          Eugene Banach, age 56, late of Unionville, NY passed away Sunday April 27, at the Northeast Center for Special Care Facility, Kingston, NY.He was born October 12, 1951 at Deitz, Germany, the son of the late Walter and Genevieve Meyer Banach. He was owner of Eugene Banach and Sons Custom Carpentery, Unionville, NY. He was a veteran of The Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army. Eugene married Kathy S. Smith Banach.He is survived by his wife Kathy at home; two sons, Lucas and Tyler Banach both at home; eight brothers, John Banach, Bronic, Walter, Stefan, Lou and Ed Banach, Tom Vance and Jim Urchak; four sisters, Rose Navarra, Elizabeth Martin, Pauline Schurich and Brenda Koroscil; several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Wednesday, April 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.           Edward D. Quick, age 69, late of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Morristown General Hospital, Morristown, NJ.He was born in Port Jervis, NY on December 3, 1938, the son of the late William N. Quick and Lillian Edwards Quick.Edward was retired Brakeman/Conductor for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad in Port Jervis, NY. He was veteran of the Vietnam war serving with the U.S. Navy. He was member of the Drew United Methodist Church, Port Jervis, NY, The United Transportation Union, and Port Jervis Lodge of Masons #328 F. & A.M.After retiring from the railroad, Ed continued working with his wife, Linda helping with her crafts a Raspberry Patch.He is survived by his wife, Linda Walt Quick, at home; one son, Edward D. Quick, Jr. and his wife, Debra of Huguenot, NY; his daughter, Sheryl Quick of Montclair, NJ; four grandchildren: Darien, Alex, Edward III and Erik Quick. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Christina Quick; his former daughter-in-law, Laura Bennett; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, William and Robert Quick.A private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place at H.G. Foster, age 82, late of Port Jervis, NY, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2008 at Milford Senior Care, Westfall Twp., PA.She was born in Middletown, NY on October 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Edgar and Addy Lena Brown Holden. She married Alexander Foster, who predeceased her.Gladys was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse for St. Teresa's Nursing Home, Middletown, NY and a member of The First Presbyterian Church, Port Jervis, NY.Gladys is survived by her son, John Foster and his wife, Deborah of Crown Point, IN; three daughters: Janet Day and her husband, Frank of Sparrowbush, NY, Susan Foster and her companion, Denise Becker of Wilmington, DE, and Linda Morace and her husband, George of Daytona Beach, FL; three sisters: Helen Decker of Butler, NJ, Violet Hite of Otisville, NY, and Mildred Talmadge of Port Jervis, NY; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Wilson, age 73, late Port Jervis, NY, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Valley View Health & Rehabilitation Facility, Goshen, NY.He was born December 7, 1943 at Montague, NJ, the son of the late Kenneth and Marion Bailey Wilson Tarkett.           Evelyn I. Walter of Middletown, NY, formerly of Port Jervis, NY, entered into rest on Friday, April 18, 2008 at home. She was 93.The daughter of John G. Merkenschlager and Grace Magaw Merkenschlager, she was born March 27, 1915 in Port Jervis, NY. She was the widow of Martin Walter.Evelyn was a retired bookkeeper for D.C. Gordon Co. in Port Jervis, NY.Survivors include her son, John M. Walter of Middletown; three sisters: Beatrice Smith of Fort Pierce, FL, Shirley Carlton Warnshuis of Port Jervis, NY, and Ethel Osterhout of Montgomery, NY; granddaughter, Jenna M. Miller Winans.Ethel was the former owner of J & E Diner, Milford, PA. She was a member of the Deerpark Reformed Church in Port Jervis, the Milford Golden Age Club, and the National A.A.R.P.She is survived by her four daughters: Judith A. Mohn and her husband, William R. of Beach Lake, PA, Sally R. Hawley and her husband, Mark of Lookout, PA, Marlene K. Freehill and her husband, Judge Robert H. Freehill of Howells, NY, and Linda R.       ROBINA VICTORIA SUTHERLAND STARTUP, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Robina Victoria Sutherland Startup, age 86, late of Port Jervis, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.She was born in Port Jervis, NY on February 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Hugh and Anna E. Guinan Sutherland.She graduated from Port Jervis High School in 1940 with Honors. She married William George Startup on May 30, 1941, in the Deerpark Dutch Reformed Church in Port Jervis. Robina worked as a desk clerk and Food and Beverage Steward at the Hotel Minisink in Port Jervis.She traveled to San Diego CA in 1943 to join her husband who was stationed there with the U.S.M.C. She worked at the U.S. Naval Supply Depot as a clerk in stock upkeep. Robina returned to Port Jervis in 1945. After her husband's honorable discharge in 1946, they bought property in Cuddebackville, NY, and together they built their home.She enjoyed gardening, freezing and canning the produce, sewing, cooking, baking, developing new recipes, and refinishing antique furniture. She taught Sunday School at the Cuddebackville Reformed Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent for 12 years. In 1967, she took a part time job at the Cuddebackville Post Office. When the PostMaster retired in 1969 she was placed in charge and subsequently appointed PostMaster. Retiring in 1987, she and her husband sold their property in Cuddebackville and bought a home in Granville Summit, PA.She was predeceased by her husband, William George Startup. Survivors include her two sons, William H. Startup and his wife, Frances of Cincinnati, OH, David Startup of Saugerties, NY; four grandchildren: Cheryl, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Beverly; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert Startup, and two brothers, Wilfred Bruce Sutherland and Donald Wallace Sutherland.Private Services will take place at the convenience of the family.           Roger A. Howard, age 53, of Matamoras, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.He was born February 18, 1955 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Elizabeth Norton Bohannon and the late George Bohannon. He was married to Susan Culver Howard for twenty-three years, who survives at home.Roger was a Supervisor for the Department of Public Works, Borough of Matamoras, PA. He was a life member of the Matamoras Fire Dept., and affiliate member of the Drew United Methodist Church in Port Jervis, NY. He spent many happy hours with his fellow Coffee Crew at Chrissies Corner.A family statement reads: "Roger was a loving husband, father, brother and son."In addition to his wife, Susan and son, Roger Howard, at home, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Glass and her husband, Kenneth of Port Jervis, NY; his mother, Elizabeth Bohannon of Matamoras, PA; three brothers: Robert (his twin) of Matamoras, PA, Walter of Sparrowbush, NY, and Joseph of Westtown, NY; two sisters, Patricia Reynolds of North Carolina and Elizabeth Knight of Pittsburgh, PA. He is further survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edwin and Agnes Culver of Port Jervis; brothers-in-law, Robert Culver of Port Jervis and Ronald Culver of New Paltz; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Howard.Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, at 1 p.m. in the Drew United Methodist Church, Port Jervis, NY, with the Rev. Church and St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY. He was member of the Deerpark Reformed Church, Port Jervis, NY and a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He graduated from Ithaca State College earning his BA in Economics.He is survived by his sister, Pauline Moon of Port Jervis, NY; three nieces: Cheryl, Robyn, and Nancy, and two nephews, Darwyn and Fred.
