Irene M. Eakin age 93 of Mahwah, New Jersey and formerly of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday October 28 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. She was born on July 21, 1916 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Sadie Davis Dwyer. Irene married William Eakin, who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her daughter Sally M. Eakin and her fiance Thomas Yingling of Mahwah, New Jersey; her son James Eakin and his wife Becky of Norwich, Vermont, 2 grand daughters, Laurie and Jessica, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Mahwah, NJ. Friends may call Monday November 2 from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Prayers will be offered at 10:15am at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, NY, concelebrated by Rev. Clifford Ekwume and Rev. John Foley. Interment will take place at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
