JUNE R. BRUSH, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
June R. Brush, age 87, of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, Penna. She was born on April 18, 1926 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Charles J. and Mae V. DeWitt Rappold. June was a retired bank Teller for Mellon Bank in Matamoras. Following her retirement she continued to work as a receptionist at the Pike County Administration Bldg., in Milford for ten years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, , a member of the United Methodist Woman and a member of the Tabitha Circle of the Church. June married Robert R. Brush, Jr., who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Susan Piper of Matamoras, and Patricia Mann of Bushkill, Pa., her sister Phyllis Hamilton, 5 grandchildren, Amiee, Julie Anne, Jennifer, Vanessa and Timothy, 6 great grandchildren, Robert, Reagan, Rhapsody, Kahlan, Griffin, and Alastair and several nieces and nephews. Robert C. Wolff, Jr., "Wolffy", age 56 of Barryville, NY passed away, Monday June 24, 2013 at Nyack Hospital, Nyack, NY. He was born on August 6, 1956 in Barryville, NY, the son of the late Robert C. Wolff, Sr., and Yolanda Foscolo Wolff. Bob worked as a compounder for Kolmar Labs, Inc., at Port Jervis, NY. He is survived by his son, Robert C. DOREEN L. QUICK, MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA
Doreen L. Quick, age 51 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, Penna. She was born on November 12, 1961 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Edgar "Mickey" and Beverly Ramsey Quick. Doreen worked as a cashier for Jamesway Dept. Store in Montague, NJ and later for Walt Mart in Westfall Twshp, Pa. Doreen was a member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras. She is survived by her brother Steven Quick and his wife Kelly of Matamoras, her nephews, Michael and Colin Quick, her aunt, Kosh Ramsey and her uncle, Roger Ramsey. She was pre-deceased by her Paternal grandparents, David and Alice Quick and her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Beatrice Baumann, and her cousin Roger Ramsey. Robert Banho, age 86 of Milford, Pennsylvania passed away Wed. June 12, 2013 at the Milford Senior Care Facility, Milford, Penna. He was born on October 27, 1926 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Charles and Helen O'Rourke Wegner. Robert proudly served our country during WW II with the U.S. Navy. He was a retired aeronautics salesman for Varig Airlines in New York. He is survived by his son Brian R. Banho and his wife Jean of Mt. Kisco, NY, his daughter Carol Weiss and her husband Robert of the Bronx, NY, his step daughter Lynn and 2 stepsons, Terry and Donald, and his grandson Matthew. Caroline R. Pettit, age 52 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, June 22, at the Orange Regional Med. Ctr., Middletown, NY. She was born on March 11, 1961 in Port Jervis, the daughter of Edgar "Pete" Petttit and the late Inge Farniok Pettit. Caroline worked as a Bank Manager for Citizens in Port Jervis. She graduated form Delaware Valley High School as salutatorian. She continued her education at Scranton University graduating with her BA in Business. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, in Matamoras. Caroline is survived by her father Edgar "Pete" Pettit at home and several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was born on August 26, 1950 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Frederick and Charlotte Treible Craig. Keith proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the U.S. Marines. He is survived by his former wife Merlinda Cummings Craig of Port Jervis, 3 sons, Eric Craig and his wife Melanie of Chester, New Hampshire, Blair Craig of Port Jervis, and Adam Craig and his wife Laura of JBER, US. BETTY M. FLEMING, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Betty M. Fleming, age 78 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Susan in Huguenot, NY. She was born on June 19, 1934 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred Cox Holly. Betty was a retired assembler for Kolmar Labs, Inc., Port Jervis. She attended the First Baptist Church in Port Jervis.
Betty married Leo A. Fleming, who predeceased her on April 7, 2001. She is survived by her three daughters: Linda Hillenbrand and her husband, James of Syracuse, NY, Patricia Livingston and her husband, Denis of Port Jervis, and Susan Messenger of Huguenot; five grandchildren: Julie Moss, Andrew Hillenbrand, Ryan Livingston, Samantha King and Matthew Messenger; two step grandchildren: Ashley Sheare and Tyler Morgan; three great grandchildren: Trevor, Lukas and Steven; two nieces: Jackie and Mary. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, James Morgan and her brother-in-law, John "Jack" Fleming. Funeral services will be private on Wednesday, June 12. James F. Glynn age 81 of Geneseo, NY and formerly of Port Jervis, NY, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. He was born in Hornell, NY on January 15, 1932, the son of the late Mortimer and Marie Taylor Glynn. H proudly served our country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Livonia, NY and a member of the Knights of Columbus Councils in Port Jervis and Willsboro,NY. Jim retired from Conrail RR as an engineer in 1996. He married Barbara Kalin Glynn, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Glynn Polanis and her husband Tom of Port Jervis and his son Jay Glynn of Rhinebeck, NY, his grandchildren, Andrew and Candace Sarro, Liam Glynn, Kayley and Philip Brezney, his great grandson Gavin Greening, his brother M. Eugene Glynn of Tequesta, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Patricia Lemon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Frederick C. Felter, age 82 of Port Jervis, NY passed away, Monday, June 17, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1931 in Sparrowbush, NY, the son of the late Frank and Gertrude Quick Felter. Fred retired from Gillinder Brothers Glass Co., in Port Jervis after many years of service. He was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Port Jervis. He married Betty J. Woodruff Felter , who survives at home. He is also survived by his 2 sons, George Felter of Jacksonville, Florida and Clyde Felter and his wife Lisa of Port Jervis, his daughter Kathryn Felter of Middletown, his 3 brothers, Donald Felter and his wife Dorothy of Sparrowbush,, Harry Felter of Sparrowbush and Lester Felter of Port Jervis , his 3 grandchildren Corey, Gregory and Emily Felter, and several nieces and nephews. Eugene E. Frisbie age 67 of Shohola, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his home. He was born in Honesdale, Penna., on September 3, 1945, the son of the late Cecil and Marion Walsh Frisbie. Eugene proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Eldred United Methodist Church, a member of the Shohola Creek Rod & Gun Club and a member of the N.R.A.. He worked as a self-employed carpenter. Eugene married Kathleen Hulse Frisbie, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Erin Ruvolis and her husband Lance of Yulan, his sister, Beverly Swezy and her husband Charles of Shohola, Pa., and 1 nephew. HAROLD "MIKE" MYERS, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Harold "Mike" Myers, age 77 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was born on May 5, 1936 in Newton, New Jersey, the son of the late Harold R. and Mary Litts Myers George. Mike worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a former member of the Excelsior Engine Co. Hose 5, Port Jervis Fire Dept. A family statement read, " His unpretentious lifestyle and basic nature made him so genuine in character. He was so very proud of his 3 sons, he lived for his family and adored his grandchildren. We are thankful for his love, but know he is going to be reunited with the love of his life, Eleanor." The Myers family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Perry and his staff at the Cyrstal Run Health Care System in Middletown, for their compassionate and excellent care. Mike married Eleanor "Ellie" Tidd Myers on June 29, 1968. She pre-deceased him on December 17, 2004. He is survived by his 3 sons, Michael Myers, James Myers and his wife Tammy and Jason Myers all of Port Jervis. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Melena, Gabrielle, Olivia and Reagan, his 2 sisters, Jane Zenna and Patricia George both of Kenvil, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews. JOHN P. "BUD", "POPPY", SWEENEY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
John P. Sweeney "Bud"(and affectionately referred to as “ Poppy” by his family and friends) of Port Jervis, New York, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center, with his loving family by his side. He was 97.
John was born April 10, 1916 in Harriman, NY, the son of the late Frank and Mary Lewis Sweeney. He was married for 55 years to his beloved wife, Dorothy Bott Sweeney, who predeceased him in 2005.
He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) for several years and later proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On discharge from the Army, he began his 43 year career on the Erie Railroad.
John was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Jervis for 95 years. He was also a life member of the Roosa-Fleming VFW Post 161.
John was an avid hunter, fisherman, reader, and enthusiastic cheerleader for his family’s activities.
He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. He touched the lives of all his family and friends. His love will remain with us always. His loving smile, kindness and strength will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Anne Earley and husband Thomas of Port Jervis, son Joseph Sweeney and wife Karen of Matamoras, PA, and daughter Patricia (Tee) Velasco and companion, Howie Glantz, of Broadalbin, New York. John is also survived by his grandchildren Colleen Cyrek and husband Adam, Matthew Earley, Christine Earley, John Sweeney and wife Rachel, Brian Sweeney, David Sweeney, Heather Roach, Scott Velasco and wife Kyndri. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Kory Roach and Kynzi Velasco.
John is also survived by his brother William Sweeney and wife Betty, sisters in law Emogene Sweeney and Millie Bott and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Morgan, Jim, Lee and sisters Agnes Swingle and Margaret Schleer.
Friends and family may call from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Tuesday, June 4 at the Knight Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St. Port Jervis, New York. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Jervis, NY. Fr. George LaGrutta will be the celebrant.

ALFRED PETER HOOVER, SR., SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK
Alfred Peter Hoover Sr., age 72, formerly of Sparrowbush, NY entered into rest April 2, 2013 at home in New Port Richey, Florida.
He was born in Sparrowbush, New York April 10, 1940. The son of late Evelyn K. Hicks.
He was a life long carpenter in NY, NJ and Florida. He retired from Hoover's Property Care and Maintenance owned and operated by himself and his son Alfred P. Hoover Jr.
He was an avid hunter, loved to go fishing, and play horseshoes and darts. He was co-founder and belonged to Smokey Ridge Hunting Club for more than 50 years. He also belonged to Beaver Brook Rod and Gun Club in Yulan, and Muller's Family Camp in Chenago County.
He was devoted to and loved his family and friends, and was willing to give a helping hand whenever needed. He lived his life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Hoover, one sister Starlene Morgan of Sparrowbush, a daughter Tammy Dain-McGavin and partner Thomas L. Brink Sr. of Sparrowbush, a son Alfred P. Hoover Jr. of Oldsmar, Florida, a son M. David Leeds and his wife Molly of Brooklyn, a son Phillip Leeds and his wife Marcella of NYC, a daughter-in-law Tammy Hoover of Trinity, Florida, a son-in-law Lawrence W. Dain Jr. of Sparrowbush; nine grandchildren: Rebecca Dain and her fiance' Chris Baumgardner of Port Jervis, Brad Dain and his wife Danielle of Greeley, Pennslyvania, Christopher and Tyler Hoover of Trinity, Florida, Ryan McGavin of Sparrowbush, Shaun and Jennifer McGavin of Toronto, Canada, Frederick (Freddie) Leeds of Brooklyn, and Theodore (Teddy) Leeds of NYC; four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Eli Baumgardner of Port Jervis, Kamryn and Caden Dain of Greeley, Pennslyvania; an aunt Thelma Peer of N. Hudson, NY, a brother-in-law Harry Muller of Sparrowbush, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Mary and Walter Morgan, and his sister Arlene Muller.
A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. June 22, at the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church, 44 Main Street, Sparrowbush, NY with Pastor Amy Garrett officiating, burial at Sparrowbush Pine Hill Cemetery, followed by family and friends gathering at Red Rock Hunting Club on Peenpack Trail in Sparrowbush.
