Frederick John Weber of Avon Park, Florida, formerly of Yulan, NY, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather-to-be and brother passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL. He was born on November 21, 1930 in Yulan, NY, the son of the late John and Eva Kalin Weber. He married Dorothy Brodmerkel on October 18, 1953. Fred worked as a carpenter/equipment operator, and then retired as a conductor from Conrail Railroad. After his retirement from the railroad Fred continued working as a self-employed building contractor. Fred was a graduate of the Eldred Central School. He joined the US Army and proudly served our country during the Korean War. He was a life time member of the Yulan Fire Dept. A family statement read, "Fred above all, took great pride in his family, had a strong passion and love for his pets, wildlife and the NY Mets."
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy Brodmerkel Weber of Avon Park FL. He is also survived by his son Frederick W. Weber and his wife MaryEllen of Holtsville, NY; 3 daughters, Susan Weber of Pond Eddy, NY, Teresa Klinetob and her husband John of Beverly, MA, Lisa Tobin and her husband John of Middletown, NY; his grandchildren, Jennifer Cohen and her husband Ilan, Eric Weber and his wife Jamiee-Lee, Megan and Kristen Klinetob, John IV and Brittany Tobin; great granddaughter-to-be Kyleigh Weber; 3 sisters, Virginia McBride of MT, Jeannette Kennedy of PA and Christine Thompson and her husband William of Yulan, NY; 2 brothers, David Weber and his wife Marie of Yulan, NY, Roger Weber and his wife Ruth of Binghamton, NY; brother-in-law Edward O'Connell of SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 sisters, Betty Marie Weber and Gail O'Connell. Friends may visit Thursday July 16, from 7-9 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday July 17, at 11 AM at the Eldred United Methodist Church, Eldred, NY with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Montoza Cemetery, Eldred, NY.
