Myrtle M. Matthews age 92, of Port Jervis, NY passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. She was born on October 13, 1919 in Huguenot, NY the daughter of the late Peter and Lillian Conklin. Myrtle married George Matthews, who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her 2 sons, Peter and James Matthews both of Port Jervis, her sister Katherine Innella of Port Jervis and several nieces and nephews. Myrtle was pre-deceased by her 2 sons, George and Gerald Matthews, 3 brothers, Harold, Earl and Clifford Conklin and 3 sisters, Ada Dewey, Clara LaChance and Mildred Taylor. JUNE A. LIVINGSTON, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
June A. Livingston, age 80, of Port Jervis, NY, beloved wife, entered into God's hands on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis. She was born on June 20, 1931 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Emery and Beatrice Gilbert Price. June was a retired Cafeteria Aide for the Port Jervis School System. She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Madonna #114, Port Jervis and a Life Member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Tri-State Naval Post #7241, and a member of the National and Port Jervis A.A.R.P. She was a member of the Port Jervis Forty-Niners and a Den Leader's Coach for 39 years with the Port Jervis Cub Scouts. June married Vincent E. Livingston, Sr., on December 4, 1949, who survives at home. She is also survived by her 3 sons, Vincent Livingston, Jr. and his wife Rose Anne of Tyler Hill, Penna., David Livingston of Port Jervis, and Denis Livingston and his wife Patricia of Port Jervis, 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Jeremy, Josh, Joe,Rachel, David, Jr., and Michelle, 6 great grandchildren, her sister Shirley Reiff of Port Jervis and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Emery Price. Friends may call Sunday January 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Patricia F. Roeckell age 70, of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday January 21, 2012 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. She was born on May 26, 1941 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond T. and Rosemary O'Dwyer Murray. Patricia was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church and a Retired Teacher for Trinity Catholic School at St. Mary's. She was also retired former owner of Kids Kampus Pre-School in Matamoras, Penna. She was a member of the American Cancer Society, a member of Boys Town, USA and the MSAA( Multiple Sclerosis Assoc.)
Patricia married Nicholas C. Roeckell, who survives at home. She is also survived by her 2 daughters, Patricia Snyder of Ellenville, NY, and Maryrose Roeckell and her fiancé, Jason Donadio of Glen Spey, NY, her son, Nicholas Roeckell and his wife Aracely of Mt. Kisco, NY, 2 sisters, Rosemary Smith and Teresa Murray both of Port Jervis, 2 brothers, Raymond Murray of Upper Montclair, NJ and Walter Murray of E. Sandwich, Mass; 2 grandchildren Elizabeth and Nicole and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother John Murray. A celebration of her life was held Tuesday evening, January 24th. JOHN EDWARD ABER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK AND MALONE, NEW YORK
John Edward Aber age 64 of Port Jervis, NY and Malone, NY passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Castle Point Veterans Hospital, Wappingers, NY, after a long illness. He was born on July 23, 1947 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Leon Aber, Sr. and Beatrice M. Parker Aber. John proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the U.S. Navy and was a life member of the Tri-State Naval Post #7241, Port Jervis. John was a graduate of Port Jervis High School in 1965 and continued his education at Siena College in Colonie, NY, earning his BA in history. He then entered Oklahoma City University of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctor Law Degree and then admitted to the New York State Bar Association. In his early career of law John worked as an assistant to the New York State Attorney General in Albany and was an attorney for the New York State Lottery Commission. He then opened his Law Office in Malone, NY where he practiced for many years. John was very active in his community of Malone, he loved to travel, he enjoyed the art of gambling, watching baseball and was an avid bowler. He was extremely well read and especially enjoyed reading about World Politics and History. John is survived by his 3 daughters, Robin Aber of Portland, Oregon, Jocylyn Aber of Cohoes, NY and Allison Aber of Albany, NY, his grandson, John of Cohoes, 3 brothers, Leon, Donald and William Aber all of Port Jervis and his sister Alice Aber of Clinton, Il, several cousins and close friends. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Thursday January 26, 2012 at 2 PM at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Rev. James Brosius will officiate. George J. Hensz age 91, of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Milford Senior Care, Milford, Penna. He was born on June 10, 1920 in Narrowsburg, New York , the son of the late John and Julitta Flood Hensz. George proudly served our country with the U.S. Army during WW II. He was the proprietor of Hensz's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Port Jervis for many years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, Pa.and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #471, Port Jervis. George married Mary Balch Hensz who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter Valorie Zachry and her husband John of Matamoras, Pa., his grandson Steven Hess of Port Jervis, his sister Theresa Tebo of Narrowsburg, NY his sister-in-law Noel Balch of Matamoras and several nieces and nephews. George was pre-deceased by 3 sisters, Ruby Kemble, Florence Roberts and Irene McCooey, and 3 pre-deceased by 3 brothers, John, Arthur and Louis Hensz. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday January 23 at 11 am at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, Penna. Rev. August Ricciardi will be the celebrant. MARIANNE H. MASON, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK
Marianne H. Mason age 82 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Indian River Nursing Home, Granville, NY after a long heroic struggle with severe health issues. Marianne was loved by staff and residents alike because of the pleasant and caring outlook on life that she had, even thru all she endured She will be greatly missed.
Marianne was born on September 15, 1929 in Kingston, New York the daughter of the late Clarkson Steven and Anna (Mack) Holley.
Marianne was a graduate of Port Jervis High School. She lived in Port Jervis until she met and later married her husband Douglas on September 30, 1951. For more than 50 years they resided in Sparrowbush, NY in a home they built together.
Marianne was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker and very talented seamstress, knitter, craftsperson and gardener. She and Douglas loved to travel, and were lucky to have had many good years to enjoy doing so. They especially enjoyed Myrtle Beach, SC where they spent a lot of time. Marianne also had a deep appreciation of nature and loved all creature great and small, many of which were her faithful pets over the years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Douglas. She is survived by her 3 daughters Holly Townsend and her husband Jody of East Arlington, Vermont, Sharon Mason Judge and her husband Roger of Peru Vermont., and Michele Harrington and her husband Keith of Pawlet, VT. She was also blessed with her grandchildren: Leon Townsend, Jared Masker and great granddaughters Ella, Syke Colon Masker and Swan Azure Connely. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Buda of Lady Lake, Florida.
A memorial service will be held in the spring in Sparrowbush, NY. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparowbush. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society, 202 Route 209 Port Jervis, NY 12771

Thomas M. Brady age 64 of Cuddebackville, NY passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Ctr., Middletown, NY. Tom was born on October 18, 1947 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Thomas F. and Edna Wolin Brady. He proudly served our country with the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a retired Supervisor in the Mail Room of the Times Herald Record, Middletown. He married Denise DeGroat Brady, who survives at home. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Richard DeGroat and his wife Patricia of Montgomery, NY and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. He proudly served our country with the U.S. Army during WW II and was a member of the Eldred American Legion. Susan D. Aumick, 53, of Baltimore, MD, passed away suddenly on January 3, 2012 in Baltimore, MD. She was born in Port Jervis, New York., the loving daughter of the late Robert and Marie Lowery Aumick; dear sister of Marianne Sierra, Jane Aumick, Joan Coulter and Daniel Aumick. Also survived by nieces, nephews and beloved dog Yogi. Susan graduated from The Sisters of Charity School of Nursing, Buffalo, New York and continued her education at The College of Notre Dame where she earned her BSN degree upon graduation. Susan is a registered nurse at John Hopkins University Hospital since 1979. She is presently enrolled at The John Hopkins University Nurse Pratictioner Program. She is a member St. Jude's Shrine RC Church in Baltimore, MD.

Frederick "Fred" Drew, age 85 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday January 4, 2012 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was born on May 28, 1926 in Franklin, New Jersey, the son of the late James R. Drew and Thelma Hardy Drew. Fred was a retired Supervisor in the shipping Dept. for C& D Battery Inc, at Huguenot, NY. He proudly served our country with the U. S. Navy during WW II. He was a member and Trustee of the Drew United Methodist Church, Port Jervis, an Honorary Member of the Port Jervis Fire Dept., and a member of the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645, B.P.O.E.. Fred will long be remembered as the Bartender for Len & Jo's Restaurant in Port Jervis. He married Dorothy Allen Drew, who pre-deceased him. He then married Alice Aschenbrenner Drew, who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Gene Drew of Port Jervis, his brother Richard F. Drew and his wife Barbara of Port Jervis, 5 grandchildren, J.R. She was born on February 10, 1917 in Matamoras, Penna., the daughter of the late George and Ella Boyce Schneider. Gertrude retired form the Matamoras Branch of Security Bank & Trust Co, after many years of service. Gertrude was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras and and Past Treasurer for 30 years for the United Methodist Women of the Church. Gertrude married William J. Zwirz, who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mary Ann Brigham, Doris Smith, Joyce Campbell, Joe Denham, Buddy Rosensteel, Bill Schneider & Jim Pollard, great nieces and nephews: Bob Long, Brian Long, Phil Long, Michael John, Dan J. Barbara A. Hallock age 70 of Highland Lake, NY passed away Thursday December 29, 2011 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Penna. Barbara was born on October 13, 1941 in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas T. and Mary Freeman Van Etten. She was a retired Food Service Mgr. for the Eldred Central School Dietary Dept. Barbara was a member of St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Yulan, a CCD Teacher for St. Anthony's Church, and a member of the Parish Council. She was a former Certified EMT for the Sylvan-Liebla American Legion Vol Ambulance Corps in Eldred and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Highland Lake F.D.. Barbara strongly supported the Sullivan County Pregnancy Ctr. in Liberty, NY. Barbara married Charles H. Hallock, Sr., who pre-deceased her in November of 2008. She is survived by her 4 sons,Charles Hallock, Jr. and his wife Betty of Hillside, NY, Robert Hallock, Sr and his wife Angie, Tim Hallock, Sr. and his wife Linda, Scott Hallock and his wife June, all of Highland Lake, NY.
