      John W. Olenick, Port Jervis, New York
		
          John W. Olenick, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Wednesday November 28, 2007 at Kindred, St. Claire's Hospital, Dover, N.J. He was 83 years old.He was born August 13, 1924 in Port Jervis, the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Hendrick Olenick. He married Julia Ciccone Olenick on October 23, 1948.A life-long resident of the area, John was a retired sprinkler fitter with Local 696 Sprinkler Fitters Union, Millburn, N.J. He is a Member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. John was a veteran of WW II, where he served in the US Army Air Corp. He was a Life member and Past Commander of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post # 161 in Port Jervis, Life Member of Tri-State Hose Co. #6, Port Jervis Fire Dept. and was former Grand Marshall of the Annual Fireman's Parade. Member of the Port Jervis Lodge Of Elks #645 B.P.O.E.; Member and founder of Rattler Ridge Sportsman Club, Cuddebackville. He served the City of Port Jervis as councilman, fourth ward, for eighteen years, serving on numerous committees.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Julia Ciccone Olenick, at home; three sons: John A. Olencik and his wife, Loretta, of Sparrowbush, Nicholas Olenick and his wife, Kathleen, of Montague, N.J., Anthony A. Olenick and his wife, Tammy, of Port Jervis; two daughters, Dora Hankins and her husband, John, of Port Jervis, and Kathy Aumick and her husband, Dean, of Port Jervis; one brother, Nicholas P. Olenick and his wife, Sheila, of Port Jervis; 12 grandchildren: John, Brian, Kyle, Megan, Ashley, Kaleigh, Shane, Hunter, Krista, Andrew, Alexander, and Andrew; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His brother Paul Olenick, and his sister Julia Ceresa predeceased him. Friends may call Friday, November 30 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, New York. Father Raj will conduct the vigil wake service at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Roosa-Fleming VFW Post will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Port Jervis Fire Dept. will conduct services at 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis, New York.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Jervis with Military honors.Memorial contributions may be made to the Roosa-Fleming V.F.       THERESA "PAT" COLEMAN, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Theresa "Pat" Coleman, a homemaker and lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at St. Joseph's Place, Port Jervis. She was 92.The daughter of the late Frank and Rose Ziffino Orlando, she was born August 14, 1915 in Port Jervis.She was married to the late Harrison W. Coleman.She was a member of St. Mary's RC Church, Port Jervis; Catholic Daughters Court Madonna #114, Port Jervis; and the National AARP.Survivors include one son, Gary Coleman and his wife Cathy of Port Jervis; five grandchildren, Kelly Tigue and her husband Richard, Jennifer Henkel and her husband Dwayne, Christine Johnson and her husband Jay, Thomas Coleman and his wife Lee and Michael Coleman; nine great-grandchildren, Emily, Lauren, Sarah, Bruce, Rachel, Eric, Abby, Tommy and Macie; her daughter-in-law, Gail Coleman Wachsmuth of Maryland; sister-in-law, Jean Orlando of Port Jervis; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Coleman; her sister, Carmela Orlando; and six brothers, Joseph, Dominic, Ralph, Michael, Savey, Fred and Bubby Orlando.Friends may call Friday, Nov. 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. A vigil wake service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Raj officiating. Catholic Daughters will conduct services, Friday at 7:30 p.m.Prayers will be offered Saturday, Nov. 24 at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's RC Church, Port Jervis.           Gisella M. Till, a retired financial analyst for CBS Television, New York City, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at her home. She was 90.The daughter of the late Julius and Julia Petruska Preyer, she was born April 6, 1917 in Kispest, Hungary.She was married to the late Dr. Geza Mateffy.She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis.Survivors include one daughter, Noemi M. Teleky of Port Jervis; one granddaughter, Julianne K. Teleky of Port Jervis; two grandsons, Attlia A. Teleky of Port Jervis, Geza C. Teleky of Port Jervis; one nephew, Karoly Korponai of Hungary; and her sister, Lenke Korponai of Hungary.A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, November 23 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's RC Church, Port Jervis.       ROBERT A. EDWARDS, JR., PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Robert A. Edwards Jr., a retired certified public accountant and lifelong area resident, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Kindred Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He was 67.The son of the late Robert A. Edwards Sr. and Dorothy Wykoff Edwards, who survives, he was born June 4, 1940 in Port Jervis.He was a member of Minisink Historical Society, Port Jervis. He was a graduate of Syracuse University.Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Wykoff Edwards at home; one sister, Ruth Shawhan of Potomac, Md.; one nephew, Kevin F. Shawhan; one cousin, Robert Wykoff.Services were held Monday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. The Rev.       ROSE CAPUTO, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Rose Caputo, a life-long resident of the area, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at her home. She was 77 years old.The daughter of the late Clifford and Adaline Heater Goble, she was born on January 3, 1930 in Matamoras, Pa. She was the wife of the late Carmen Caputo, who passed away on June 17, 2007.She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society in Port Jervis. Rose was a retired seamstress for Andmore Sportswear, Inc. in Port Jervis. She was a member and union representative of the I.L.G.W.U. for several years.She is survived by three daughters: Kathleen Dunn and her husband, Marvin, of Reno, Nev., Cynthia Scully and her husband, James, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Patricia Caputo of Port Jervis; two sisters, Renée Youngs and her husband, Al, of Windsor, N.Y.; Barbara Rogers of Binghamton, N.Y.; four grandchildren: Jeffrey, Kevin, & Daryl Dunn, and James Scully; 6 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Jocelyn & Gannyn Rose Dunn, Aidan, Maxwell & Dylan Scully; several nieces and nephews.       IVA NORTHRUP, PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK
		
          Iva Northrup, age 92, late of Port Jervis and formerly of Middletown, entered a peaceful rest on Saturday November 3, 2007, at the home of her granddaughter, Deborah Stas. Born on Flag Day, June 14, 1915, in Warwick, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie Utter Wanamaker. Iva was a bookkeeper for Tri-State Paper Box Co., in Middletown, N.Y. Though she was a lifetime resident of Middletown, she was also amongst the original settlers of Wolf Lake in Wurtsboro, where she owned a beloved summer home. Iva was a fun loving woman with a quick wit who loved dogs, photography, and the outdoors especially fishing off her boat on the lake with her grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Hanes, her second husband, Thomas Northrup and her longtime companion, David Voss. She is survived by her son, Gordon Hanes of Englewood, Fla.; her brother, Stanley Terwilliger and his wife, Winifred of Middletown; her granddaughter, Deborah (Hanes) Stas (nee Space) of Port Jervis; her grandson, Edward Hanes and his wife, Susan of Bloomingburg; great-grandchildren: Melanie Space, Sgt. Harry Space III, Kaitlin Space and fiancé, Adam Van Der Reems, great-great-granddaughter, Natalie Space; nieces, Marsha Wells and husband, Frank of Middletown, Susan Burrows and husband, Dan of Middletown, Lonnie Wygant and husband, Donald of Wallkill, Pamela Tripp of Newburgh, Denise Vanduyne and husband, Charles of Waterloo, Deanne Alfano and husband, Paul of Montgomery; nephews: David Wygant and companion, Gale Cahill of Wallkill, Neil Terwilliger and wife, JoAnn of Middletown, Michael Terwilliger of Port Jervis, Barry Terwilliger of Chester, and John Tripp; step-grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew Northrup; her devoted nurse, Betty Wolbert and her faithful dog, Buddy. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elsie Terwilliger and Esther (Terwilliger) Ward. Friends may call Tuesday, November 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E.
