Charles Duke age 75, of Matamoras, Pa, passed away Thursday December 24, 2009 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on September 17, 1934 in New York City, NY, the son of the late George and Margaret Brennan Duke. Charles was a retired carpenter for John Innella Lumber Co., Sparrowbush, NY and Neversink Lumber Co., Port Jervis, NY. He was a ccommunicant of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, Pa. and an active member of the Matamoras Fire Dept.
Charles married Marilyn Scicutella Duke who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Diana Hart and her husband Michael of Matamoras, Pa., 3 sons John Duke and his wife Elizabeth of Fairfield, Conn., Charles Duke and his wife Penny of Shanghai, China and Joseph Duke and his wife Theresa of Hong Kong, 2 brothers, Steven Duke and his wife Barbara of Carbondale, Pa. and George Duke of Port Jervis; 8 grandchildren, Angela, Scott, Kristin, Alyssa, J.J., Tessa, Kara and Aerin; 3 great-grandchildren, Coral Ann, Brody and Riley, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday December 28, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc. 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday Dec. 29, 2009 at 10:30 am a the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY with Rev. Clifford Ekueme officiating. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Matamoras Fire Dept. Matamoras, Pa. 18336.
