      JOSEPH W. KRAYCER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Joseph W. Kraycer, age 75 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his home.  He was born on August 25, 1937 in Olyphant, Penna., the son of the late Joseph and  Helen Swietezek Kraycer.  Joe was a retired truck driver for Rockland-Catskill Distributors at Spring Valley, New York.  He dedicated himself to the Port Jervis Little League, as a coach, treasurer, board member, score keeper, and pitch counter.  In his recognition, The Port Jervis Little League  named the "Old Joe Kraycer T-Ball Field in his honor.   Joe married Evaline Quick Kraycer, who pre-deceased him.  He is survived by his 2 sons, Joseph E. Kraycer and James Kraycer, both at home, 2 brothers, Edward Kraycer and his wife Susan  and Michael Kraycer  and his wife Gail all of Liberty, NY, his sister, Betty Narvid of Eynon, Pa., his granddaughter, Katarina Kraycer and his great granddaughter, Evalina Rose Kraycer and several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his  2 sisters, Anna Payne and Bernice Danzer.  Friends may call Thursday,  May 2, from 12:30 pm - 1:30 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.  Funeral services will be held at 1:30 at the funeral home with Rev. Rost officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.       JAY T. VARY, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Jay T. Vary, age 56 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at  the Westchester Medical Ctr., Valhalla, NY.  He was born on May 27. 1956 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Eugene Vary and Hilda Valdez Vary, who survives.  Jay worked as a carpenter for Trade Source, Inc. in Mamaroneck, NY.  He is survived by his wife at home, Lorraine Brocington, his mother, Hilda Vary of Warminster, Pa., his brother, Robert Vary and his wife JoAnne of Canadensis, Pennsylvania, his sister, JoAnne DuBay of Teaneck, New Jersey, 3 nephews and 1 niece.  Jay was pre-deceased by his brother, Gene Vary.  Services were private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements were by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E.       HARRISON "HARRY" LANE, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK AND POLAND, MAINE
		
          Harrison "Harry" M. Lane, of Port Jervis, NY and Poland, Maine, died April 18, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, New York. He was 70.
He was born in Shin Hollow, Deerpark, NY, July 10, 1942, a son of the late Frederick James and Sarah Esther Stothers Lane.
He divided his time between Poland, Maine and the Port Jervis area, following the trades of truck driveing . 
He is survived by 10 stepchildren, several step-grandchildren, all of Maine; 2 brothers, Edward "Jake" Lane and his wife Sharon and Donald Lane and his wife Ellen all of Shin Hollow, 2 sisters, Elizabeth Campbell of Matamoras, PA and Barbara Duke and her husband Steve of Carbondale, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Ralph Frederick  Lane and his four nephews, Jeffrey , Douglas and Joseph Lane and Keith Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY, Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 11:00 am.       LEONA MAE ASHWORTH, WESTBROOKVILLE, NEW YORK
		
          Leona Mae (Schlund) Ashworth passed away peacefully on April 15, 2013, following a long illness.  She was born on August 30, 1920 in Middletown, NY to John Schlund and Grace DeGroat Schlund.  She was predeceased by her husband of  62 years, William James Ashworth, who passed away in 2005.
She is survived by twin daughters Marlene Roe and her husband Robert, and Darlene Hogencamp Rassiga and Jake, of Westbrookville; her beloved 3 grandsons, William Attreed of Westbrookville, Brian Hogencamp and his wife  Dr. ToniAnn of Walpole, MA, and Dean Hogencamp and his wife Jennifer of Mansfield, MA,  4 great-grandchildren, Jacoby, Cole, Olivia, and William Hogencamp, and devoted nephew Edwin Culver and his wife Agnes of Port Jervis.  She is also survived by an extended family of relatives and a community of great friends.  She was predeceased by her brother, Lester Culver Sr., and sisters Mabel Kimball and Olive Conklin.
Leona worked as a bookkeeper for GLF (Agway) in Middletown for many years.  She then joined her family business as bookkeeper for Culver Motors in Port Jervis until her retirement.  Leona was a lifetime member of the Westbrookville United Methodist Church, where she was choir director and church organist for 70 years.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Westbrookville Fire Dept., and O.E.S. #33, River Valley Chapter, in Port Jervis.
Her daughters would like to express their most sincere thanks and appreciation to all friends and family members who visited with Mom throughout her illness and helped brighten each day. Sincere gratitude  to the nurses, aids, and staff at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Leona and her family.        Interment will take place at Westbrookville Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20,  at 3 PM at the Westbrookville United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made in Leona’s memory to the Westbrookville United Methodist Church, Box 242, Westbrookville, NY 12785.

      HERBERT LUBER, GLEN SPEY, NEW YORK
		
          Herbert Luber age 92 of Glen Spey, NY passed away, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis.  He was born in Germany on November 17, 1920, the son of the late Peter and Rosa Sprang Luber.  Herbert was a retired Superintendant Engineer for  Rudin Management in New York City, NY.  He was a member of the National Association of Power Engineers and a member of the Black Forest Colony in Glen Spey.  He served with the German Navy during WW II.  Herbert married Margrit Traum Luber who survives at home.  He is also survived by his daughter Nancy Luber at home, his brother Benno Luber and his wife Gerlinde of Hackensack, NJ and several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his son Steven B. Luber and his brother, Carl Luber.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April  12, at 1 PM at the Black Forest Cemetery in Glen Spey.   Rev. Tom Jones will officiate.       JODIELYNN KUHN, LACKAWAXEN, PENNSYLVANIA
		
          Jodielynn Kuhn age 55 of Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Port Jervis, NY.  She was born on  July 5, 1957 in Callicoon New York , the daughter of the late  Gottlieb and  Elinor Kuhn.  Jodielynn was a professional tutor for the East Stroudsburg University in E. Stroudsburg, Pa.. She is survived by her brother, Loni Kuhn  of Beach Lake, Pa., 2 sisters, Barbara June Parker and her husband  Billy Jack of South Carolina and Wanda Kasmedo of Hopatcong, NJ. Her nephews, Ryan and his wife Molly of Matamoras, Pa, Adam and Ethan Kuhn of Beach Lake,  and her niece Sarah Kuhn of Matamoras,  her great nephew Kiernan Kuhn  of Matamoras. She is also survived by her long  companion, Bruce Selneck  of Port Jervis.  Jodielynn was pre-deceased by her brother,  Noel Kuhn. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Callicoon, NY, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the German-American Society.  Services were private at the convenience of the family.       KATHRYN M. TURNER, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK, FORMERLY OF NEW PALTZ, NEW YORK
		
          Kathryn M. Turner, age 79 of Sparrowbush, NY and formerly a long time resident of New Paltz, NY passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis, NY.  She was born on November 13, 1933 at Campbell Hall, NY, the daughter of the late  Michael and  Mary Kalamucki.  Kathryn was a retired vice-president of the savings department of Inter County Bank, at New Paltz, NY.  She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo R. C. Church in Gardiner, NY.  Kathryn married Leslie Turner, who survives at home.  She is also survived by her son Wayne Turner and her daughter, JoAnn Quigley, 3 grandchildren, Sean, Jeremy and Crystal and several nieces and  nephews.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be be made in Kathryn's name to a charity of a donor's choice.       TRUDY A. DERSE, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, FORMERLY OF MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA

DIED: January 2, 2013
LOCATION: Georgetown, Texas
 
Trudy A. Derse, of Georgetown, Texas, has been called home by our Heavenly Father on January 2, 2013, at the age of 77. She was born to John and Albertina (Neidhardt) Sattler in New York City on August 10, 1935. On June 19, 1955 Trudy Sattler became the bride of Robert E. Derse in Port Jervis, New York. They lived in southern New Jersey until 1978 when they moved to Milford, Pa. They then retired to Georgetown, Texas in 2003.
Anyone who ever met Trudy appreciated her sense of humor and zest for life. Those whose lives she touched knew her as a woman of faith and family. Her daily life demonstrated her generosity, integrity and strong work ethic. 
Trudy held a variety of volunteer and professional positions in her life. She was instrumental in the success of the family owned business, Wilder Manufacturing Company, in Port Jervis, NY. One of her greatest joys was being the owner of Itch to Stitch, a retail needle arts shop in Milford. Because of her strong commitment to community and service she volunteered on numerous boards and committees throughout her life, including the Ingeborg A. Biondo Trust, Community Concerts of N.J., United Methodist Women, and the Music Committee at the Methodist Church in Milford. She was past president of Business and Professional Women's Club and was the Chairman of the Burlington County Girl Scout Cookie Campaign. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed using her gift as an active member of Methodist Church Choirs for most of her adult life. Along with raising her two children, Trudy and Bob hosted exchange students from all over the world throughout the years.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert E. Derse, her daughter Susan Mink and her husband Lee of  Leesburg, Va., her son, David Derse and his wife Vicki of  Yorba Linda, Calif., 5 grandchildren  1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ingeborg A Biondo.

          Jaroslav Machac, age 84  of Port Jervis, NY passed away, Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Milford Senior Care Health & Rehabilitation Facility, Milford, Pa.
