MARIE M. CASE, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Marie M. Case age 72 of Port Jervis, NY and formerly long time resident of Cuddebackville, NY, passed away Friday January 28, 2011 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was born on December 17, 1938 in Walton, New York, the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice Joy McCullagh. Marie married Harold "Jake" Case, who pre-deceased her, June 8, 1998. She attended the Cuddebackville Reformed Church in Cuddebackville. A family statement read, " Mom loved spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, with whom she lived, her grandchildren and her great grand daughter. Her best friend was her daughter and heart was golden, always giving and doing for her family."
Marie is survived by her daughter, Tammy Olenick and her husband Anthony of Port Jervis, her son Charles Case of the State of Florida, her 3 grandchildren, Kaleigh, Shane and Hunter Olenick and her great grand daughter Kyla Olenick, her sister-in-law Billie Mae Case of Cuddebackville,several nephews and nieces including Jody Case Kennedy, Marilyn Lounsbury, Lorrie Case Kramer, Belinda Kowal, and her special pets, "Lacey" and "Fluffy". She was pre-deceased by several sisters and brothers. Graveside services will be held Monday January 31, 2011 at 11am at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY. Rev. Wayne Varga will officiate. PAUL A. CAMPALA, JR., WESTBROOKVILLE, NEW YORK
Paul A. Campala, Jr., age 50, of Westbrookville, NY passed away Tuesday January 25, at the Orange Regional Medical Ctr., Horton Campus, Middletown, NY. He was born on November 16, 1960 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the son of the late Paul A. and Mary Campala. Paul was a retired Correctional Officer for the Orange County Jail in Goshen, NY. He proudly served our country with the US Army from 1979 - 1982. He married Patricia Miller Campala, who survives at home. He is also survived by his step-son, Lary R. WALTER TITOR, YULAN, NEW YORK
Walter Titor, age 83 of Yulan, New York passed away Saturday January 15, 2011 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He was born on December 18, 1927 in Queens, New York, the son of the late Samuel and Martha Gardner Titor. He married Rose Marie Mei Titor, who survives at home. Walter proudly served our country during WW II with the United States Navy. He was a retired Projectionist with Redstone Theaters, Inc, in New York City, New York. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, David Samuel Titor and his wife Josephine Sperrazza of Long Island, his sister, Olga Damiano, 2 grandchildren, David Michael Titor and Angelica Rose Titor, several nephews and nieces including Melinda Sawitsky. Edward J. Palmer age 82 of Sparrowbush, NY passed away on Saturday January 15, 2011 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on February 3, 1928 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of the late Russell and Mary Malzahn Palmer. Edward was a retired Lineman for Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc., in Port Jervis. He attended St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, NY and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, including Russell Palmer of Sparrowbush, NY. He was pre-deceased by his fiancé, Kitty Cherry.

JAMES "CHIP" KALIN, MILFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
James "Chip" Kalin age 50 of Milford, Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday January 12, 2011 at Dingman Township, Pennsylvania. He was born on February 5, 1960 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Eugene and Faith Neuber Kalin. Chip owned and operated Mr. Magoo's Bargain Base in Honesdale, Penna. with his fiance Cherryl Hessling. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved camping, above all spending time with his children and family was most important. He is survived by his proud parents, Gene and Faith Kalin of The Villages, Florida, 3 daughters, Jamie Kalin of Bradenton, Florida, Jessica Kalin of Edison, New Jersey, and Jenna Kalin at home, and his son Joshua Kalin at home. His loving brothers, Darryl Kalin and his companion, Luz Otero of Hawley, Penna., and Todd Kalin of Milford, Pa. His fiancé Cherryl Hessling at home. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Jill and Tom Vicchiariello and Hal and Sue Kalin, his cousins, Paige Fean, Jason and Matt Vicchiariello.

Kenneth W. Egan, age 88 of Port Jervis, NY passed away, Tuesday Janaury 11, 2011 at Castle Point Veterans Hospital, Wappingers, NY. He was born on June 199, 1922 in Newburgh, NY, the son of the late Frances Mitchell. Kenneth was a retired Postman for the U.S. Postal System in Kingston, New York. He proudly served our country with the US Army during WW II. He is a member of the D.A.V. in Kingston and the V.F.W. Post of Kingston. He married Patricia Flanagan Egan, who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Frank E. Milczarzyk and his wife Linda of Spring Hill, Florida, his step-son Lenny Copp, 6 grandchildren, Diane, MaryAnn, Cheryl, Ann Marie, Katherine, and Bethany, 3 great grand children, Melanie, Alexis, and Anthony, his sister, Eleanor Haggerty of West Virginia, and 2 nieces, Thora and Megan. ALMA D. HOFFMAN, TOWN OF GREENVILLE, NEW YORK
Alma D. Hoffman age 96, of the Town of Greenville, New Yok, passed away Wednesday January 12, 2011 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis, NY. She was born on October 8, 1914 in the Town of Greenville, the daughter of the late James and Mabel Flynn DeBevoise. Alma married Levi Hoffman, who pre-deceased her in 2009. Together, Levi and Alma owned and operated their own dairy farm in the Town of Greenville. Alma was also a retired cafeteria worker for the Minisink School District. She was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church.
Alma is survived by her 2 sons, David L. Hoffman and his wife Judy of the Town of Greenville, and Larry A. Hoffman and his wife Diane of Phoenix, Arizona, 2 daughters, Linda A. Gunn and her husband Frederick of the Town of Greenville, and LuAnn Brundage and her companion Ron Wagner of Stroudsburg, PA.; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her 2 sisters, Florence Ferguson and Helen McDermott.

She was born on April 18, 1928 in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of the late John R. and Ethel Queen Skelton. Barbara was a retired Registered Nurse for the Passaic General Hospital, in Passaic, New Jersey. She married Kenneth A. Kertis who survives at home. She is also survived by her brother, John r. Eileen M. Bodine age 84 of Port Jervis, NY passed away , Monday January 10, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital, Newburgh, NY. She was born on June 1, 1926 in Huguenot, NY, the daughter of the late Forrest and Helen Decker Jenks. Eileen was retired from the housekeeping department of Eddy Farm Hotel in Sparrowbush, NY. She married Daniel E. Bodine who pre-deceased her. Eileen is survived by her 2 sons, David N. DeGraw and his wife Kim of Wallkill, NY and Charles Bodine and his wife Susan of Milton, NY, 2 daughters, Nancy Betterley of Port Jervis and Patricia Ann Phillips of Cuddebackville, NY, her brother Henry Jenks and his wife Maggie of Matamoras, PA, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her long time companion, Robert Johnsen.

NELSON E. HAMMOND, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Nelson E. Hammond age 87 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Sunday January 9, 2011 at Belle Reve Health & Rehabilitation Center, Milford, PA. He was born on June 21, 1923 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Richard E. and Bessie M. Robinson Hammond. He proudly served our country during WW II with the US Navy. He then joined the US Air Force Reserves and retired with the rank of Staff Sgt.. He was the retired Senior Accountant Clerk for the City of Port Jervis, and later retired as Assessor for Port Jervis after serving the city for 40 years. Nelson was a member, Deacon, Elder and former Treasurer of the Deerpark Reformed Church, Port Jervis, NY. He was a Member of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis, member of Roosa-Fleming V.F. W. Post #161, Port Jervis, the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks #645, B.P.O.E, and a member of the Orange County Assessor's Assoc.
Nelson maried Gladys Jean Hamilton Hammond who pre-deceased him. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Susan McCollum and her husband Raymond of Hawley, PA, Kim Allen and her husband William of Akron, S.C.; JoAnn Kirsch and her husband Ira of Denver, Colo; 2 sons, Frederick Hammond and his wife Sandy of Port Jervis, and Richard Hammond and his wife Coe of Sparrowbush, NY, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, Josephine Mosher and Ann McElroy and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his 2 brothers, George W. and Richard I. Hammond, 2 sisters, Neva Cuddeback and Eleanor Kent and his Mother-in-law, Gladys Hamilton.

PHYLLIS W. FOSTER, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
Phyllis W. Foster age 86 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Friday January 7, 2011 at her home. She was born on January 10, 1924 in Brushton, New York, the daughter of the late Maurice E. Wright and Thelma Turner Wright. Phyllis graduated from Brushton High School in 1941 and continued her education at the State University at Potsdam, NY, graduating in 1945 with her B.S. Degree in Education. She started teaching kindergarten in 1945 at the East Main Street School in Port Jervis and continued teaching until her retirement from the Sullivan Avenue School in 1979. Phyllis married Rev. Robert E. Foster on July 30, 1948 and served with him at the First Baptist Church, Port Jervis as a Sunday School Teacher and pianist from 1948 until 1985. Phyllis is an active member of the Milford Bible Church, Milford, PA. She was a member of the Executive Board of the Christian Education Committee of New York State, of Conservative Baptist Churches. She was also a member of the New York State Retired Teacher's Association.
In addition to her husband, Rev. Robert E. Foster, Phyllis is survived by her daughter Nancy F. Hoyer and her husband James of Keller, Texas, 4 grandchildren, Melissa Hoyer Sanders and her husband Rev. Keith Sanders of Keller, Texas and pastor of the First Baptist Church of Keller; Jonathan Hoyer and his wife Katie of Keller, Texas, Rebecca Hoyer Aho and her husband Brad of Keller, Texas, Steven Hoyer of Haltom, Texas. Her great grandchildren Emma Kate Sanders, Aubrey Sanders, Madison Hoyer and Callie Aho, her brother, Douglas Wright and his wife Jean of Pittsburg, Pa., her brother-in-law Keith Wilson of Burnt Hills, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son David R. Foster in July 1969 and her sister, Harriet W. Wilson.

George R. Klich age 80, of Port Jervis, NY passed away Monday January 3, 2011 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on September 29, 1930 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He proudly served our country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. George was a retired Production Supervisor for I.C.I. Chemical Plant in Bayonne, New Jersey. He married Janet Wileski Klich, who pre-deceased him. He is survived by his 4 sons, Gregory Klich and his wife Lisa of Port Jervis., David Klich and his wife Pat of Union Beach, New Jersey, Kevin Klich and Tony Klich both of Bayonne, NJ, 5 daughters, Susan Klich, Linda Serrano and her husband Ivan, Georgianna Frazier Cathy Squitieri and her husband Joseph all of Bayonne, NJ and Lisa Candito and her husband Richard of Brick, NJ, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother Theodore Klich and his wife Carmin of Bayonne, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Beatrice Carpenter age 82 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away Sunday January 2, 2011 at her home. She was born on June 10, 1928 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late George and Mary Donovitch Melnick. Beatrice celebrated 64 years of marriage to Eugene L. Carpenter, who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Marsha Waycie of Milford, Pa., her son Gregory Carpenter of Middletown, NY, 2 grandchildren Cameron Vogt and his wife Beth, and Mandy Ostrom and her husband Joseph, 5 great grandchildren Jack, Luke, and Emma Vogt, Jenna and Tanner Ostrom, her sister, Eva Cooper of New Haven, Conn. and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by 4 brothers, Alexander, Phillip, Abraham and Simon Melnick and 2 sisters, Fanny Haliczer and Lillian Elston.
Bea was a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El, Port Jervis, The Hadassah, The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County, the Del Choraliers of Port Jervis, and the Four Miss Notes of Port Jervis. In the earlier years of her life she was an avid Bowler, and she loved to travel with her husband . Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
