William D. Decker age 62, of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday December 2, 2009 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on January 9, 1947 at Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Oliver and Bernice Quick Decker. Bill was a retired Chemical Operator for Summitt Research, Huguenot, NY and then retired from Conrail R.R., Port Jervis, NY as a Conductor. He married Ann L. Flamensfeld Decker, who survives at home. He is also survived by his 2 sons, Frank Decker and his wife Debbie of Port Jervis, and Douglas Decker of Port Jervis, 2 Grandsons, William David and Anthony Thomas Decker, his brother Oliver "Obie" Decker and his wife Kathy of Cuddebackville, NY ; 3 sisters, Donna Fuller, Gloria Corey and Mary Cuddy all of Port Jervis; 2 aunts, Vera Talmadge and Florence Wilson, cousin; Anthony "Butch" Bower, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Charles Decker and 2 sisters, Helen Rake and Doris Rowe. Bill proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the Seabees, U.S. Navy. He is a member of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis, and the Hawks Nest Hunting Club.
Memorial Services , with Military Honors, will be held Monday December 7, 2009 at 10:30am at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Jervis Youth Football League, PO Box 3115, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
