      EDWARD J. FELTER, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK 
		
          

Edward J. Felter age 67 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Port Jervis.  He was born on  May 26, 1949 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Frank  H. and Laura Thornton Felter.  Ed retired from the A & P Stores as manager at Middletown, New York and Milton, New Jersey  after 30 plus years of dedicated service.    He married Laurel “Laurie” Everitt Felter who survives at home.  He is also survived by his daughter Victoria Sickler and her husband  Matthew of Shohola, PA, his son Edward “Ted” Felter, Jr of Santa Monica, Calif., his brother Frank Felter and his wife  Sandy of Port Jervis, his beloved grandchildren; Alexis, Hunter and Anna Sickler; his nephews; Frank and Daniel and his nieces Dawn and Andrea, his sister-in-law Patty Cole and her husband Bob of Montague, NJ.  Ed was a member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645 B.P.O.E.  Visitation  will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, March  22 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 23rd at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate.  Cremation will follow at HG Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American  Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD. 20852.       SHARON J. HORAN, KINGSTON, NEW YORK FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Sharon J. Horan age 70 of Kingston , NY passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Health Alliance Hospital, Kingston, NY.  She was born on December 10, 1946 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Vincent P. and Jean E. Onofry Horan.  Sharon retired as a communications manager/ director at I.B.M., Kingston after many years of dedicated service.  Following her retirement she owned and operated  SJH Communications in Kingston and taught communications at Marist College in Poughkeepsie.  Sharon is survived by her sister Jean M. Horan and her husband Philip M.  Schulp of Garrett Park, Maryland,  her niece Gianna Schulp, her aunts, Diane Horan of Maineville, Ohio, Marlene Horan of Port Jervis, Dorothy Onofry of Port Jervis and Viola Thurston of St. Petersburg, Florida and several cousins.  She is also survived by her beloved pet dog “Quinn”.  She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Kingston and a member of the Kingston Rotary.  She attended The Sisters of Christian Charity Convent  in Mendham, New Jersey.  Visitation will be held 9:30 AM-10:30 AM Monday, March 20 th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Prayers will be offered at 10:15 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY.  Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s R.C.       NORMAN D. KRAUSE, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

Norman D. Krause age 89 of Matamoras, PA passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on August 15, 1927 in Matamoras, PA the son of  Frank L. and Katherine Dorer Krause.  
 
Norman married Laura  J. Aumick Krause on September 28, 1952 who survives him at home.  He is also survived by his sons; Richard Krause and his wife Kathy of Syracuse, NY, David Krause and his wife Sharon Kelly Krause of Matamoras, PA, Steven C. Krause of Milford, PA; his beloved grandchildren;  Katie Krause, Megan Krause, both of Matamoras, PA, Jennifer Krause Lawless  and her husband  Chris of Tampa, FL, Jillian Krause and her husband Derek of Ruskin, FL, and David, Jr. of Matamoras, PA; his two great grandchildren Clara and Jacob Lawless, his sister-in-law Rayola Warne and her husband William of Florida, and her sister-in-law June Losee of Matamoras, PA., several nieces and nephews. 
 
Norman proudly served our country in the U.S. Merchant Marines at the end of WW II and was honorable discharged December 1946 from the U.S. Coast Guard. He was drafted into the US Army in 1950 during the Korean War, serving overseas until his discharge in August 1952. Norm continued to serve five years with the Reserves and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard (Homeland Security).   Norman retired as General Supervisor of Substations for Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. in Monroe, NY.  Following his retirement Norm drove bus for Indian Head Canoes during the summer months.  He also drove bus for the Delaware Valley School District, Campbell Bus Co and Krise Bus.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras.  He was a Sunday School teacher at the Dutch Reform Church in Port Jervis, NY for fourteen years. Norman served as vice president for the Borough of Matamoras Council; he was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645, B.P.O.E.; a life member and Past Commander of Rosa-Fleming V.F.W. #161, Port Jervis; he was a Cub Scout Master of Pack # 77 for twelve years; he was the oldest member and Past Chief of the Matamoras Fire Department.  In his earlier years with the fire department, he installed the fire alarm system throughout the borough of Matamoras. Although it is no longer in service it was used for many years. He was also a life member of the American Legion, Milford, PA.  He was 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Milford Lodge of Masons #344, F&AM.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman  and a member of the Mill Rift  Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.    
 
Services will be private. Interment will take place with military honors at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA.       BARBARA HEMLEB TROVEI, PLANTATION, FLORIDA, FORMERLY OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Barbara Hemleb Trovei, age 80 of Plantation, FL  and formerly a lifelong resident of Port Jervis, NY, passed away November 20, 2016 at Sunrise, FL. She was born on November 8, 1936 in Port Jervis, the daughter of Clifford and Edna Coleman Hemleb.  
Barbara was an antiques dealer in Port Jervis and Florida. She owned and operated Barbara’s  Papertiques in Florida. Barbara was a faithful  member of the First Baptist Church in Port Jervis and a member of the Port Jervis Lions Club.  She married  Lambert “Lum” Trovei who pre-deceased her.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sherry Latini and her husband, Joseph of Saugerties, NY; her son, David W. Case and his wife, Lynne of Silver Springs, MD; three grandchildren: Joshua Case and his wife, Stephany, Jennifer and Ryan Case; one great granddaughter, Mia Case.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, Clifford Hemleb.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 24 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Rev. Richard MacDonald will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA.

      JEANETTE SWINGLE, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK
		
          
Jeanette Swingle, age 74 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at the River Valley Care, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born on May 29, 1942 in the Bronx, NY the daughter of  the late Frank and Sadie  Natale Viola. Jeanette married Robert Wayne Swingle who pre-deceased her.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews including Cynthia Clark and her husband, Kenneth of Sparrowbush, NY, Robin Rudiger and her husband, Paul of Alta Loma, CA and Robert Keener of the Town of Greenville, NY.  She is also survived by her step-daughter, Brenda Prater of the State of Florida.  Jeanette was pre-deceased by her infant son.
Services will be private. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.

      CHARLES J. PRESTO, III, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          

Charles J. Presto, III age 60 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Westchester Medical Ctr.,, Valhalla, NY surrounded by his family.  
He was born on  November 13, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of the late Charles Presto, Jr and Catherine Caliciotti Presto who survives.  Charles owned and operated Charles Presto Custom Carpentry in Port Jervis.  He married  Vicki Eagle Presto who survives at home.  He is also survived by his mother Catherine Caliciotti Presto of Scranton, PA, his two sons Charles Presto, IV and his wife Rebecca of  Port Jervis, Lennon  J. Presto and his fiancé Kalyn Sasso of Port Jervis, his  daughter  Onastasia Struble and her husband Christopher of Port Jervis, his sister, Lisa Presto of Scranton, Pa, his brothers; Richard Presto and his wife Jen of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Tyrone Presto, Sr of Plymouth, PA, Jeffrey Presto and his wife Becky of Pleasantville, PA, Dwayne Presto and his companion Ron  of Bedford, NJ, Dana Presto and his wife Barbara of Port Jervis, Timothy Presto, Sr. of Scranton, PA,, 12 grandchildren, his mother-in-law  Beverly Eagle of Matamoras, PA, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Charles was pre-deceased by his son Dominic Presto,  and his brother Gregory Presto.  Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM Thursday, March 16th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.       HELEN M. "PINKY" HANSER, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          

Helen M. “Pinky” Hanser, age 70 passed away March 8, 2017 at Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was born on July 11, 1946  in Franklin, NJ, the daughter of the late George and Mildred Gould Gunderman.
Helen  is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; her son, Lance and her daughter, Renee Tabaka. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan  Decker of Montague, NJ and RuthAnn Sanders of McAfee, NJ; her brother, Everett “Mike” Gunderman of Franklin, NJ, her former husband Lance Tabaka of Harford, PA; her “Grand Dog Blu” and several nieces and nephews. Helen was pre-deceased by her beloved daughter, Michele Tabaka-Lempka and her brothers: George, Charles and John Gunderman. Helen’s family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 15th at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Rev. Leonard  Gilpin will officiate.  Interment will be private.

      JACK F. BALCH, MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          Jack F. Balch age 79 of Milford, PA passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his home.  He was born on December 25, 1937 in Matamoras, PA the son of  Leonard L. Balch, Sr. and  Hazel McElroy Balch.  Jack proudly served our country with the United States Air Force  from 1956-1962.  He was a retired dock worker for P.I.E. Trucking Co. at Maybrook, NY.  Jack was a former member of the Roosa-fleming V.F. W. Post #161 in Port Jervis and a member of the Lost Camp Hunting Club, Millrift, PA.  He is survived by his brother Leonard L. Balch, Jr., his nephews Aaron and Timothy Balch, Brian, Dennis, Michael Balch and his niece Rachael McAlpine.  He is also survived by his very special friend Paula Szucs.  He was pre-deceased by his brother Dennis Balch and his sister-in-law Joan Balch.  Private interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA at a later date.
