIORDAN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Sean P. Riordan age 29 of Port Jervis, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Port Jervis.  He was born on November 11, 1987 in Port Jervis, NY  the son of Stephen and Jerilyn  O’Connell Riordan.  Sean worked for the City of Port Jervis Department of Public Works.  He was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, Council #471, Port Jervis. Sean had many interests in life. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it be hunting with his brothers, riding his quad, searching for Indian artifacts or merely taking his dog Asia for a walk. A self taught musician he spent countless hours learning songs on his electric and acoustic guitars. But he was most happy when he was surrounded by his family and friends of whom he was fiercely loyal. He will be remembered for his unselfish acts of love and kindness towards others.  He is survived by his parents Stephen and Jerilyn Riordan at home, his brothers, Matthew Riordan and his wife Jessie of Port Jervis, Timothy Riordan and his wife Lynzee of Port Jervis, his maternal grandmother Linda O’Connell of Port Jervis,  his nephew Liam Riordan, several cousins, aunts and uncles.  He was pre-deceased by his  maternal grandfather Richard O’Connell and his paternal grandparents Joseph and Teresa Riordan.  Visitation will be held 2-6 PM Sunday, July 23, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Knights of Columbus will conduct services Sunday afternoon at 4 PM at the funeral home.  Prayers will be offered  9:15 AM Monday, July 24 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial  at 10 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis.  Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis,

      DOROTHY MAE KEYES, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Dorothy Mae Keyes was a lifelong resident of Port Jervis who passed away peacefully at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, New York, on Tuesday, July18, 2017. She was surrounded by her family and Pastoral staff of her Wickham Methodist Church Inc. Dorothy was 91.
Dorothy Mae Keyes, a virtuous and phenomenal woman, was born on October 31, 1925, in Montague, New Jersey. Dot was one of four children born to John Henry and Ethel Smith. She was predeceased by her brother Bob Smith, and sisters Isabelle Ann Fisher and Helen Walker. At five years of age she moved to Port Jervis where she became a member of what is now the Wickham Methodist Church Inc.
On July 4, 1942, she married Tech Sergeant Leonard J. Keyes. Dorothy was the proud mother of ten children; Robert Henry/Salih, Eric Andrew and wife Deborah, Steven Leslie and wife Nelly, Diana Lynn, Sheryl Ann, and Bryan and wife Teresa. Dorothy was predeceased by sons Leonard J. Keyes Jr., Nelson Allen and wife Paula, Gary Mitchell and Michael Anthony.
As a member of Wickham Methodist Church Inc. for more than eighty-six plus years,
Dot served the church in every capacity, leaving only the preaching to the many Pastors who served during her life time. In addition to her church contributions, Dorothy volunteered in numerous community organizations including St. Francis Hospital and the Health Center.
Dorothy loved her husband, her siblings and all of her children. She loved her church and her community also supporting police and fire department funding initiatives. She made sure that virtually everyone in the church received a love token at Christmas time. In addition to her immediate family, she is mourned by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, adopted grandchildren and the Children of Wickham. People always say how much someone will be missed, but all of us who knew her, really really really know how much she will be missed.  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 12:00pm until 1:30pm at the Wickham Methodist Church Inc. located at 32 Bruce Street, Port Jervis, New York, 12771. The funeral service will take place immediately following at 1:30pm and will be officiated by Pastor V. Jean McBryde.

      GEORGE H. FULLER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          
George H. Fuller age 93 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Port Jervis.  He was born  in Port Jervis, NY  on December 21, 1923 the son of Stanley and Edna Gilson Fuller.  George proudly served our country with the US Navy as a submarine chaser aboard the USS Core during WW II in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.  He retired as a conductor for Conrail RR, Port Jervis and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman. George married Edna Jane Irwin Fuller who pre-deceased him in 1985.  He is survived by his daughter Virginia Hendry and her husband James of Port Jervis, his son,  George E. Fuller USAF and his wife Barbara of Newnan, Georgia,  his longtime companion Nicole Campbell and family of Port Jervis,  his brothers: Frank  and Kenneth Fuller both of Port Jervis, his sister Mary Longwell and her husband Barry of  Port Jervis, his beloved grandchildren; Hon. James M. Hendry, III and his wife Sarah, Mark Hendry, P.E.  and his wife Carly, Anthony Fuller USAF and his wife Katie, Erik Fuller and his wife Michelle, Alex Fuller, Sherry Kirkpatrick and family, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was known as "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his  brothers Stanley, Russell and Robert Fuller and his sister Thelma Utter.  George was a member and Past Captain of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis, a member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645, B.P.O.E., and a member of the Port Jervis Fire Dept, Hose Co. # 5.  He was an avid golfer and a member of the Port Jervis Country Club for many years.  He was an avid fisherman and often led the Fuller Clan during various ice fishing outings.  Graveside services with military honors will be held  12 noon, Friday, July 21 at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.       CHARLES L. "SKIP" SCHROEDER, JR., ELDRED, NEW YORK
		
          

Charles L. "Skip" Schroeder, Jr., age 70, of Eldred, NY, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2017 at New York Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness.
Charles was born April 7, 1947 to Norma (Ott) Schroeder and the late Charles L. Schroeder, Sr. in Callicoon, NY. He was a graduate of Eldred Central School and before his retirement worked for the Lumberland Highway Department in Glen Spey.
Charles married Rosalind (Rosie) Schroeder in 1977 and recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. He is survived by his wife, Rosie; son, Jason Schroeder (and girlfriend, Corie);  daughter, Michele Schroeder of Eldred; his mother, Norma of Eldred; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Halstead Schroeder and Christopher Schroeder, both of Eldred, Annaleigh and Connor Schroeder of Narrowsburg, (and former daughter-in-law, Deborah); his brother, Alan (wife, Dolores) Schroeder of Alabama; and sister, Joan (brother-in-law, Grant) Pauley of Port Jervis; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was a long standing member of the Highland Lake Fire Department and Dive Team. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, work in his garden and selling Pampered Chef products. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing Santa on the Fire Truck.
Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Firematic services will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13th at Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home. Rev. Douglas Lee will officiate. Interment will follow at Glen Spey Cemetery, Glen Spey, NY.

      ELLEN M. FOUNTAIN, SHOHOLA, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

Ellen M. Fountain age 87 of  Shohola, PA passed away July 6, 2017 at home.  She was born on December 25, 1929  in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of  Fred and Wilhelmina Rosenwinkel Gosch.  Ellen married Eugene W. Fountain who pre-deceased her.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan McBride and her husband Ray of Port Jervis and Carol Gillen and her husband Jerry of Middletown.  She is also survived by three of her sons, Paul Fountain and his wife Bettie of Shohola, PA, Bill Fountain and his wife Pat of Forest City, PA, and Michael Fountain of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren: Ray Jr., Brian, Meghan, Jerry Jr., Adam, Dawn, Rebecca, and Bridget; eight great grandchildren: Joey, Nicholas, Aiden, Kylie, Blake, Chase, Mia, and Kayla, several nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her son, Gary Fountain, and her brother, Paul Gosch.
Ellen and Gene were life-partners, committed through thick and thin in their 63 years of marriage and beyond.  Ellen was a dedicated homemaker and stay-at-home mom for many years, followed by employment at Chronar and later retiring from the Pike County Recorder of Deeds Office.  Ellen enjoyed needlework, ceramics, stained glass, gardening, friends, and family gatherings, but few things gave her more pleasure than the home she and Gene built together and the sunsets from her porch.
Visitation will be held 11 AM- 12 noon Friday, July 14, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home.  Rev. (Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate.   Private interment will take place at Milford Cemetery, Milford, PA.       IGNATIUS "JOHN" SYBRANDY, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

Ignatius “John”  Sybrandy age 81 of Matamoras, PA passed away July 6, 2017 at home.  He was born on January 9, 1936 in Medemblik, Holland the son of  George Sybrandy and  Anna Maria Roozendaal Sybrandy.  John Married Janny  Van Gilst Sybrandy who pre-deceased him  on August 16, 2016.  He was a very faithful member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA and an active member of  John Paul II Knights of Columbus Council 13935 in Milford, PA.  He is also a former  District Deputy, Past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Bishop McCormack 4th Degree Assembly.  He is a life member of the  Matamoras Rod & Gun Club, a member of the Matamoras Borough Council and Planning Board.  He was a former Boy Scout  Assistant Scout Master  for Troop #173, Boy Scouts of America, Port Jervis.  John owned and operated Sybrandy’s  Deli in Matamoras  for many years.  He was a retired security receiver at Shop Rite Food Store in Montague and Middletown and a retired transportation coordinator at Glen Arden, Goshen, NY.  John is survived by his four sons, Cornelius A. Sybrandy and Vanessa of Marriottsville, MD, Paul George Sybrandy and Diana of Carbondale, PA, Johannes P. Sybrandy  and his wife Amber of Dingman’s Ferry, PA, George Rodgers and Kathy of Oakridge, NJ, two daughters; Anna  M. Rolando and her husband Doc of Hewitt, NJ, Patricia C. Fernot of Vernon, NJ, his sister Catharina DeVries, two brothers, Johannes P. Sybrandy and Bernardus Sybrandy all of Holland,  19 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  John was pre-deceased by his brother Peter B. Sybrandy.  Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, July  10, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.           Kathryn J. Sigler age 97 of Glen Spey, NY passed away, Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the home of her son, Michael in Hilton Head, SC.  She was born on November 14, 1919 in Frankford Township, New Jersey, the daughter of Judson and Susie Skellinger DeGroat.   She was a faithful member of the Pond Eddy United Methodist Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Lumberland Fire Dept. and a member of the Lumberland Seniors.  Kathryn married Kenneth C. Sigler, who predeceased her.  She is survived by her son, Michael Sigler and his wife  Shirley of Hilton Head, SC, her three daughters, Sheila Hocker, of Glen Spey, Shirley Mellan and her husband Joseph of Glen Spey, Irene Gazzillo and her companion, Richard  O’Brien of New Jersey,  her brother, Clinton DeGroat and his wife Myrtle Mae of Branchville, NJ, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Kathryn was predeceased by her sister, Regina Pittenger and her husband  Roy, her son-in-law, Marv Hocker, and her great grandson, Justin Storms.       GLEN E. HUNTER, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

Glen E. Hunter, age 84 of Matamoras, PA, passed away June 29, 2017 at home with his loving family beside him. He was born on February 23, 1933 in Curry, NY, the son of Howard and Vera Dice Hunter.
He proudly served our country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy. Glen retired as a truck driver for Yellow Freight Trucking Co. at Maybrook, NY. 
He is survived by his longtime companion, Patricia  Wheeling at home. He is also survived by his former wife, Hazel Haitan Hunter of Matamoras, PA; his son, Glen Hunter and Nancy of Roxboro, NC; his daughter, Vivian Hunter and Rick of Napanoch, NY;  daughters, Kathy Hunter of Sparrowbush, Judy Amato and her husband, Joe of Sparrowbush, Jane Corlette and her husband, Bill of the State of Florida; sons, Ronald Wehner of Matamoras and Ray Wehner and his wife, Linda of Milford, PA; his sister, Myrtle Kortright of Neversink, NY; his beloved grandchildren, Vincent, Chelsea, Alex, William Jr., Amanda, Jessica, Jeanine, Jennifer, Joelynn, Juli, Joey, Lauren, and Ryan; his great grandchildren, Maleah, Devin, Kalani, McKyla, Mackenzie, Jayse, and Tommy.
He was pre-deceased by his son, Gary; his two sisters, Arlene D’Lamarter and Grace Loomis.
Glen will also be missed by Pat’s children, Tina, Joseph, Michele, Diane, Marianne and her grandchildren Alisa, Michael, Gina, Garritt, Andrew, Alex, Benjamin, and Jenna.
Glen was a member of the Clareyville Dutch Reformed Church, and a member of the American Legion Post, Kingston, NY.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 7th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services and military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Amy Garrett officiating.
Interment will take place at the Clareyville Cemetery, Clareyville, NY.
