Joanne Clouse, 64, of Highland Lake, N.Y., a Secretary for the Clarkstown Central School District, New City, N.Y. and longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, N.Y.The daughter of the late Clifford Wachter and Lillian Meyer Wachter, who survives, she was born May 31, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y.She was a member of St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Yulan, N.Y.A family statement reads: "Joanne was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She gave unselfishly of herself to all. She was loved by all and was so very special. She touched so many lives and will truly be missed. She made the world a better place and made it different. Alexander D. Osowick, a lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Morristown General Hospital in Morristown, N.J. He was 67.The son of the late Alexander and Catherine Dudko Osowick, he was born August 14, 1939 in Port Jervis, N.Y.Mr. Osowick was a retired Physical Education Teacher in the Port Jervis School System. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis; member of the Fontinellas Fly Fishing Club; longtime member of the Duso Basketball League, scoring 62 points in a single game, setting records. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.Survivors include one daughter, Nicole Osowick of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his longtime companion, Eileen Corcoran, at home; one brother, Thomas Osowick and his wife, Kathleen of Port Jervis; one sister, Mary Ritzel and her husband, John of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and his extended family: Kelley and Kevin Kean of Port Jervis, Shane, Ashley and Adam Kean, and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his brother, Julius Osowick.Friends may call at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Williams and Helen Benjamin Williams, he was born March 7, 1928 in Middletown.He was the husband of Frances B. Tinsman.Mr. Williams was retired from Ford Motor Co., Mawah, N.J. He was also a Veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army; he was a member of Hope Evangelical Church, Matamoras, Pa., a member of Matamoras Fire Dept, a member of The Milford Lodge of Masons #344, Milford, Pa., and a member of the Port Jervis Vol. Ambulance Corps.Survivors include his wife at home, Frances Tinsman Williams; one son, James A. She was 87.The daughter of the late Arthur and Edith Westlake Evans, she was born in Balmville, N.Y. on February 20, 1920.Constance was a retired Seamstress for Barbara Quiltin in Port Jervis, N.Y. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W. Post #5365 in Lackawaxen, Pa., and member of the Neversink Valley Grange #1530.Survivors include her husband, Roy W. Robert L. Teachman, a 58 year resident of the area, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at his home. He was 84 years old.The son of the late Andrew and Kathryn Stratton Teachman, he was born October 20, 1922 in Buffalo, N.Y.He was the husband of Madeline Caliciotti Teachman.Mr. Teachman was a retired postal clerk and carrier for the Matamoras U.S. Postal Service. He was a member and Elder of the Deerpark Reformed Church, Port Jervis. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Asiatic and Pacific during World War II, and 18 years as a Tech Sgt., Master Mechanic, Flight Engineer and Flight Line Director. He received the Good Conduct Medal, The American Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.He was a member of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post #161, Port Jervis; The American Paralyzed Veterans Assoc.; and the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans); he was a 45 year member of the Westfall Fire Dept., Past President and Financial Secretary for 25 years.
