KENNETH J. O' DAY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Kenneth J. O’Day age 59 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Saturday, June 25 at the Northern Manor Multi Care Center. in Nanuet, NY. He was born on September 7, 1956 in Port Jervis, NY the son of William H. and Martha Conklin O’Day. Ken worked as a dairy farmer at Indian Acres Dairy farm in Port Jervis. Ken was a dedicated member of the Huguenot Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife Joann Bonker at home, his daughter Paige Bonker at home, his sisters; Theresa, Martha and his twin sister Carol, his brothers; Hal, Harry, Clarence and Ralph. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Casey, Rosalee and Anthony. He was pre-deceased by his two brothers William and Ben. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Firematic services will be held at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Capt. Kelly Ross of the Port Jervis Salvation Army officiating. Christina J. Quick passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. Beloved wife of William N. Quick, who pre-deceased her in 1982. Dear daughter of the late Raymond S. and Ida M. Schwartz Hallock. Devoted mother of Elaine Layton and her husband Richard, Susan Quick and her husband Robert Selsky. Dear sister of Evelyn Hamilton and Marjorie Hallock, and brothers Sherwood, Donald and Douglas who pre-deceased her. Loving grandmother of William Florkowski and his wife Laura, and Alexandra Florkowski; loving great-grandmother of Jane Florkowski. She is also survived by longtime friends Margaret Kinney and Lillian Angelakos, and several nieces and nephews. Christina was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church in Port Jervis. She was an avid gardener who gladly shared her knowledge with others.

Carolyn Jacobus age 89 of Port Jervis, NY passed away June 23, 2016 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis. She was born on August 29, 1926 in Matamoras, PA the daughter of Herbert A. and Gladys Montgomery Haas.
Carolyn retired as an assembler for Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Guild of the church. She was a member of the Pocono Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Port Jervis Seniors.
Carolyn married Joseph A. Jacobus who pre-deceased her on February 13, 1996. She is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Barbara and William Hockenberry of Port Jervis, MaryAnn and Marvin Wolfe of Easton, PA, several great nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law, Carol B. Haas and her beloved pet dog, “Memphis”. Carolyn was pre-deceased by her four brothers: Clarence, Herbert, Charles and Russell Haas; her two sisters: Gladys Decker and Pearl Decker; and her little pet dog, "Sarah Lee".

Jeanne Buss Gillinder age 87 of Port Jervis, NY died on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at her home. She was born on March 4,1929 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of William Allen Buss and Susan Vargo Buss Brodt. She married Edwin H. Gillinder who pre-deceased her on May 12, 1991. Jeanne is survived by her three children; Susan H. Gillinder and her husband Robert Ritchie of Port Jervis, Lyn Mack and her husband Brant of Albany, NY and Charles E. Gillinder and his wife Allyson of Matamoras, PA. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Hillary Gillinder, Sarah Butto and her husband Joe, Claire Ritchie, Edward and Stuart Mack, her sister, Evelyn Conover of Virginia, her long time companion Dr. Paul D. Horsman of Port Jervis, several nieces and nephews. She loved her family very much and their company gave her great joy. Jeanne was a faithful member of the Drew United Methodist Church in Port Jervis, a member and Past President of the UMW (United Methodist Women). She was past president of the Port Jervis Antique Study Club and a member of the Milford Bridge Group. She was a former board member and past secretary for the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society for many years. Jeanne retired as a legal secretary for Henry J. Holley, Attorney At Law in Port Jervis. Joan M. Norris age 83 of Westbrookville, NY passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. She was born on September 14, 1932 in Oceanside, NY and is the daughter of the late Henry and Jane Trinka Lear. Joan was a secretary for D & J Electric in Westbrookville, NY. She was a long time member of Westbrookville United Methodist Church in Westbrookville, NY. Joan was married to the late Alexander David Norris. She is survived by: two daughters: Kathleen Perry and her husband Paul of Westbrookville, NY and Wendy Ferrara and her husband Skip of Sparrowbush, NY; one son: William Norris and his wife Gail of Barefoot Bay, FL; fourteen grandchildren: Trisha and Tony Fuller, Nicholas and Maigan Ferrara, Brandon and Kim Norris, Ryan and Aletha Norris, Jessie and Jermey Yela, Tarah and Dave Miller, Mark and Nathalie Perry

Betty Lou Smith age 74 of Wurtsboro, NY and formerly of Port Jervis, NY passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at her home. She was born on September 2, 1941 in Callicoon, NY the daughter of Daniel H. and Nellie Stewart LaBarr. Betty retired from First Nationwide Bank in Port Jervis. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg, NY. Betty served the Order of the Eastern Star for 53 years. She is a member of the River Valley Chapter #33, Port Jervis; the Revonah -Lincoln-Kiamesha Chapter #443, Liberty, NY, and the Nauraushaun Chapter #371, Pearl River, NY. She served as Worthy Matron seven times. She was District Deputy Grand Matron of the Orange-Rockland District from 1990-2010 and a Grand Color Bearer in 2011. Betty is currently the Associate Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter OES, NYS and would be Grand Matron in the year 2017. Betty was formerly married to the late Frederick Mason and second to the late Ronald W. Smith. She is survived by her sons, Michael F. Mason of Wurtsboro, Douglas M. Smith and his wife Beverley of Port Jervis, Michael E. Smith and his wife Lynne of Spring Valley, Geoffrey T. Smith and his wife Maryellen of Blauvelt, NY; her daughters, Charlotte M. Bonomolo and her husband Jerome of Pearl River, Jennifer L. Altneu and her companion Don of Spring Valley; her sister Ruth Ann Brockner and her husband Alan of North Branch, NY, her brother Daniel A. LaBarr and his wife Ann of Beaver Brook, NY, her beloved grandchildren, Douglas, Michael, Allyson, Kristina, Matthew, Bret, several nieces and nephews. Christine Olsavsky age 63 of Barryville, NY passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis.
Christine was born on February 5, 1953 on Dearborn, Michigan.
Christine was a creative and talented artist. She was a member of the Pond Eddy United Methodist Church.
Christine is survived by her fiancé, John Rogers at home; her brother, Steve Olsavsky, and his wife, Julie, of Rochester Hills, Michigan; her sister, Kathy Ashley-Brown, and her husband, Chuck, of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loving pet Labs Mattie and Sophie.
Memorial services, to be announced at a later date will be held at the Pond Eddy United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.
