CHARLES "BRAD" TIPPENS, SPARROWBUSH, NEW YORK

Charles "Brad" Tippens, a longtime resident of Sparrowbush, died Monday, December 24, 2007, at Milford Senior Care Facility. He was 77.He was the son of the late Millard F. and Emma Tippens. He was born April 17, 1930 in Paden City, WV.He retired from Gillinder Glass Co. in Port Jervis, NY. A Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served from 1951-1954. He was a life member and past Captain of Tri-State Naval Ship #7241. Brad was a avid golfer and bowler.He is survived by his wife, at home, Jean M. Bachelder Tippens; two stepdaughters, Charlene Flieger and her husband, Charles of Sparrowbush, NY, and Nita Taylor and her husband, Bernard of Newport News, VA; stepson, Hollis Farr of Westbrookville, NY; one sister, Barbara Todd and husband, Tracy of Port Jervis; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John Tippens and sister, Dorothy Mae Hollawell.Memorial services will be announced at a later date by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, and will be held at the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, 46 Barcelow St., Port Jervis, NY.
