G. RAY SPANGENBERG, HUGUENOT, NEW YORK

G. Ray Spangenberg, age 95, late of Huguenot, NY, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Belle Reve, Milford, PA.He was born August 3, 1912 at Deposit, NY, the son of the late George and Harriet Beasley Spangenberg.He was the former retired co-owner of The Spangenberg Burial Vault Co., Port Jervis, NY.Ray served our country during World War II with the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman, 2nd Class in the Pacific Theatre, Saipan. He was also a member of the Drew United Methodist Church, Port Jervis.He is survived by his two sons, George W. Spangenberg of New York City and Hugh W. Spangenberg and his wife, Candace of Huguenot; two grandsons, Scott Spangenberg and his wife, Laura, and Kurt Spangenberg; four great-grandchildren: Drew, Heather, Colin and Kayla; several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Monday, May 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Cassidy officiating.
