Irene "Tess" Elliott, age 78, of Forestburgh, NY, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty, NY.She was born on October 14, 1930 at Long Island City, NY, the daughter of the late C. Howard Bott and Irene C. Morris Bott.Irene was a retired Secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Queens, NY after 36 years of service. She married Donald E. Elliott, who survives at home.She is also survived by several cousins. She was active in St. Patrick's Church in Long Island City before moving to Crestwood Village in Whiting, NJ.Wanting to be closer to her relatives she moved to Forestburgh, NY where she became active in St. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Church and the Forestburgh Senior Citizens Club.Friends may call today, Thursday, May 14, from 5-7 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis.Prayers will be offered on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Church, Forestburgh. Rev. Ivan Csete will be celebrant.
