TAMMY E. RIDDLE, WESTTOWN, NEW YORK
Tammy E. Riddle, age 34 of Westtown, NY passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at her home. She was born on January 11, 1980 in Kenmore, NY, the daughter of Gary E. and Debra L. Arcilesi Riddle. Tammy worked as an administrative secretary for Unkefer Brothers Construction Co. in Philadelphia, PA. She was a member of the Westtown Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Debra Riddle of Westtown, her son, Donovan James Riddle-Underwood at home, her sister, Ashley Marie Riddle of Ocala, Florida, her maternal grandparents, Gaspar and Marie Arcilesi of Westtown, her niece Haleigh, two nephews, Alex and Caio, several aunts, uncles and cousins. A family statement read "Tammy courageously fought her battle against cancer. Her motto was "one step at a time" , her positive attitude came from the strength and love of her son Donovan and the love of her family." Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 29, at 1 PM at the Westtown Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 807 Rt. 284, Westtown, NY. Pastor Robert Keene will officiate. Lester F. Donahue, age 84 of Wurtsboro, NY, formerly of Glen Spey, NY, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Orange Regional Medical Ctr., Middletown, NY. He was born on February 7, 1930 in Glen Spey, NY, the son of the late Albert and Lillian Dexter Donahue. Lester proudly served our country from 1954-1962 with the U.S. Army. He worked with the Nutrition Program, delivering meals on wheels for the Sullivan County Department of Social Services in Monticello, NY. Lester is survived by his brother, John "Wick" Donahue of Narrowsburg, NY, his four sisters, Lucy "Tiny" Brown of Glen Spey, Adele LaBarr of Liberty, NY, Nellie Hjerrild of Milford, Pennsylvania, and Lena Kent of Port Jervis, NY, his long time companion, Beverly Houseworth and her daughter, Lori Feely of Wurtsboro, NY. NANCY J. REILLY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Nancy J. Reilly age 72 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis, NY. She was born on June 22, 1941 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Charlotte McAllister Reilly. Nancy retired after many years of service, from the cafeteria department of the Port Jervis Middle School. She was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Port Jervis. Nancy is survived by her two brothers, John Reilly and his wife Frances of Carneys Point, New Jersey and James Reilly and his wife Clara of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, her brother-in-law, James Hinkley of Port Jervis, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceaesd by her two sisters, Patricia Fish and Susan Hinkley. Services will be private. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY. ROSE E. McDAVITT, GLEN SPEY, NEW YORK
Rose E. McDavitt, age 61, of Glen Spey, NY, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was born on August 3, 1952 in Marion, Virginia, the daughter of Howard and Beulah Davidson Talley. Rose was a newspaper delivery carrier for many years for the Times Herald Record, Middletown, NY. She married Earl McDavitt, Jr., who survives at home. Rose is also survived by her daughter, Melissa Speaker and her husband Richard of Port Jervis, her grandson, Jason Ward, her brother, Douglas Talley of Kansas and her sister Patricia Papp and her husband Jerry of New Jersey, several nieces, nephews and her beloved pet dogs, Jesse, Jake, and Jo-Jo. She was pre-deceased by her three brothers Robert , James, and Dewey Talley. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. RICHARD "RICK" SHEVLIN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Richard "Rick" Shevlin, age 62 of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. He was born on July 26, 1951 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Robert Shevlin and Doris VanGorder Shevlin, who survives. Rick started working at the age of 18 with the Erie-Lackawanna R.R. in Port Jervis. He enjoyed attending the annual reunions and sharing stories with his fellow railroaders. He then worked for many years with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., in Middletown, NY and later with Summitt Research in Huguenot, NY. He was a life member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645, B.P.O.E. and a social member of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post #161, Port Jervis. Rick's favorite past time was working in his yard and socializing with friends, especially on his favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day. He enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's Church, helping to prepare and serve the traditional St. Patrick's Day meal. More recently he could be seen in the kitchen cooking corn beef at the VFW Post in Port Jervis. Rick married Janet Welch Shevlin, who survives at home. He is also survived by his mother Doris Shevlin of Montague, NJ, his son James Shevlin of Louisiana, his daughter-in-law Tammy Bigger Shevlin, his grandchildren, the light of his life, Alyssa, Kayla, and Andrew Shevlin, his sister, Nancy Juerez and her husband Jeffrey of Texas, his two brothers, Donald Shevlin of Hawaii, and Kenneth "KC" Shevlin of Montague and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His special cousins, Ronald and Sue Millspaugh and his special friend, Russell Van Horn, all of whom helped to lessen his worries during his time of need. Memorial services will be held at the Roosa-Fleming VF W Post, #161, Owen St., Port Jervis and will be announce at a later date. Vincent James Lapriore, age 84 of Dunellen, Florida and formerly a long time resident of Port Jervis, passed away at Dunellen, Florida on February 28, 2014. He was born on March 7, 1929 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Patrick and Jennie Vaccarini Lapriore. Vincent proudly served our country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy. After his retirement from the Erie R.R. in Port Jervis, he moved to Florida and worked as a chemist . Vincent married Ruth Erickson Lapriore, who survives at home. He is also survived by his son Guy Lapriore of Dunellen, Fla. and his two sisters, Jane Drake of Matamoras, Pennsylvania and Beverly Walker and her husband Ronald of the Town of Greenville, NY. Vincent was pre-deceased by his brothers, Anthony, Sandy, Michael and Rocco Lapriore, his brother-in-law Jack Drake and his niece Cathy Van Horn. Funeral services were private. LEON C. ABER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Leon C. Aber, Jr., age 67 of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on April 11, 1946 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Leon C. Aber, Sr. and Beatrice M. Parker Aber. Leon proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the U.S. Marines. He was a life member of the Tri-State Naval Ship, Post 7241, Port Jervis. He was a retired welder and worked in the manufacturing of Ski Lifts. Leon was known for his compassion of dogs and will always be remembered for being seen walking several of his pet dogs connected to one leash as he walked throughout Port Jervis. He is survived by his two brothers, William and Donald Aber both of Port Jervis and his sister, Alice Marie Aber of Clinton, Illinois. He is also survived by Jeanie Myers, who he looked upon as his own daughter, and her extended family. He was pre-deceased recently, by his brother John Aber. Graveside services with military honors were held Wednesday, March 19 at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Russell Emil Brockmann, age 93 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania., passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Milford Senior Health Care Facility, Milford, PA.. Russell was born on December 23, 1920 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Frederick and Helen Catherine Rebert Brockmann. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras. Russell was the retired proprietor of Russ Motors in Matamoras for many years. He married Katherine H. Thomas who pre-deceased him. Russ is survived by his son, Rusty Brockmann and his wife Josie MeGehee of New York City, NY, his daughter, Barbara Hagan and her husband Bill of Woodridge, New Jersey and his grandson, Michael Z. George "Robbie" Robertson III, age 60, of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on October 2, 1953, in Middletown, NY, the son of the late George R. and Ruth Dunn Robertson. After graduating from High School, Robbie continued his education at Cobleskill College, earning his Associates Degree. Robbie was a retired Therapy Aid at Letchworth Village, in Haverstraw, NY. After retiring from the State of New York, he was employed by Price Chopper Food Store at Matamoras, Penna. He is survived by his sister, Suzanne Jarrell and her husband Victor of Quincy, Mass., his two nieces, Alicia and Katie Jarrell, and several cousins including Brian and Steven Pagano. Frances E. Hosking, age 92 of Port Jervis, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was born on September 22, 1921 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Francis and Susan Murray. Frances was an active member of the Drew United Methodist Church, Port Jervis, and a member of the United Methodist Women. Fran married John R. "Dick" Hosking, who pre-deceased her in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Culver and her husband Michael of Port Jervis, her two grandchildren, Amanda Davis and her husband Bryan and Zachary Culver and his wife Diana, , her great grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas and Brady (her little Love Bug), her two brothers, Lawrence Murray and his wife Alice of Port Jervis, and Robert Murray and his wife Agnes of Port Jervis and several nieces and nephews. Frances was pre-deceased by her sister, Marilyn Borkenhagen. Fran will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family; especially memorable were her “classic” Aunt Fran stories that were an indispensable part of every family gathering.

Herbert "Drew" Crine, age 89 of Matamoras, Pa, passed away, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 2, 1924 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Leslie and Edna Curran Crine. Drew proudly served our country during WW II with the U.S. Navy. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Matamoras, and a member of the Tri-State Naval Ship#7241, Port Jervis. Drew retired as a conductor from Conrail R.R. in Port Jervis. He married Anne P. Ricciardi Crine on June 20, 1948, celebrating sixty-five years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Ann, at home, his two daughters, Mary Jacobs and her husband Ferris of Portland, Maine, and Donna Knight and her husband Richard of Matamoras, PA, his son Michael Crine of Quakertown, PA., four grandchildren, Heather Quinn and her husband Jeff, Amanda Kranik, Sharon and Laura Jacobs, his seven great grandchildren, Meagan, Steven, Colin, Brianna, Katrina, William and Liam and several nieces and nephews. Charles G. Croopin, Jr., age 86 of Port Jervis, NY, passed away, Tuesday, March 4, 20124 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on March 29, 1927 in Port Jervis, the son of the late Charles and Stella Egglinger Croopin. Charles was a retired carpenter with The United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union Local 19. Following graduation form Port Jervis High School, Charles proudly served our country during WW II with he U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was an instructor for the replacement training center in heavy weapons, (812) in the USA. He was a 50 year member of the James C. Bilz Post, American Legion, in Port Jervis and a member of the 40-8 Club of the American Legion. He served as Chef de Garde from 1955-1956 in Orange County. He was also a member of the Marsch-Kellogg American Legion in Milford, PA. He attended the Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis. Charles married Rhoda A. Schwaner Croopin, who pre-deceased him. He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Britt and her husband William of Smithtown, NY and Caroline Croopin of Port Jervis, his three grandchildren, Adam Britt and his wife Dee, Colby Britt, Jessica Weissman and her husband Jeff, three great grandchildren, Joshua,Jacob, and Tyler. JEAN M. MUNOZ, MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
Jean M. Munoz, 76, passed away on March 2, 2014 at Belle Reve Senior Care in Milford, Pennsylvania.
She was born on May 1st, 1937 in Middletown, N.Y. to Helen and Ralph Clark. She was married to the late Joseph Munoz. She is survived by her brother Francis "Butch" Lemon and his wife Kay of Matamoras, Pa. and also by her sister Peggy Grennille and her husband Bill of Montague, NJ. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Munoz of Port Jervis, NY. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Mapes Lemon and step-father Francis "Abby" Lemon Sr., her sister Patricia Emery and her brother Ralph Clark. She is further survived by nieces Karen Lemon Folsom and Elizabeth and Megan Grennille and nephews Craig Lemon, Michael and Christopher Grennille and James Emery.
Jean retired from Dow Corning, now Summit of Huguenot, NY where she worked in the office. She attended the Matamoras Methodist Church and later the Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis, NY. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Rosa-Fleming VFW Post # 161. She also bowled in the Tri-State Women's Bowling League for many years. She was also a member of the River Valley Chapter Order of Eastern Star # 33 of Port Jervis, NY.
Jean will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her cheerful outlook on life and her wonderful way of knowing and loving so many! She was a friend to all. Baking was her favorite hobby. She was always making a birthday cake, a cake to take to church, brownies to take to the VFW or for some holiday or special occasion. They were truly enjoyed by all. She was so easy going and never had a complaint about anyone; she was a true friend, sister, and Aunt. One of her greatest loves was of kittens and cats. Her two tiger cats, Lucy and Linus brought such joy to her. Right up to her last day she would focus on her cat calender and smile.
A special thank you to all the caregivers and staff of Belle Reve. It was her final home for 3 1/2 years. She was cherished by not only the staff but the other residents. She loved going to all the activities and was always ready to help decorate for all the holidays and enjoyed the entertainment and the church services and hymn sings. Also of course, bingo! She knew everyone there by their name and they all became a part of her extended family.
Thank you also to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice. They have been there not only for Jean, but for the support of our family. They provided tender, loving care and spiritual care to Jean.
Lastly. thank you to Father David Carlson for his love of Jean and for bringing her peace and comfort in her final days.

Ambrose "Frank" Bannon, age 82 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Milford Senior Care, Milford, PA. He was born on June 25, 1931 in Carbondale, PA, the son of the late Ambrose and Miriam Ryan Bannon. Frank was a retired Laboratory Technician, for Schering Plough in Lafayette, NJ. He was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, in Matamoras, PA, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 471, Port Jervis and a member of the Fourth Degree, Msgr. Sexton Assembly 760, Port Jervis. He was also a member of the V.F.W Post in Honesdale, PA., a member of the American Legion in Branchville, NJ, and a member of the Westfall Fire Dept, Westfall Twshp, PA. Frank married Doris J. West Bannon, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Dona MacDonald of Matamoras, his three sons, Dennis J. Bannon of Honesdale, PA, Daniel Bannon of Branchville, NJ, David Bannon and his wife Laurie of Andover, NJ, his brother, Edward Bannon of Carbondale, PA., his sister, Rosemary McCann of Hackettstown, NJ, 12 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
